Maybe because it was raining out and more people were there to stay dry? As others have said, games are more expensive. We didn't have much cash on us so we had to be strategic about which games we played to make it last. The machines aren't very generous with tickets (although that could just be a testament to my arcade game skills). The prizes are pretty varied and some options are higher than expected (while others are lower), but they've got some good picks. I spotted a popper I wanted, but we didn't have enough tickets. The guy behind the counter told me I could have it anyway. Half Moon could definitely stand to do some upgrades, specifically to offer a card-based system so people don't have to rely on change.

I can't say enough good things about Animal Craze baby animal farm. The Baby Animal Farm features 1…read morelamb, 2 baby goats, 1 piglet, 4-6 chicks, 4 ducklings, and 4 baby bunnies. There was no lamb, now that I think about it, but a lot more chicken/ducks. Tonya was super responsive via email setting up and confirming the date and answering questions. The day of the event Joleen, our attendant, called about 20 min ahead of event setup to let us know she was on her way. They bring everything to your event space like the tent, brushes for the animals, and water/food. You provide the tent (if needed) and a nice grassy (non fertilized) area. They come in a suv so parking is easy. This was a surprise for a birthday so when Joleen arrived, the look and squeals of happiness were worth every penny. It was beyond cute when the two little goats followed her from the car to their pens. Joleen was the best and so great with the kids. She was very knowledgeable about the animals and helped the kids to hold the animals properly and was quick to clean up after them. The animals were all clean and looked well cared for and loved. Although the little piggy was having tummy issues and kept throwing up, yikes! Very pricey but worth the splurge!

At that time it was just the founder Bob Miner and his wife giving tours. Now DH has grown to be a sprawling animal sanctuary that even had a short stint reality TV show at one point (really sad that did not continue). Currently, with all of the expansion, it is now hard for visitors to get a sense of how Bob started the sanctuary by taking in exotic animals seized by the Maine warden service and how creating a sanctuary for those animals helped him heal from PTSD he was experiencing as a Vietnam veteran. I almost wish there was a welcome video in the visitors center... In any case, this is an incredible spot to check out if you happen to be in the area!

I brought my son and niece here after seeing the reviews and I'm always looking for new places for him to experience since he's on the spectrum and likes to keep busy, this space was a perfect spent almost 3 hours of fun! The commute was about an hour and it was so worth it! There is a very cute snack and coffee counter, seating area for eating/snacking and to give the kiddos a break, a nice sized sound proof party room with its own personal sandbox and it can also be used as a sensory room.
