They installed a few things for me, pump & salt system, they came back once for the wiring that came apart, they won't come back to fix the leak on or the wiring that's still messed up plus some other new work they agreed to do. The entire install was sloppy, stains on everything, covers not threaded on correctly, etc. I was initially going to hire them for a $3k heater install as well but their refusal to get back to me to fix the shoddy work that's been done is enough to keep me well away from now on.
At first I was impressed with the installer, he was a nice guy, he spoke about his family and other things as he did the install. Even the owner and office manager, they all were very nice but their business practices are terrible. As a 100% disabled Veteran I don't leave my house due to severe PTSD so things here are important to me and I made it clear how appreciative I was that were so quick to show up. It wasn't until I inspected the work where things started to fall apart. The wiring was so loose I could stop and start the system by wiggling the wires on the outside, when they came back and that was fixed they sealed the box with what used to be silicone but had become a chunky paste that didn't seal anything, you could literally see into the box despite the massive smeared clumps of "sealant" wiped all over the exterior. Then my pool started draining slowly and on closer inspection a small drip at one of the PVC joints they installed for the salt system was found to be the cause. This was all well within a week or two of initial installation, perfectly reasonable to expect them to return and finish the job correctly. It has been close to maybe 3 months and I've heard a few excuses (though no direct replies, my emails are read but ignored) but no indication whatsoever that they plan to return or are willing to fix their mistakes.
It's one thing to be too busy for new jobs (which you then tell the customer, you dont just ignore them). Its another entirely to fail to return and fix your errors. At this point I decided I'd MUCH rather pay someone else to fix their errors and I have. I have zero faith in their abilities or business practices.. And to think I actually felt bad calling them back because they were so nice but I felt that for $300 I deserved a complete job. If only I'd have known.. That may be part of the problem, I am overly nice and passive with people because little things can set me off, dangerously. To avoid that I try to constantly be extremely grateful and polite. I think people see me being so patient and passive that they just assume I'll go away or that I'm not upset. Unfortunately it seems the loud, obnoxious and verbally abusive customers get the results. The same seems to be true at Pool Connection but I'd rather simply take my business elsewhere and not end up in trouble for letting my anger take over, especially since my service dog died a few weeks ago and I'm extremely unstable without him.
Like I said they are very nice people and you may get lucky, my feeling is they don't really care about you once the check is cashed, odd when I was clearly planning much more business with them. It may have been a blessing, 3 failures on a $300 install? I'd hate to think what they would do to a $3k heater..
(This review will stand, I've given them MONTHS to respond and address the issues, this review was not written in haste or with malice. Frustration and disappointment maybe but they've had plenty of time and chances. If this review is their only motivation to finally care then they don't deserve the opportunity, not after so many were squandered. They certainly have a lot to learn about respect) read more
