I've been struggling to find someone near my since I moved to sunset, and found Mandy on yelp. I was able to book a last minute 90 min deep tissue appointment. We started off talking about what has been hurting me, problem areas, and what I usually do for pain relief. She was so intuitive to feel what was sensitive and needed extra or less pressure during the session. And she is very easy to talk to and explain the what's and why's of our body's pain. I'm pretty sore after, but that's because I have such tight muscles and they've been ignored for so long that they are sensitive. She even did some gua sha on me, which she was very careful to explain how it works and the potential redness it leaves temporarily. I've had gua sha before so I dont mind, but some people could be scared of it.

She is able to pack up her massage table or chair and take it to your house or you can go to her (which is less expensive). She has even come to my house during a party and setup her massage chair and given $1.00 a minute massages. It was great for me and my guests. He showed up after a little while. When I tried to tell him where my problem is, where it hurts, his first response was, "shhh dont talk so loud". Really ? Okay this is already a huge red flag. After 2 hours of him massaging me and using hot stone without my permission. My pain did not improve even a little bit! Why ? Because he didnt take the time to listen to me, where my pain is. He did not know any pressure points, he did not try to feel out where the muscle knots are. I was in constant pain while he massaged the wrong areas. He did not care and the massage session was over. Horrible stay away. Beware of all these fake 5 star reviews by his chinese friends. This is not someone who knows what he is doing. Just another scammer from China.

I requested a woman with strong hands and the manager placed me with Lina. The massage started lighter than I expected but once she got warmed up Lina was exceptional. She understands the body and was adept at using her elbows, fists and fingertips strongly without it being painful or uncomfortable. She checked in with me about the pressure throughout the massage and was otherwise quiet and intentional. I appreciated her calm and knowledgeable energy. I specifically asked for more time on the face and scalp, which she accommodated me without any further explanation. The bed and oil were warm and the room, while minimally decorated was clean and comfortable. They allowed me to play my own meditation music which made the experience more relaxing for me. After the massage I paid and there was no pressure to tip, but I was happy to do so as I was more than happy with the service. I was served water and offered tea as well. There are better prices in the area, but for the quality of the location and the massage I think the price was worth it!

To be fair it's a little confusing because you put a $10 deposit down so what you see is your total is not actually the total. I still found it offputting as did other reviewers.

As she was getting started she asked if I liked medium or hard pressure - I said hard, and boy was it (in the best way); she did also check in a few times to make sure the pressure was okay - especially when she was working on a particularly gnarly spot. As she quickly discovered, my shoulders and neck were a mess - she managed to get all of the knots out and still have time to spare for everything else. Who knew my calves were so tight? Not me! I would 100% recommend Jenny. My only problem now is figuring out how many massages I can responsibly budget into my life.

Luckily, I had my husband drop me off, but if you need to park, I would definitely come a little earlier to give yourself some extra time! My massage therapist was Christine, who was very nice and seemed knowledgeable about her techniques. However, I indicated on my form that I preferred medium pressure and was surprised by how hard the pressure ended up being. I actually developed a giant purple bruise on the side of my glutes afterward, which was pretty unsettling especially since this was a prenatal massage. She was also very social and this was probably the first massage I've had where I chatted throughout almost the entire thing lol. Between the conversation and the much deeper pressure than I was expecting, I unfortunately didn't find the experience as relaxing as I had hoped. I think she could be a good fit for someone who enjoys very deep pressure and likes chatting during their massage, but it wasn't really the experience I was looking for.
