I am extremely disappointed with my experience with this Sterling Greenert. When I purchased my…read moreplants, I was given the impression that if any of them died within a reasonable period of time, they would be replaced. Unfortunately, a few of my plants died (same species) only 4-5 months after purchase, and the company has now failed to honor the word they gave me. Purchased 4-2026. I understand that there is stone in parts of my garden, but the stone is in no way obstructing or interfering with the areas where these plants were planted. The plants were properly placed in their designated garden beds, so I do not feel that the presence of stone is a fair reason to deny replacement. What is most disappointing is that I relied on what I was told when making my purchase. I expected the company to stand behind its plants and its word, especially when the plants failed within just a few months. Customer service and honoring commitments matter, and unfortunately, I feel that my experience fell far short of those expectations. I hope the company reconsiders its decision and does the right thing by replacing the plants as originally promised. If not, I would not purchase from them again and steer others away.

We made a couple special requests for plants which he courteously accommodated. He dethatched our lawn, removing record amounts of thatch, and so helped our lawn get off to a great start this year. To give our deck privacy, he created this nice privacy screen with arbor vitae shrubs. I would have given him 5 stars instead of 4 if the last arbor vitae to go in the ground had not taken an extra month to be planted. However, Jason to his credit kept his word and did plant the arbor vitae. Jason is a hard worker and knows his craft. He performs magic. We would hire him again.

Our project presented here was a major investment: both in presence (our entire front landscape)…read moreand capital. Ultimately, considering the scope and cost of this project, he over-promised and under-delivered. If you consider using this business or any business, I strongly recommend that you ask for a detailed accounting of time and materials, and if the plan changes mid-flight, you should ask for a recalculation of the cost basis of the plan. Other landscape companies do this by default, we failed to require this here and we regret it.

I apologized for causing him this heartache and asked to cancel my service and process a refund. life is too short to deal with miserable people. plenty of other companies out there who are nice.

We are so glad we found Chris Bolduc. We have used his services for more than 25 years, with…read moremarvelous results. Chris is a trained arborist, so he does not merely cut things down: he knows just which branches need to go, how to prune/shape a tree for beauty and tree health, how to balance things so this or that part of your yard has gorgeous AND healthy trees as a major part of the picture. We are now moving, but feel happy that the many trees in our large yard were cared for by Chris for so long.

I highly caution you against doing business with this company. Our experience with "A Cut Above…read more(ACA)" was good at first and has ended in frustration and dissappointment. We hired ACA to clean up our arborvitae trees, trim some branches and cut down a small tree and remove the stump. Upon first look, everything was done to our liking. However, a month later when we opened our lawn irrigation system for the season, we learned ACA had punctured two water lines in our system. We were with our irrigation contractor when he opened our irrigation system and witnessed water gushing out of the ground. After carefully removing the soil, we saw the lines that had been pierced. Our irrigation company advised us to contact the company we used to remove the tree because this is a "common occurrence when trees are removed" and "they should pay for the repair of the lines." We reached out to Chris Bolduc, owner and ACA arborist about the lines he broke while removing the tree stump and he refused to work with us to correct the problem he created. We asked him to pay the one-hundred dollars it would cost to repair the lines. He refused and said he "did the work he was hired to do" and there was "no problem with the work done because the tree was removed." We asked him to return to our home so we could show him the damage we were referring to and he refused. Chris took no ownership of the damage he caused to our irrigation system while removing a tree. The bottom line is, if you hire A Cut Above, you will need to supervise Chris to hold him accountable in the moment for any damages he causes because he will not work with you to resolve any damages he does to your property. What is the most aggravating aspect of this situation is the principle of ACA not fixing the problem, (whether it was a mistake or reckless) that he caused. We were not asking for much, just one-hundred dollars or even supplying a contractor to make the repair.
