I am not from the area but I ordered takeout pizza a year ago based on reviews of the restaurant. It was pretty good. While picking up my pizza that time, I noticed that the other food options being served looked pretty good. Fast forward to today where I'm back in town and decided to revisit the restaurant but eat in. The problems started right as we walked in. When we arrived we were told that it would be a 25 minute wait. Ok, no problem, it's Friday night. What we weren't told was that we could order and THEN it was a 25 minute wait for the food to be cooked. This was confusing because we aren't locals and I had to ask for clarification. When ordering as a party of three, two wanted a beer. We were told that the orders had to be separated to sell two individual beers. Weird, but ok. I ordered a Vesuvius calzone for me, Mac and cheese with bacon for my husband and the blueberry lemon desert to take home plus one beer. Our friend ordered wings, the Vesuvius and a beer. The rest is well, just plain bad restaurant practice. This was the next 40+ minutes (after our 30 minute wait): 1-Vesuvius out for our friend. Lukewarm at best. 2-Almost 10 minutes later- barely warm Mac and cheese with pieces of cold bacon on top. The bacon was basically the thin precooked kind they sell at Costco. 3- About 10 minutes later. Lukewarm wings with barely any sauce. We share the mac and cheese for another 15 minutes while waiting for my calzone and finish it and still waited several minutes after. 4-Vesuvius #2 comes out and is not heated through- I stick my finger in the center and did not feel any significant warmth. There was only a single small meatball cut in half in the entire thing. The crust was soggy throughout from the sauce and likely from sitting and cooling behind the counter. My friend had the same issue with his. We were all hungry and collectively decided to just eat what we got because we knew it would be another hour for fresh food or they would probably just microwave what we had if we took each item back up as it came out lukewarm. If the food had been served hot it would have probably been good. Getting our food served all together would have been not only appropriate but would have made the meal a better experience instead of having to go up to the counter four times. Well make that 5 because I had to go ask for the dessert to be made - (while I saw at least four employees standing around in the kitchen area ‍ ) that dessert was the best part of the meal and the only reason for the 2nd star. Last note regarding the beer- I saw pitchers of beer being taken to patrons which confused me because I was told "we're not a bar" when we tried to order a beer each for 2 people. I did ask about this when leaving and was told that as long as there were more than one person with ID they could order a pitcher. A pitcher is double the size of 2 individual pints. Makes zero sense that one pitcher with the equivalent of at least 4 beers can be served for 2 on one ticket but 2 individual beers cannot. Worse is that the guy at the counter didn't even think to suggest ordering a pitcher as an option. The whole counter order /pick up yourself is definitely lacking for a sit down meal at a restaurant that's not fast food. Beer is the only thing served to the table by staff. It's compounded by the fact that you have to go up multiple times to get each item and listen as other food is going out to other orders in between. Not getting hot food is terrible considering it appears that the food is served as soon as it's ready. I literally thought the restaurant must have had issues with someone getting burned by food and they were intentionally not heating food up. I also don't think it is unreasonable to expect that 2 exact calzones ordered at the same time can't be prepared and served at the same time. Pros for the restaurant- it has a nice atmosphere and very reasonable prices. The portion size on the calzone was large and shareable. read more

Love the Pie, the food, the atmosphere, it's all good. We sat out on the patio and it was perfect. We ordered the pizza of the month, El Guapo Pie Thin Crust lightly coated with a zesty Chili-Lime Salt and topped with creamy Chipotle Ranch Sauce, Pepperoni, Chorizo Sausage, sweet Candied Jalapenos, crisp Bacon, whole milk Mozzarella, and Red Onions. Finished with fresh Cilantro and a squeeze of fresh Lime. It was so good, the candied jalapeños were really fun, great flavor, no heat. The pizza was even better the next day, the flavors really came together even more. 5/5 Our standard pepperoni. Tons of cheese and covered pepperoni. It's a heavy pizza but really good . 5:5 Best Ranch dressing ever. We dip our pizza crust in it and the kids fight over it. 5/5 I tried their Caesar Salad, and was a little disappointed. It had a ton of banana peppers on it and the dressing was just okay. 3/5 It's counter service but the staff is always friendly. read more

First time getting Pie Pizzeria and we actually bough it on PIE DAY! I read reviews online that this is the original pizza joint in Ogden, so we wanted to try it. We got two large pizzas, one Hawaiian pizza and one Margherita. It was plenty of food for 4 people. The crust was good, and I typically prefer my crust thick/doughy. Honestly.. the pizza however was okay. The wait for it was quick and I was impressed by that, but the taste was just alright. Nothing spectacular about the pizza. Pricing is decent, but not sure I'd try it again. read more

The pizza did not disappoint! The combination of toppings worked beautifully with regard to the Wise Guy, and the Greek pizza. The crust was cooked to crunchy perfection just the way I like my pizza. I could tell that the ingredients used on the pizza were fresh and of good quality. The Blueberry Lemon custard pizza was a pleasant surprise on the taste buds to top off my meal. I will most definitely be back to eat at this pizzeria again when I come back to town. read more

We had a group of approximately 30 to 40 people as we were in town for a soccer tournament. This was the perfect place for all of us to gather and order separately for our families and there were plenty of tables to accommodate all of the kids and adults. The cheese bread was amazing! And the pizzas were outstanding. The salads were generous portioned also, and the bacon was made fresh. There is alcohol for the adults as well so again, the perfect place for us to gather after the game. There was also an outdoor patio area for additional seating, but we opted to stay inside since it was still fairly warm (summer evening in Ogden!) :) there was also ample parking for our entire group. If we were ever go back to Ogden, we would definitely visit again! Definitely highly recommended!!! read more

Checking out the Ogden area and had a 1.5 hour ride home so a meal before the ride was in the plan. Now this place offers a covered outdoor area with some heating and was very nice, only problem no dogs; disappointed. Ordered a 14 inch sausage and pepperoni pizza and was disappointed as well! The problem: although they make their own fresh dough, it's thicker than the Earths crust, reminds me of Pizza Hut. The sauce had a sweetness to it but tasted like canned and not homemade, needed more Basel, Oregano and Marjoram. Lastly the pizza had more cheese than the Alps have snow! The take out was fast and service friendly although the bathroom was out of hand towels but clean. After the fact I found out they have a thin crust so maybe the experience would have been different. read more

Always a fun vibe, but I just don't think it's actually "Utah's best pizza." The crust was undercooked and doughy, and there was way too much cheese for my liking. This has happened several times which is very unfortunate because the food is actually good. Went there tonight and even though the restaurant was close to empty they told us it would take an hour and a half to bake our pizza. There were probably 6 employees just standing in the back talking doing nothing. The employee we were attempting to order from was very disinterested and was basically talking us out of ordering the entire time. Pretty sad because this is the 4th time this exact thing has happened. Went down the street to a family favorite Tony's pizza and they got us right in. The pizza is good, but on this Saturday evening they ran out of cups and ice. I hate drinking warm soda. When I asked about it, I was told, "the machine makes its own ice. There's nothing I can do." I was quoted 25 min I arrived about 30 minutes after I placed the order then waited almost another 30 minutes till my name was called, there was a lot of people also quoted much shorter wait times then they had to wait. Just be up front and tell the customer how long it is actually going to take. read more

What a mistake. 2hrs and no pizza to find out driver and manager had quit during my delivery. So after 2hrs wasted and starving I called The Pie Pizzaria and 45min later awesome pizza at my door. Thank You!!! The only complaint I have is that they exposed my stupidity in ordering from Dominos in the first place. I will order from these guys again. read more

Definitely a busy restaurant on a marathon weekend but we enjoyed our food throughly. My daughter enjoyed all the pictures and memorabilia on the walls. We enjoyed the outdoor area as well. There were some stray cats that probably lived in the area that my daughter was in love with. It was fun. The staff was helpful and kind. And I loved that you could seat yourself so you can pick what kind or environment you got. read more

The best pizza in UT. I am a fan of NYC style thin crust pizza. But in UT I found this amazing pizza place that satisfies pizza cravings because of the portions that are huge, the dessert pie that is so much fun to eat, and the nice and inviting atmosphere of friendly and generous staff as well as a fire pit. I loved my vegetarian pizza and dessert and ate the leftovers for a few more days. The vegetarian pizza was the most endowed vege pizza I ever had and savored every bite. Just look at the picture! Stopped in for some grub with friends and family. I felt the pizza was all high quality ingredients and full of cheese. We were a larger group so We shared a variety of pizzas to include an all meat, Chicken bacon ranch, cheese, supreme and started with a pull apart cheese bread pizza The pull apart cheese sounded better than it tasted. It was good and I would not want to deter you fro It. The cheese near the center was the best bites. The outer edges just lacked the cheese. If there was one topping that was spot on I would say order it with bacon. Their bacon was cooked perfectly and just the right flavor. We celebrated my dad's Birthday here last month. I love that they have the heated patio area outside - esp with covid restrictions in place. It was nice to sit out there and enjoy our pizza & blow out my dad's cake. I think that I may possibly like their vegan options better than their regular pie flavors - although the bbq chicken is pretty good - I think I like the Vegan version better. I really wish I could provide a better review, but the reality is two stars is already a stretch as it is. Not our first time visiting The Pie, but very likely the last. We stopped by last weekend and as you can expect, they had a decent crowd. We weren't in a big hurry, so a slightly extended wait for the pizza was going to be fine. When we placed our order, they told us our two pizzas (1 small pepperoni and 1 medium cheese) would take 40-minutes to cook. We were good with this. They proceeded to give us our drink cups. They were out of normal drink cups, so they gave us the 8oz water cups for our sodas. No big deal. When we attempted to find a place to sit, 50% of the tables were dirty, awaiting cleanup. (We now understand why they had no regular size cups... they were all dirty and still on tables.) Here's the frustration. After 1 hour, our small pepperoni pizza was ready. The cheese was still not ready. The cheese pizza took 1.5 hours. We just took the pizza to go, as we didn't anticipate a two hour stay for dinner. I can accept delays, due to staffing. It's part of life nowadays. However, there were plenty of people in the kitchen and one person could have cleared 10 of the dirty tables in less than an hour. Only one table was cleaned while we were there. Their pizza has always been okay, but this visit was underwhelming. I really hope they can use this feedback to improve.
