Finally, after a particularly difficult week, I decided to treat myself at Cambridge Nails & Spa. Most of the pedicure was okay - the feet soaking, nail shaping, etc. However, they used some sort of scraper to remove the thick skin off the bottoms of my feet. I was amazed at how much there was when suddenly I felt a sharp pain - they had removed so much skin on the bottom of pinky toe that it started to bleed. So much for a relaxing pedicure - the pedicurist apologized and finished my nails up. For the next week or so, it hurt to walk because if the toe touched anything it'd start hurting again. And they still charged me £30. Not worth it. At all.

First the look of the place, like other city centre shops it seems a bit run down. The Decor can really use some updating. I had a hot wax treatment with Shannon, she is fantastic. I was very happy with this service. They use the Lycon hot wax (no strips) if you request it and it's not painful at all. Shannon is very friendly and very good at what she does. As for nail, the person doing them was very friendly though I didn't feel she was that great. She was just ok. In general they don't seem well setup for nails. If you don't bring your own flip flops you walk around barefoot. There are no large spa sinks for pedicures, they use a small electric foot spa. The foot scrubbing happens as you are sitting in a chair to do this but it's really awkward as you have to life your legs really high. Then you have to somehow climb onto a high massage table for the nail work to take place. When we were done I had to walk barefoot on the now wet floor as I didn't have my flip flops to go wait for my nails to dry. Lots of potential at this place but the setup for nails is just not there. I also tried their Swedish massage.And would advice everybody to do the same, as Swedish massage, invented in 1700 is still one of the most effective non medical treatment, which relaxes muscles, increases oxigen circulation without affecting heart rate, also it is good stress relief. And it doesn't matter if you suffer with physical or emotiona stress. It works both ways.
