Stopped in here on a Sunday afternoon in search of the full sour pickles of my youth. I have been buying them from the vendor at the local farmers markets but they were never quite the same. After reading some of the reviews on Google and here on Yelp I decided to give this place a try. I must say I was not disappointed. Not only did I find the pickles that I was looking for but I picked up the song peppers and garlic for the wife. Wow I saw on the website that they do a number to farmers markets around the state , oddly enough they don't appear to go to any of the ones locally here in South Bergen. But that's okay , Teaneck is not that far for a ride on a Sunday afternoon. The woman who owns the place was extremely helpful and pleasant. The prices were in line with those I pay at the flea market so I have to say that they are good. Bottom line , I'll be back. read more

Very frustrating experience. I came from New York and took a detour on my way to Newark Airport specifically to visit this pickle shop because of the great reviews. I arrived about an hour after they were supposed to be open, but the store was closed with no sign on the door and no one there. I drove back again around noon after noticing the lights were on. I went inside and asked if they were open, and the gentleman said yes. Then a woman from a U-Haul vehicle yelled that they were not open and said that, because they are kosher, they could not sell anything until 1:00 p.m. I completely understand that businesses may have religious observances or adjusted hours, but those hours should be clearly posted online and on the door. After making two trips and receiving conflicting information, I was extremely frustrated. Unfortunately, I will not be trying to visit this location again. read more

I have lived in Texas for 30 yrs but grew up in up on the east coast. There are some things you just can't get in Texas. A very well done sour pickle is hard to find. My online order was a gift from heaven. I bought the horseradish and traditional full sour and both are amazing. Their sun dried tomatoes and olives are worth an order. This place is overall unbelievable. It's a one of a kind noshing store right in Teaneck. They keep coming up with new recipes as far as the Pickles, Pickled Condiments, Olives and there killer product " KRELISH". It's everything you want in one. And love that they totally expanded there candy line. They now have a full line of jelly belly, fine chocolates from Ashers, Koppers chocolate & many varieties of Halvah. Let's talk Platters: they do anything from Pickles, olives & Candy. I always pre order, my platters cause on Friday it's like Platter Heaven!!!! And Leslie is always a pleasure on the phone or in person, actually all the staff is especially the guys there always with a joke and such great salesman.... I must say I also got pickles from Harlem at the farmers market and in the Peekskill farmers market. Same treatment! It was a younger guy in Harlem, a guy in Peekskill also, not friendly and picked out the smallest pickles against me asking for bigger ones. Again I traveled from the Bronx hoping g for a better experience. I must say I miss Guss pickles, I was treated very nicely! Also tasting wasn't an issue. The pickle guys were extremely nice and great salespeople. Also the Hospitals Farmers market on Pelham pkwy very nice... my last time trying picklicious. So I originally came across this place through an outdoor event in Ridgewood. The guy was super friendly and let us try different pickles. I ended up buying some and loved them. I cut some up for an event I had and everyone raves about them. I went to the store in teaneck to buy more. The new pickle and hot/spicy are my favorite! The store is cute and the lady is nice there. They offer a lot more than just pickles! Chocolates which were surprisingly fresh. I bought a small bag just in case and they were not old at all! The jelly rings and creamy peanut butter are my favorites and i love how they have chocolate espresso. They also offer olives and have a little olive bar, they have a pickle bar to for sliced pickles, olive oil, hummus, and more! I will keep coming back! Always delicious!!!!!!! read more

Wow.. What a disappointing shopping experience. If you want to walk out feeling angry and treated like garbage run to this store when this lady is here. I have ordered from here before online but noticed they were in driving distance in Teaneck. I thought to myself well I'm running low and I can pick up my kids from school and make it before 4PM and re-stock on some kosher dills which my kids love. As soon as we walk in the lady at the store says she'll be right with us - cool. She comes over after a very short wait and I ask if we can have samples? She says they don't do samples anymore. I kind of get it but also I've never been told no samples if I were buying - I mean even if the charged for a sample so I can try something before buying it would be better than being treated like some sort of sub human beggar. I say "Okay but I want to buy a gallon and I really don't want to buy a gallon if I can't try it". Her response is - we only allow samples of chips. Me..... Okay but I really can't have 1 sample? I really want to buy a gallon. Her - okay fine but it has to be a small one - (she proceeds to dig into the barrel to ensure she finds the smallest pickle she can find) I try it and I ask for a gallon. I look over at the hot and spicy and ask about sampling more - again she says chips are okay but.. At this point I'm pretty annoyed so I ask my daughter if she wants to try the sweet chips. She does - and I ask for a quart of those. Honestly - just why? It's not even what she said but how she said it. I felt completely uninvited in this store and will never go back again. The two places I buy from are here and Doc Pickle. I'll be exclusively Doc Pickle going forward. Unfortunately we really needed pickles since my kids love them so I sucked it up and paid for it and walked up. I'm conflicted about this review. To start off I loved the way that they were packaged while it took me awhile to open they ensured that no spills would occur during transport. Now for the review... I feel that the pickles tasted that way they were supposed but I am not a fan of the horseradish ones. I expected crispy, crunchy, sour and then a kick of spicy. I got the salty not sour, a small crunch but none of the spicy and I didn't enjoy the after taste. I can see why some people enjoy this item but it just wasn't for me. Ok - I NEVER thought I'd walk into a store who sells pickles! I've always been the one to just buy em at my local deli or grocery store, but I'm so glad I ran across this spot! You can taste the difference in the pickles that they sell and the quality in every bite! Plus checking in with yelp can get you a "pickle on a stick" ... while compared to a regular grocery store, they're more expensive, they are worth every ounce of the bite! Not only are the pickles fantastic. Not only do they have more varieties than one ever could have imagined existed. They are also really good and nice people! I thought I had lost my wallet at their stand at the Montclair Farmer's market and Carla helped me for THREE DAYS looking for it!! She called, emailed, and texted the owner of the farmer's market, followed up with me multiple times, went out of her way to be helpful and empathetic. I haven't experienced such friendly, helpful-when-you-don't-have-to-be, genuine kindness in so long. The guys at the farmer's market in Montclair are also so nice. Great place that meets all of your pickle needs. When you approach the door, the glorious scent of pickles wafts through before you open it. For a pickle lover like myself, this is purely paradise. They have such a wide variety to choose from that you can't help but want to buy everything. They also have olives, chips, candy, etc. The staff is helpful with getting you what you need and they're always courteous. Pickle Licious is definitely an equal to, in some ways better, than any NYC pickle like Guss'. Whatever style (whole, chips or spears) or flavor profile (sour, 3/4, 1/2, new, kosher, sweet, etc.), we have not tasted any pickles that were not worthy with right amount of crunch. Our favorites are the whole 3/4 sour and full sour, but that's just a taste preference. Pickle Licious has excellent cured olives which we also love. Sweet tooth? They have great handmade chocolates and other sweets. We were offered samples of whatever we asked for and the staff seemed quite helpful. The Pickle Lady might seem a bit grumpy, but not unfriendly. read more

This place was a pleasant surprise when I friend and I ventured to NJ from some burgers at White Manna down the road. Robyn talked to us for a while about pickles, and the whole place definitely smells like all kinds of pickles and olives and stuff, but it was really really cool. These guys came to 23rd street in New York and had a stand open and they had all the pickles in buckets and smaller containers lined up in front of them enabling potential customers to give each a try. The first one I tried was the Sweet Chili Chips and it was absolutely delicious. It is a little spicy but not too overwhelming. I ended up buying a $5 container. Seems like a place like Pickle Licious can only exist in this part of the country. I love pickles but I never knew that you could have a selection of pickles like this. My first trip was somewhat intimidating. Luckily there were other customers in the shop and I got to observe the process. The cashier/salesperson helps you get whatever you want. So don't even think about helping yourself. They have barrels of pickles near the door and I got a sample of a few: Kosher, Half Sour, Spicy. The spicy was good, though more sour than I expected. The 100% winner for me was the Half Sour and I've been back multiple times for them. These remind me of the way you get them in Japan: from a food stall on the street, served on a stick. They're slightly pickled with salt but not all the way so they retain some fresh crunch and are more clearly cucumber than pickle. They are perfection. Speaking of on a stick, they will serve you a pickle on a stick if you just want a small treat and you're in the area. Note that they have a $10 min credit charge so if you want a pickle on a stick then bring cash (or check in on Yelp!). In addition to pickles they have pickled tomatoes, sauerkraut, a variety of olives, and bulk candy. I loved Pickle Licious and their offerings so much I got my dad a 3 month subscription where they send different pickles and olives to his home in Las Vegas. If you are a pickle lover, this is your paradise. Used to see these guys at the Montclair farmer's market and they were super friendly, let you try samples, and I became obsessed with their horseradish pickles. Finally went to the actual store. I lost that special feeling for the horseradish pickles but fell in love with the 'new' or half-sour pickles. SO GOOD. They also have a bunch of other pickled items there as welll as snacks! I ended up getting a mix of various olives for my dad because he is a huge olive lover. I can't stand olives but he loved 'em, particularly the garlic stuffed olives. Cute little store. Every once in a while a business presents, for itself, an entirely appropriate name; something that sums them up and accurately describes what they do or sell. Pickle Licious is one of these businesses. They sell pickles that are simply delicious. Other stuff that would all pretty much fall into the same category, too. I guess that Pickle And Olive Licious would be rather tedious to pronounce as well as create a difficulty with signage but, rest assure, they are the real deal. I always buy multiple pints of everything at the Pleasantville farmers market. My absolute favorite is the green olives stuffed with garlic. Great flavor right amount of saltiness. I like a little heat. The mixed hot olives and the whole Hot pickles are amazing. To combined spicy hot and flavor is majestic. Wine, a wedge of Parmesan cheese and those hot pickles and olives are a great combo. I have not traveled to jersey to visit but I see them every week at the farmers market. read more

Finally had a chance to checkout Pickle Licious and I was not disappointed! This is a great local business with quality products. My sister found a sweet groupon and we were able to use that for our purchase. They have a wide variety of pickles, spreads, and olives which are almost all available to try. The service was excellent, the woman at the counter was so welcoming and helpful. I personally loved the classic sour pickles and the lemon mediterranean olive mix. Life changing. Sweet like gherkins, dry like half sour, but with a kick from the horseradish. Pickle-licious also has delicious eclectic jams, pastes, candies and nuts. Anticipating the Jewish holidays, I was just planning the "when" of my annual pilgrimage to Pickle Licious when I received the unexpected yet magical email offering garlic junkies like me up to two 2-for-1 $25 coupons at PL... OMG - bliss! I must confess that I am a "PL" groupie from way back. I have followed them now through three locations and many a near-weekly farmers' market (not to mention the soon closing DePiero's...). In short, my extended family goes crazy over PL's sour tomatoes and full sours (memories of very sweet RH's past...!) Anyway, I want to report that the owner did a most generous thing in allowing me to use my two coupons at once. I realize that the point of offering the discount while requiring multiple visits is to encourage separate visit/spending opportunities - and I can only assure the owner that her purpose was achieved. I will be back. I'm a regular (whether in the store or elsewhere). I love PL's quality products and I tell everyone I meet. So while I am not proposing that others take advantage of the owner's generosity of spirit (and my breach of the clear terms of the coupons), I do want to acknowledge her kindness and share the goodwill it generated in me. I'd like to publicly say "thank you" for making my pre-Rosh Hashanah week just that much easier. One more thing...the coupon gave me an unexpected treat in that it encouraged me to purchase products I have not historically tried...I usually just stick with the aforesaid sours/sour tomatoes. But today I also bought horseradish sweet pickles, some pitted kalamatas and the sliced banana peppers. While you can sample them there, it's just not the same. They are simply delish.
