Was told this was a complex full of mostly "young professionals" in which was not true. The main demographic I've seen is full families with children, which is fine however it wasn't what we were told...Packages are labeled and put away in a mail room we were told, they actually just sit on the floor in the lobby. Your told that this is the most quiet apartment complex, it is not the walls are paper thin, you can hear each and every conversation from any apartment. Broken elevators, no parking in gated parking lot, stench of weed everyday, bugs and roaches in apartments, I could continue however I believe I made my point...think long and hard before signing any lease for this place.

One of the major problems we had was with the air conditioner. When it got warm out we started using the air conditioner. Immediately after we turned it on my boyfriend and I started getting extremely sick. We told the office and said they would send someone up to change he filter. Yes, someone came up and changed the filter but it did not help. We were still getting very sick we told them again, still not very concerned but after complaining a few times someone came and replaced our entire unit. That is the one good thing they did fix it. However, fast forward a few months and I started noticing obscene amounts of mold in the corners of the windows, in the bathroom and on the sides of the air/heat unit. I clean often and even after trying to get rid of the mold it continued to return. Yet again we went to the office and told them about the issue and said we thought maybe it was because the filter in the bathroom has never been changed. They sent someone up and when we told him the issue he said, "that fan doesn't go anywhere, of course you are going to have mold". Are you kidding me!? He did not change the filter on the fan that says, "change every 6 months", and told us that we are going to have mold, basically tough luck. This is absolutely ridiculous. My boyfriend and I have had several bronchial problems and my parents are convinced it is because of the mold in the apartment. I know that our apartment is not the only one with this problem. I have heard several people talking about how disgusting it is that there is mold in all the apartments. So as you can see it is no use to risk your health to live somewhere. They continue to spend loads of money on painting the walls and renovating the laundry rooms, maybe they should worry about the mold and the residents health first. I am so happy to leave when my lease is up and hopefully feel much better.

We lived at Montage Apartments for just over a year and unfortunately, our experience left much to…read morebe desired. While the complex initially presented itself as a luxury residence, our time there was marked by repeated frustrations, unaddressed concerns, and ultimately, a complete lack of accountability or care from the property management. Over the course of our lease, we outlined our concerns in a detailed letter to management, covering everything from maintenance problems, neglected amenities, parking issues, and communication failures, to unfulfilled promises and generally poor upkeep. These issues included: * The pool being advertised as heated and regularly maintained, yet never once functioning properly during our entire stay. A former maintenance employee even confirmed it had never been heated. * Ongoing issues with package security, with deliveries routinely left in unsecured, inconsistent locations despite repeated suggestions and promises of an Amazon Hub system that never materialized. * Severe parking limitations, where only one space was provided for a two-bedroom unit, and alternative parking near our building was nearly impossible to find. We offered solutions, but they were ignored. * Poorly maintained amenities such as an arcade machine that was removed and never replaced, a community garden left overgrown and unusable, and a gym in unsanitary condition with broken equipment and literal mucus on the walls. * Persistent maintenance problems from day one, including doors that didn't latch properly, a sink that detached from the countertop due to improper installation, repeated HVAC issues, bird nests in dryer vents, and security concerns with exterior doors remaining ajar in cold weather. * Extremely high staff turnover and constant reminder emails about strict rules that addressed problems passively instead of being solved at the root. We met with the property manager directly and expressed all of these concerns. Despite this effort, we were given no reassurances that anything would change. The only action taken was the removal of the mucus on the gym wall. Even after pointing out the heavy accumulation of dust, the gym remained untouched for months. The only response was, "We're trying our best." When we asked for alternative lease terms--such as a shorter renewal while we observed whether things would improve--we were quoted rates over $2,000 MORE per month, essentially pricing us out of any flexibility and making it clear there was no intent to compromise or retain us as tenants. Following our decision to move out, the overall conditions at Montage deteriorated even further. Landscaping was completely neglected, with overgrown grass and gardens left untouched for a month. Then came a highly aggressive move-out checklist, which threatened to deduct our security deposit for anything from unvacuumed carpets to lightbulbs being out (even though they owned the bulbs). The tone was punitive and disconnected from any reality of how they had managed our tenancy. We've since moved into The Borden in Wethersfield and the difference has been nothing short of night and day. The property is clean, well-maintained, professionally staffed, and equipped with thoughtful amenities like a secure package locker system, ample parking, and responsive service. We cannot in good faith recommend Montage Apartments to anyone. The lack of care, the broken promises, and the unprofessional handling of tenant concerns made our experience consistently stressful. We hope this review is helpful to anyone considering this property and encourages Montage to reflect on how it treats its residents.

If you value your sense of safety, don't move to any of their buildings. For example, there is a…read morelocked master key for the realtors to show empty units. However, the realtors are too lazy to accompany the possible future tenants, so they give them the code to the key that can open everything. Makes sense to give a complete stranger access to everything- all units, everyone's storage, etc.. Once a possible renter started opening my door while cooking dinner until I screamed that someone was in here. The other day I was on my porch (front unit) and heard someone call the realtor because the key was MISSING. Maintenance enters units whenever they please, regardless of the lease stating that they need to give 24 hrs notice unless an emergency. I was once home sick with my daughter and heard my door open. Saw maintenance, told them they couldn't be there and they put their foot in the doorway to try to prevent me from closing the door. When I tried to address this with the main office, they ignored me until I wrote on the Better Business Bureau website and they responded (with lies) extremely fast. Dealing with the main office is pure hell if you can even get ahold of them. Home should be where you feel the safest, however I never felt safe and am glad I'm leaving this month. Oh and if they "fix" anything.. expect it to break again in a few days because they just put bandaids on everything. The floors are crooked. The intercom/doorbell system stopped working years ago. The security door doesn't shut all the way so anyone can walk in, so it serves no purpose. 10/10 chance that if a building inspector came they'd be in big I could go on and on sadly but I am so happy I'm leaving. Oh and they will have you pay first and last rent and then try to make you pay the last months rent again so be aware and keep track of your payments to them. I will say that the units look very nice at first however once you live here awhile you'll realize they just slapped some new paint on everything and went about their day.

DO NOT MOVE HERE…read more Management regularly gives short notice for entry (often less than 24 hours) and then doesn't show up as scheduled, sometimes appearing days later without warning. They are nearly impossible to reach by phone; calls are usually routed to third-party customer service that can't resolve issues and promises follow-ups that never happen. Rent increases with every renewal, yet ongoing maintenance issues are rarely addressed. There is widespread mold throughout common areas and units. Essential systems frequently break, including elevators, heat, AC, and laundry machines. The building infrastructure is extremely outdated, and failures are often blamed on the age of the property rather than properly fixed. The carport has severe structural damage, is now condemned, and has caused falling debris and pipe damage--yet residents are still charged $75 per parking spot. Snow removal is inconsistent, sometimes making it impossible to leave for work. Mail and packages are frequently stolen due to poor security. Trash chutes regularly overflow. Laundry costs have increased multiple times (now ~$3.90 per load), but machines are inefficient and often require multiple cycles. Elevators have been out of service for weeks at a time and continue to break down. Most recently, large portions of the property have been without water for over a week. Residents were given conflicting information, encouraged to stay instead of using hotels, and then left without updates or reliable communication. Overall, the property appears too old and poorly managed to be properly maintained, and residents consistently bear the consequences. There are many more issues, but this should be enough to strongly encourage anyone considering this property to take existing reviews seriously. I wish we had.

I don't recommend this place at all, here's a just a few reasons why... There is an inch wide crack all the way around the doors to the hallway and the wind whistles through the door all night in addition to letting in the hallway light and all the hallway smells. The hallway always smells terrible, both from people living in the building with incontinence issues and the laundry room vents into the hall. Bugs enter the apartment through the hallway door, spiders, stink bugs, earwigs... The windows do not shut tight we and the wind whistles through the windows. The windows leak water into the apartment during a rain storms. Birds live in air conditioner and wake you at 4 AM. Outdoor lights in the courtyard never go off so they shine in all night. KITCHEN: The kitchen sink was installed with very cheap fixtures that lacked gaskets so water leaked down under the sink. The dishwasher leaves debris on the dishes so every load needs to be rinsed off. The garbage disposals are ancient and don't grind. If your unit has a washer/dryer... the washer tears your clothes and the dryer vents INSIDE causing massive dust in the apartment. The stove also vents inside, putting grease everywhere. Other people have said this -- they raise the rent - a LOT, every lease renewal!

Westgate was the first apartment I lived in when I moved to the area, or should really say, first…read moreplace I lived on my own. I lived in a studio from 2007-2011, which had a hallway, huge closets, and a humongous bathroom. The grounds were kept immaculately and the location was sheer perfection. Maintenance were very friendly gentlemen. When my fridge stopped working, they were quick to replace it with a newer one. When the ceiling fell out in the kitchen, they fixed it too. I used to walk to Stop and Shop, CVS, Dunkin' Donuts, and Boston Market all the time. The Chinese restaurant, Tasty, was a delicious convenience for me. They would throw two parties a year; a holiday and a summer cookout! The leasing office for the most part was very nice to me, except when I tried to negotiate the price. A bus stop is in front of the complex in case you don't have a car. The one-star deduction was for the price. These are very, very expensive apartments. The starting price for the studio is about two hundred dollars more per month than my last year rent. For the price, they should include a hot tub in the pool area and built a gym in the basement. Though I felt like I had no disposable income when I lived there, I felt it was worth living in a safe, convenient and beautiful place. I moved out solely because I could not afford (and I had decidedly to move in with my boyfriend). I do recommend Westgate if you make lots of $$$$$, but don't want the commitment of home ownership. Westgate was a wonderful experience for me.
