In the past 2 years they've added a beautiful new patio and a gas fire pit with Adirondack chairs around it, and two new gas grills, and this year they resurfaced and re-tiled the pool which looks awesome. The grounds of the property is always beautiful, they take great care of this place. Whenever I've had a maintenance issue the maintenance team has always responded quickly with a sense or urgency. The property manager Patti is also super friendly and knows you by name. She is also willing to work with you if there is a problem, and does so with a smile on her face which goes a long way as a customer. It's unfortunate that people will leave a review only if they've had a bad experience. There are always going to be issues, nothing is perfect, it's what you do about these issues that will drive change for the better. The staff doesn't know what they don't know, so if you aren't providing them feedback nothing will change for the better. All in all I will miss living here as it truly has been a great experience for me, one that I will never forget.

You are also REQUIRED to give them the keys and let them in or its cause for eviction. Not to mention, the rebuilt apartments are not good quality, the workers cut corners everywhere. You are also REQUIRED to tell them 2 months before the lease is up that youre not resigning or they charge you 20% increases PLUS 250 a month. Giving 2 months notice in this economy is virtually impossible. Especially since the lease says absolutely nothing about them being required to let me know if rent is raising or lowering at that 60 day remaining mark. My biggest frustration is them requiring you to run hot water ALL NIGHT so THEIR pipes dont freeze and then they will not reimburse you. Using my money to save their as*ess from having to repair something. Not to mention i had to reach out 3 times before receiving my lease paperwork. Management never picks up the phone, i will call and no answer. Then 5 seconds later when i walk in the door theyre all just sitting on their computers. Dont let the new shiny counters and "amenities" fool you. Youll pay 2000$ for an apartment slapped together in a month. Also its been two years since that others persons review and the dumpster is still a disgusting mess. The residents dont care, dog poop and pee everywhere too. Literally trash left everywhere next to the dumpster. When going on a tour, they'll tell you that they plow bright and early so there's no need to worry about that, but all they do is the one strip in the road and block your cars in. They never clear out the car spaces so there are mounds of ice in between each car. If none of this matters to you, its a good place to live and its in a good spot. If these things do bother you, look elsewhere

    - I DO NOT LIVE HERE -…read more This review is based off the tour I had the other day and will hopefully answer some questions for future residents. Within a week of my tour request, I had 3 different voicemails from 3 different leasing agents trying to schedule with me. Our appointment was at 3pm, and our leasing agent was 10 minutes late. I don't think she ever introduced herself, because I don't remember her name. She also failed to acknowledge my partner and only addressed me. Turns out she's only been with the company for two months. She never asked me for any ID, even though the desk sign said it was required. OK. I gave her my price range and she took us on a golf cart to tour ground level, basic one bedroom. It did look outdated and had carpeted flooring. Then we drove over to see a two bedroom. Neither of the apartments looked like any of the images online. I asked to see the renovated one bedroom that was online. Looked much better, but the price was over $2000/month. False advertising using the basic apartment prices for the updated ones. The application fee is $50 per person. Utilities are NOT included. You have to pay an annual fee for the amenities. There are monthly garbage disposal fees, as well as a monthly $5 admin fee. The leasing agent only told me this because I asked... There are also annual and monthly pet fees PER pet. We were never shown the club house or gym, so I can't speak to that. What I can say is the club house had a boarded up window due to it being broken the day before by kids residing in the complex. The pool looked clean to me. All units have a washer and dryer. Maintenance is based off a work order system, with emergency requests taking priority. Pest control is onsite weekly to maintain the property. There are car ports you can rent for $50/month that have surveillance cameras. We saw some pretty expensive cars on the lot. The leasing agent told us to keep our doors locked. I asked the agent about safety in the area due to the mixed reviews about the complex. She said she knew nothing about the reviews and asked me what I meant. Huge red flag in my opinion. How can you sell a product you haven't researched? Anyways, I told her what I read (that residents mentioned roaches and shootouts) and her only explanation was that a new Jewish management company out of New Jersey (I think) took over a year and a half ago and have been working on changing things. However, old residents from prior management who "let anyone live here" (her words not mine) still reside in the complex. She says they deny many applicants weekly now in order to improve the complex standards. I asked her what the minimum credit score was for acceptance, and she couldn't even answer the question. I can't speak on the minimum requirements for having an application accepted. Overall, this place seemed very, very overpriced. I understand that is the market now, but nothing is included in this complex. It's base rent + everything, even if you don't want to use their amenities. AND you can't guarantee safety? Good luck.

It had a working fireplace and tons of closet space. - The neighbors are mostly families, with some young professionals and older folks sprinkled in. All friendly, quiet people. - Great location. Very convenient to Hartford, UConn, and the highways. Tucked away from the main streets. - Dedicated parking spots and plenty of guest parking on the street. Cons: - They don't really put a lot of time/effort into maintaining the units. If you have a problem, they'll fix it. But if you want anything cosmetic done........ good luck. Some of the units are pretty retro with fake brick linoleum floor in the kitchen and green yellow bathroom tile. It's definitely not chic and modern. - The property manager never answers her phone. Like ever. (At least when I lived there a few years ago). It was almost comical how many times I would have to call her. - When I lived there at least, there was no way to pay bills. renew your lease, or request maintenance online. Everything had to be done via snail mail. Pretty archaic. Overall, I enjoyed living here and would recommend it to people looking for a townhouse near Hartford.

Stuff like that gets fixed, hopefully, when someone moves out and someone else is about to move in. Security is nil, though management says they are working on that. Other mill apartment buildings nearby have walls to minimize the unappealing appearance of the Dumpsters, and there are lovely flowers at the main entrances. Clocktower Mill's Dumpsters are a visible eyesore. One single petunia bloomed in the "garden" at the front entrance this year. The parking lot is filled with potholes and ruts. I've been a resident for several years and have seen ownership and then management change hands. There used to be a dynamic, professional and energetic management team in our leasing office. I knew every person there by name, because they made a point of introducing themselves and engaging with residents at every opportunity. There used to be financial rewards for renewing leases early to the small select group who decided and acted quickly and it was a fun challenge. This past summer when it came time for me to have to renew, it took ME to place several calls to request the documents necessary, and even then I received them well beyond my anniversary date. Currently, I don't know a single person's name working in our leasing office and I visit that office every bit as often as I have since the day I moved in because they act as the concierge for the property by accepting and holding package deliveries and the like. Okay, I admit this is far less important to many, but it all adds to my growing disappointment. And I was unable to make the necessary arrangements to find alternate housing, so my only recourse was to renew my lease. As for the more important stuff. The property has fallen into considerable disarray and is not well kept. During the summer there is an outside landscaping company, so that much is fine, as it is with the snow removal contractors. The entire building is carpeted and the carpeting in the corridors are always dirty with debris, spills (including pet waste) as they are rarely vacuumed anymore. I can't even remember the last time they were shampooed and they used to get shampooed twice a year at a minimum. The corridor walls aren't maintained either and there are small holes and scuffs everywhere, not to mention a long wooden handrail was ripped from the wall of the east C Wing stairwell last spring and that handrail has now been propped against the wall un-repaired ever since (so, like 8+ months and that's ridiculous). There are a much greater number of residents in my building now who have visiting home healthcare aids and these healthcare aids routinely place twigs and rocks in exterior doors so they can smoke cigars and cigarettes and not get locked out. This allows smoke inside the building, it has caused the doors to be knocked out of alignments by tweaking the hinges so they don't open or close property and thereby adversely affecting security, and the cigar and cigarette filter waste just accumulates because nobody cleans or removes it. Not to mention a number of these aids are incredibly rude when me or any other resident kicks the rock or twig away so the building can be secured. Then there's the change in pet policy, which now allows dogs. I'm a pet lover, but because of my schedule, I'm simply not around enough to have one. That said, there are A LOT of dogs now, including a number of Pitbulls, which are supposedly not allowed by policy (but it obviously isn't enforced). I have no problem with any breed and don't even care that there are Pitbulls (except for one in particular is is always muzzled because of its aggressiveness). My point is management doesn't care except for the occasional notice posted up or text message reminding pet owners to pick up dog waste. And waste bags are provided. Yet still you can't walk anywhere that isn't paved or cement because the amount of dog feces and waste is absolutely disgusting. This is made all the worse because outdoor staircases are built of pressure treated wood, which a number of dogs routinely urinate on. So now all of that urine is absorbed into the wood and the stench is unbearable. And Since I didn't move here with the existing policy that allows dogs in place, I believe I have a right to voice my displeasure without being labeled a whiner simply because if I wanted to live in that type of environment, I would have moved into one. Instead I was was made to simply deal with all of this it or leave. There is a pool in the summer that is well maintained, there is package concierge services, there is a microbrewery literally right across the street and this property is very conveniently located to the highway and other local restaurants and shopping, so I won't give just 1 star as a rating because it isn't all bad. Regardless, until these people get their act together, I would recommend you look for another property... I know I will be.

I found Damato apartments online. Went to see a unit in person, liked it and was given an application to apply, with a 50$ application fee. One for me one for my husband. I was called back given the great news that I was approved and they wanted me to move in for the first of December. I let my current land lord know that I was leaving. (He has already begun showing my current unit.) Then the property calls me back and tells me that the unit I applied to and was approved for is getting renovated and would be 1500+ a month. Which is no fair because that's not what I applied for. They then tell me they have another apartment with the same price in a different but equally nice quiet location. Long story short I get there and there are 10+ mouse traps in the basement. ( that i was told is what they do as a precautionary measure at all of their units HOWEVER the unit that i originally applied for had no mouse traps. Not. One.) It was on a busy road, and it was directly across the street from a cemetery which probably explains their mouse situation. Not to mention the unit was creeky and outdated. I let her know this is not at all what i was looking for nor is it what I applied for and if i had seen this place originally i wouldn't have applied. Leila "lil" jiggetts cursed me out told me i may not be getting my money back (350) and that i could take the mouse apartment or nothing. I already told my landlord I was going to be out by December first which is in a week. I have been asking to speak to a manager for days about this sketchy situation and nothing. I am looking on line two days later the house is still posted as available. No mention of renovations, nothing. Beware that the prices you see online may actually be 300+ dollars more than what you are seeing. MY ADVICE IS DO NOT RENT HERE THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNORGANIZED! I would have cussed leila out if i wasn't at work she was very rude raising her voice and speaking to me like I'm her child. IF YOU DO CHOOSE TO RENT HERE MAKE SURE YOU SEE YOU SEE THE EXACT UNIT YOU WILL BE GETTING, CHECK THE BASEMENT, AND PLEASEEEEE DONT GIVE ANYONE ANY MONEY OR APPLY FOR ANYTHING UNTIL YOU SEE THE UNIT AND NEIGHBORHOOD
