I lasted over half a year before I couldn't take it any more and my better senses took over, despite resorting to hair bands, combing with hair dryers and stronger and stronger hair products. Anyway the point of this anecdote is that it left Ying Chan at Bamboo with little to work with, having grown out my hair for so long, she couldn't infer what it ought to look like short based on the way it had grown out - she had no idea what my last hair cut looked like. She worked off a grainy photo on my blackberry but then proceeded to produce a lovely short hair cut that looks good without product, a significant feat. That on top of the 20% discount (25 pounds all in with a nice tip) and I'm leaving very satisfied. I will be back a few more times before the school year is up.

Before the cut, my hair was a semi straight hair that was up to my lower back with no style to it as I have just been growing it out. The hairdresser asked me what hair cut I wanted, before she sat me down and if I had a photo, which I did have. My main idea was to get my hair to look healthy again, and I think that goal was reached. Overall the service was great and the hairdresser made me feel comfortable throughout the whole appointment. At the end, my hair length was half way down my back, and it now has layers but with no fringe (which is what I wanted), it feels light and looks healthier already.

It can be quite busy, but the wait is definitely worth it. They have a couple setups in town; I frequent the Grafton Centre location but the one outside of Grand Arcade is also good.
