The pizza was thin, chrunchy with the perfect amount of crust. The cheese and sauce complimented each other well. The platter was served on a plate and with real utensils. However the chicken was thinly sliced and one piece over almost a half box of pasta. It was extremely cheesy. The best part was the ambiance. One wall was covered in a mural dedicated to Italy. Pizza; not appetizing. The dough did not have a good aftertaste. You can do better elsewhere. They may have been better at an earlier time, but these days, no, not good. The pros: it was thin pizza. Also, I had called in for this order and they told me they offered only one size, large. That was a lie. When I came to pick up the pizza it was definitely more a MEDIUM PIE NOT A LARGE PIE AS THEY HAD FALSELY STATED. Ambiance is a regular old pizza parlor. If I could give zero stars I would. First, when I go to order the staff made it feel like I was interrupting something and I was bothering them by giving them my business and cash. I ordered a slice of pizza and a chicken parm wedge. This was the tiniest wedge I've ever seen. But that is not the worst part. They give you a quarter of a piece of chicken so thin you can barely see it. Next to no cheese and maybe a tablespoon of sauce. Also the bread was burnt. The slice of pizza was burnt and the cheese smelled weird. We ordered zeppoles and thwy acknowledged the order but when we realized they weren't on the receipt we asked them. I can't speak more highly of this place. Lived in an apartment on the Yonkers waterfront for a year and probably eat at the pizza place almost once a week. Located right across the street from the train station and next-door to Yonkers brewery it is the perfect spot to grab lunch or pick some food up on your way home for dinner. Their lunch specials are particularly spectacular from the traditional two slices and a soda to a chicken Parm entrée to their grinders everything is delicious and well priced. Furthermore they could not be more friendly and willing to help or make something special/help you out by holding something for you and keeping it warm. I loved trying this local pizza parlor! We ordered the large pizza and wings special and added on garlic knots. The pizza was delicious and really filling. The wings were freshly made with the sauce added on, and came with celery sticks. The garlic knots were great as well and the staff even gave us some marinara dipping sauce. I'm a pizza snob so for me to say their pizza is really good, it is! Grew up eating jersey and BK and NYC pizza all my life and I can absolutely tell the difference between slices anywhere. They also serve thick actual chicken fingers, as opposed to places that sell all bread. Their Italian subs are on point also. Today, I was told by the man answering the phone that he would get the manager, who, upon hearing my question, said exactly what he said the first time. I am not leaving this review because they are not donating, but because the manager clearly has 0 interest in public service, community, or giving back. Hopefully the people of Yonkers realize they shouldn't "have the time" to eat at an establishment with management who has no value or decency to even politely say "We can't participate at this time" or nicely decline. My coworker/friend and I decided to head over to this place known for their good pizza for lunch. I figured why not try the lunch special instead of trying out the pizza. BIG mistake! The place was nice, clean and the cashier was polite and attentive. But it seems to not have reflected on my food. Now this picture may look like I've consumed my ravioli, as anyone else can argue but I assure you that I have not. As soon as I opened my container, I am greeted by 3 sad ravioli pieces. For $7.60 I don't think this as well as a meager side of salad (not shown) with barely any dressing is worth that much. My co-workers can attest to how little food I received and I ended up still starving trying to gobble them up. Great little pizza shop tucked in a cool little corner area by the metro north train tracks. The pizzas are fresh and very crispy. Service is superb and even though it's not waiter service, they still attend to you with that level of service (they'll bring you your meal after you order at the counter). Solid pizza right in the center of Yonkers. The Pizza Place is probably the best option for a quick lunch up here, but luckily it's worth looking forward to. Slices here are just well done NY-style pizza, and you'd do just fine getting a plain slice here. Some people I work with talk about their grandma slices but I haven't had them. They also have specialty slices like chicken parm and chicken marsala which, while gimmicky, are actually pretty good. Seeing as I've mostly cut pizza out of my diet (relatively), I also second their salads--especially those with grilled chicken. This is the same good quality chicken they use on their pizzas and they don't skimp on it in the salads. Some people may read this and say "what's the big deal"? Well to be honest there isn't one. But this is a good pizzeria which has other good food as well, and that isn't nearly as common as it used to be. read more

Yelper Ben Y. and I were premiering our short film at the Yonkers Film Festival when hunger struck. We left the festival and scoured Yonkers for something to eat. We found The Pizza Place and immediately went in since we've heard a bunch of great things about it. We were greeted by a super friendly chef and amazing decor. We ordered some Grandma's pizza slices and a pepperoni roll to share. We sat by the window and took in the Yonkers aura and adorable decor of the Pizza Place. The owner/chef came over to ask if we were sharing the pizza roll, and we told him we were. Minutes later he delivered our slices and halved pepperoni roll on cool pizza pans. He even gave us two sauces, one for each of us. He went the extra mile to make us feel welcome and enjoy his wonderful, delicious food. When we paid for our meal, he was so grateful for our business. He thanked us for coming and asked us how we had heard of the place. We told him we've heard great things and that we see it from the Metro North when we commute home from NYC, both of which he was thrilled to hear. What a great place! read more

One of the best pizza spots in Yonkers. I'm huge fan of pizza (my cheat meal) and this spot has great quality in cheese, sauce and bread. Always prepared hot and ready and the people working there are always pleasant (shouts to Diego). It's a nice spot to sit and eat and my only issue is during the summer eating while eating hot pizza can leave you a bit hot and bothered. Another downside is that there closed on sunday. As I prepare to move away from Yonkers, I have to admit that the Pizza Place will be one of the things I miss most about living in this area. While the pizza is really good (I'm particularly fond of the New York "Original") I was pleasantly surprised to find that they make some great pasta dishes as well. I will sorely miss their baked ziti. Oh, and their cannoli too! Way better than Domino's or Papa John's, particularly if you happen to live in one of the locations where they deliver. Even if they don't deliver to your location, do yourself a favor and order something for takeout - call ahead, because everything is fresh, so it takes some time to prepare your order when they're busy. I decided to give this place a try after a disastrous first attempt. Again, I was disappointed. Wanting to semi-treat myself to an early dinner, I decided to make my way to The Pizza Place. This place is gorgeous! The high ceilings and intricately painted walls are very welcoming and aesthetically pleasing. So now about the food... My intentions were to get pizza, but the extensive menu board convinced me to get a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Yum! I order and wait just for a bit and someone brings my food to me. Yay! Not. The first thing I notice is the amount of dressing on my salad. It was as if whoever prepared my salad decided to soak each piece of the lettuce in a cup full of dressing. Ew. And if that wasn't enough, I got probably two little soggy chunks of croutons and I had to ask for more! Whatever, just eat the damn salad. Fine I will (insert grumpy face here) .. As I navigated through the sea of dressing, I noticed that in fact they DID include croutons but they basically disintegrated into the salad. Double ew. The chicken was bland and refrigerator cold. My wife and I recently moved to Yonkers, which means we had to find new go-tos. The Pizza Place is now definitely our go-to for pizza. The Grandma's Pizza is hands-down the best. Perfectly spiced, crust with a nice crunch around the edges, and not too many tomatoes. Our favorite. Garlic knots are solid, just like you'd find anywhere else. The Italian sub is pretty good if you are looking for lunch but not in the mood for pizza. The calzones aren't bad, either. Inside this place has a lot of space and it is very comfortable. We sat outside--there's a very pleassant patio outside with tables and chairs and a nice view of downtown Yonkers. The location is great: it's right by the MetroNorth train station for Yonkers, Getty Square, and Van der Donck Park. But it's tucked away in a little corner, so it's easy to miss. However something I can only call bait and switch has changed that.The shop is festooned with signs pushing two different specialty slices with appealing(and what might be considered premium toppings) at a good price.Yet they are never available(allegedly). They are of course more than happy to make me a personal pie at 2 or 3 times the price of the slice.When asked the owner is quite arrogant and states I have no right to tell him how to run his biz.
