In 6 months, out of 9 appointments he scheduled, 7 of them he cancelled at the last minute on the day of. Tried to give him the benefit of the doubt but after how many rescheduling on his part I started questioning his commitment. Even when I tried calling him to talk on the phone he never did answer maybe afraid? IDK. Always text and it was at least a couple weeks to get a reply from him every time he canceled. I reached out to Gus, the owner of the shop, and I have nothing bad to say about him. He actually reached out right away to me and provided more professional customer service in those 15 mins than I ever got from "K.". After I texted "K" that we should part ways all of a sudden he texted back to reschedule to "fix the situation" with no apologies on his end. I did try to ask for my deposit which he said he couldn't give it back, I guess he needs it more than I do. I was a little nervous and had lots of questions about the piercing itself and the after care. I also had not gotten a piercing in years, so I was worried it would be painful. They were kind and allowed my two friends to come to the back with me to hold my hand (I know... I'm a scaredy cat). Mitch walked me through everything that was going to happen- for example, "okay, you're gonna feel a small pinch first and then you'll feel some pressure." He also said that my only job was to keep breathing. He had me take one deep breath in and then exhale out right as he did the piercing, too. As you can tell, the team is very patient and kind here. This is a great spot for anxious girlies or for your first time getting a piercing. Their piercing and jewelry pricing is all fair. My conch piercing costed $45 plus the 14K gold jewelry I chose. Unlike other shops, they had a huge selection of yellow gold and rose gold options that were actually cute- flowers, stars, moons, etc. On average, I saw the stud earrings were about $60-170 each. They also tallied up my total prior to actually getting the piercing, so there weren't any surprises at the end when I paid. They sent me home with a detailed after care guide too. I tried bringing up the issue of the communication and his resolution was to be upset that I didn't know his schedule and ended up blocking me for even bringing it and I wasn't even trying to offend him I was just trying to book in a time. While it would take him hours to reply when I was trying to schedule it only took him minutes once I brought up the communication. For this reason I would not recommend working with him or trying to schedule maybe you'll have better luck with being a walk in.

In my opinion though, the best customer service comes after the initial piercing. A few weeks after your piercing, they will text and check up to make sure everything is going well. One of my piercings had to be taken out (my fault, not theirs) and they were super helpful for the entire process. They responded to my texts promptly and let me make same day or next day appointments to check out my piercing. They told me what I was doing wrong and switched the earring to one that could better fit the swelling. I ended up taking the piercing out because I didn't want to deal with the swelling anymore but if I had stuck with it, I could have gotten it down with the help from the piercers at Iris. That experience alone has made me want to come back to Iris. The only downside, in my opinion, is that you have to get pierced with a piece of jewelry purchased at Iris. They have a large variety of jewelry that you can be pierced with, which is good and they offer a few on the cheaper side. You just can't bring in your own jewelry to get pierced with unless it was previously purchased from them. This makes the piercing more expensive so just keep this in mind. If you're swapping out a piercing you can bring whatever jewelry you want. The shops itself is clean, calm, and has a good feel to it. There's lots of lights and piercers are available to help you through every step of the process. Overall, I'd highly recommend getting pierced at Iris. While it's more expensive than other places, the after care customer service and the service in store makes it totally worth it.
