I cannot rate this garage and they three guys that I dealt with highly enough! Professional,…read morefriendly, knowledgeable and so very helpful! I got recovered and taken here last week, after splitting my tyre on a pot hole! They completely turned a bit of a c**p situation into a such a positive experience! I had been travelling around Scotland for the past week in a campervan that was new to me, which had 20" alloys, therefore I was so very lucky that Brian had decided to get some tyres in to fit these the week before, as they are not standard and not usually in stock! Brian was in on his day off and spent a lot of time explaining and helping me understand about wheels and tyres and gave me so much knowledge for my future travels! Mark showed me that I had also damaged my wheel, which highlighted to me how honest and conscientious they are! They did their absolute best to help with this and then swapped my damaged wheel and tyre to the back for my journey home, explaining that the front takes the majority of any impact and therefore this would be much safer! ... I would never have thought of this and surely they have gone way up and beyond any 'normal' customer service! The other guy (whose name I unfortunately did not get), gave me a full visual inspection report on my tyres (something which I had asked at a previous kwik fit, and was told 'oh there ok'!), he was brilliant! He also asked me if I had heard a knocking noise?, to which I replied 'yes', he then told me what this was and advised me to take it to my mechanic as soon as I return! They did not charge me for anything apart from the tyre and the fitting! I seriously, cannot thank these guys enough and cannot rate them high enough! I am pleased to say, thanks to them, I returned home to Cornwall safely. I have returned feedback to their Operations Manager and I hope they are commended on their service :) A BIG THANK YOU GUYS!!!!

I paid £50 for the MOT, yet nobody took the time to explain potential issues beforehand or discuss what was likely to cause a failure. What was particularly disappointing was a comment from one of the mechanics suggesting that previous garages had been "doing me a favour" by passing the car. Rather than offering honest, professional advice and explaining the findings respectfully, the attitude came across as dismissive and unprofessional. I fully understand that vehicles can fail an MOT if faults are present, and I have no problem accepting that when it is explained properly. However, I expect clear communication, transparency, and good customer service. Unfortunately, that was lacking from my experience. Based on the poor communication and unprofessional comments, I would not return or recommend this garage to others.

While the repair was being completed, I found the necessary replacement part on line for £38.50 each. On further investigation, this repair should have cost in the region of £200. The subsequent complaint was dismissed and dealt with unsympathetically. I would urge anyone using the services of this garage to get quotations elsewhere and avoid paying for anything in advance.

It was a real find - a small, local garage which believes in good customer service and won't rip you off. The guys who work here are always really friendly - if you just stop for petrol they even come out and fill up your car for you and they're always up for a chat and a laugh. But where I find them invaluable is all the little problems I've had with my cars over the years (I've had very bad luck when it comes to car tyres!) and the fact that they've always been honest, reliable and incredibly good value for money. One time I had a flat tyre, it was just the tyre valve and they charged me £5 to fix it. Another time, I had a nail in my tyre, it cost £10 to fix it. Another time I hit a pothole and buckled my wheel - rather than sting me for a new wheel, they recommended a local reconditioning place that would knock it back into shape for £20, which saved me a fortune. Even when I did need a new tyre, they have really reasonable prices and a new tyre from here cost me £40 (this was about 5 years ago now) when National Tyres wanted to charge me £70. I have no doubt at all that this place will not rip you off or charge you for work that doesn't need done and I can't recommend them highly enough - I will now drive from Shawlands past at least half a dozen other garages to take my car here.

The pick up time was put back and back as they were having problems getting some old screws off when I eventually did pick up the car I drove to the top of the road and had to come back. 2 reviews 11 hours ago-Edit…read moreVisited the garage on the 2/12/18 to get a puncture repair, tyre had a temporary plug fitted. Waited at the reception desk. The person who was doing the puncture asked me to go with him to the workshop area. Shows me the tyre and states, is that TURNBULLS work when he saw the plug fitted. I said no, i fitted the plug 6 months prior. He runs his fingers through loose rubber shavings and states the car has been running on its rim and the tyre is dangerous so cant fit a plug. I know the loose shavings came from me when i was repairing the tyre with a plug. The hole has to be roughened up prior to inserting the plug.. I had informed another member of staff to tell the guy working on the tyre (cant call him a fitter) to put 33 pounds pressure in the tyre. I had also said to Andrew (the owner) that i cant run a tyre flat, sensors warn me when pressure drops. When i started to reverse the rear left tyre warning light was on. The car can also tell me tyre pressures. front left which he had checked for leak also had 38 lbs a square inch, rear left had 26 lbs a square inch, not 33lbs as requested. The work and diagnostics was so sub standard that when i got home i blew a tyre up myself and deflated the other as the pressure was over excessive and checked all wheel nuts. Overexcessive pressure can cause an accident when cornering as theres less rubber on the road surface.Incidently i thought i would like to mention that i have worked as a mechanic most of my life and also done mots and furthermore my car only two day prior had just had its mot which passed. Can only assume there trying to sell extra tyres before xmas. My tyre which was only half worn could have been sold of as a part worn tyre which is a win win, well for them anyway, not me.. Felt it was a fairer business when Andrews father had it in the old place. DEFINATELY a bad experience for me. I will repair the tyre myself, another plug should do it. With tyre pressure being to high on the front left made the car dangerous when i left the garage. If the rear tyre was much less than it was (26 lbs) it could have come away from the rim when cornering. How hard is it to blow a tyre up to the correct pressure? UPDATE!--have checked front left tyre and at the plug repair , using a little water located small leak at plug (bubbles). Fitted another plug alongside and rechecked, leak stopped! on rear found a screw nail in tyre, removed screw with pliers and inserted plug, tested with water, no problem, all leaks repaired and pressure maintained. Would advise drivers to purchase a plug repair kit from e bay and a small electric pump from Home Bargains for a fiver and your independant.Majority of repairs can be done with the wheel on the car. Repairing a puncture is not a difficult job (well for most people). Abbotsinch would rather sell you a new tyre. Larger premises equates more rent to pay so sales staff must push tyre sales to generate the extra cash needed for the extra rent. If your female dont think about it. They will look at you as an easy target. Dont be tempted to get the tracking done either (another gimmick) 4x4 s climb mountains and dont require tracking reset. With reference to Jack Austins negative review whom i do not know i would like to point out that his review was inserted because he survived the accident. Dead people dont write reviews!
