Allegedly Robin from corporate management offered some residents rooms at the Hilton and Prorated rent for the 2 weeks without water. When I asked to receive the same compensation, it was refused. I came in from Texas to see about leasing a 2/1 or 2/2. The lack of professionalism from the first second was horrendous. I was talk they didn't have property to walk, they didn't offer to show amenities or anything. They wanted me to immediately lease on line with no help from staff as if I'm supposed to just guess that the units are up to par with my standards. Then I'm told to wait on another woman because the two women in the front are just temps from other locations. The woman I've awaited shows up, immediately skips over me, addresses every one in the room including a person who walked in after and still has yet to speak to me with any kind of respect or acknowledgement. She then proceeds to sit in her office with several other people never addressing my questions. Don't bother leasing here. You can already tell from the moment you walk in what you're getting yourself into. read more

----UPDATE REVIEW 2/6/2020 after move out---- I am in desperate need of management/ landlord to call and get things right. I have lived a year and now moved out. Very first month, I had a mechanic to come and remove the restrooms inner door and a shower head. He took it with him and told us we will be fine since he will make "WORK ORDER". Well, after my move-out I have found out that he NEVER MADE A WORK ORDER. So I have to pay for a door and shower head that he took. I have kindly asked before my move out , Hoping they would check before charging us later. And nothing seemed to be done. I dont need that inner door or the shower head. The reason why It was not there is because mechanic took it with him. I totally understand about the drip pans, cleaning and carpet replacement they charged. Even If we have cleaned our place well If the management wants to charge us, go ahead. But trying to have us pay for your mechanics mistakes is never understandable. OMG I just found out that meth smells like cat pe.... The floors in this place have been saturated with this smell from day 1. Now they are giving money to write 5 star reviews. It is not going to get any better no matter how many 5 star reviews they buy. Between the drug busts and the corruption I'm in tears every day. when I 1st came a wall was soaked with water and came down in an apartment. The poor fix it guy was asker to rebuild the entire wall. He just put his keys on the desk and left. They try to cut corners all the time with people who are not contractor. The purpose of maintenance is to fix small problems and not to rebuild walls. The place is old and worn out. It needs to be torn down and rebuilt, the water system is so messed up it will never be right. The elevators need at very least to be replaced. as per stated in my last review ive spoken to "all" personell about these issues and nothing gets done as per usual. since my last review some behaviors have gotten better some worse. for example the addition of the new doors on the outside of the "1" building have enabled the thought of a secure place but that comes tumbling down in an instant when you see residents opening doors for any individual that comes along at any time of day, or the classic just jamming it open to come back later when sun goes down. the other two buildings are extremely unsafe as residents cant even get their mail delivered. mail, packages, parcels, you name it's all missing and or opened already. residents cant even put a camera on their door as anyone can just walk up and cover it anytime day or night as there is nothing stopping someone from doing so. read more

Been here a year and blessedly about to move out. Where do I start? Bait and switched on apts so I showed up the day of my move in to find an unrenovated brown nightmare they hadn't even changed the stained carpet in. They promised, several times, it had central air. It does not. I spoke with 5 - that's FIVE - other people they did this to, I'm sure there's more. Didn't have hot water for 9 months. Elevator has been out for almost 3 months. I'm disabled and on the 4th floor. Laundry facilities not maintained let alone cleaned. Changed our locks to hackable bluetooth inconveniences and falsely claim they are more secure. Clearly security is not a priority as multiple vehicles have been broken into, including mine. And vandalized, including my back window getting shattered by a BB gun. I've reported maintenance issues multiple times that still aren't fixed, like the kitchen light and dishwasher leaking. Hundreds of dollars of added 'fees' sneakily added to rent so I pay almost 150 more than my lease says. Then they have the audacity to announce a 200 rent increase if we resign. We did not. And the final hubristic indignity - just got a voicemail today saying if we cancel our intent to vacate and resign a new lease, we get 500 whole dollars off August rent! I'd rather be homeless. Don't rent here!!! I chose this place for the low prices (should've been my first sign) which honestly aren't even that low. After all their bs fees I pay ~$1,450/mo for a 550sqft unit. I read reviews of this place and saw management has recently changed right before my move in so I had hope. That hope is all gone. To start with my move in: I was coming form out of state so unfortunately everything was done virtually (I guess maybe my mistake). I was quoted and applied for their Sommerset unit only to show up and be in the Sienna unit (which is listed 100sqft less than what I thought I was getting). When I called the office I was told "no those are the same unit and the same sqft. Uhhh no, that's not what their website says? I didn't fight it cause I was there with a truck load of stuff and just had to make it work. When I did show up to move in not only was it the wrong floor plan but basic cleaning had not been done. There was a patched hole in the wall that had not been repainted (in fact the whole unit hadn't been repainted before I moved in), dried liquid on the closet and bathroom doors, black smudges on the bathroom wall, and the caulk all the way around the bathtub was completely separated. Communication is nonexistent between office staff and residents. They changed our locks without sending out an email notifying us first (my poor neighbor was locked out of his unit at 10pm because he didn't know how to get in), changed the laundry room lock and locked us out (kicker is when I complained to the complex manager she said she had no clue the lock was being changed - how do you manage a property but not know a lock is being changed??), they shut off our water for about 45 minutes without letting us know. When they came to reglazing my bathtub they were supposed to give me notice so I could get my cat out of the unit for the day due to the toxic fumes. Instead they just showed up during the day while I was at work, and call me around lunch time saying they didn't realize I had a cat in the unit (my lease says I do and I told the maintenance guy I do!!!) so could they put him in my bedroom. Luckily my cat did not get sick from this. The maintenance guys for the complex are very nice and as helpful as they can be. However, the complex hired some incompetent people to remodel the unit above me. Not only did this include constant drilling/rolling noise (enough to shake my whole unit) for 2 and a half weeks but it also included me getting two leaks through my ceiling. On 2/24 I heard dripping coming from somewhere, when I went in to the kitchen I noticed a bubble of water in my ceiling. I immediately call for maintenance. Instead of one of the two of them coming to my unit to look at the leak, both of them went to the empty unit upstairs. While they were up there the bubble of water grew 3x and started streaming. I had to call the office again and pretty much threaten that if the bubble burst in my kitchen (even though I had a bucket it would've gone all over me and the floor) that I would not be paying rent for someone to finally come cut the ceiling open. So currently, I have a big unpatched hole in my ceiling. Later that night (around 12:30am) I hear a dripping from the bathroom ceiling. About 10 minutes later I check again and the ceiling has started to warp like in the kitchen. I call emergency maintenance to come out. He goes up to the unit about me again to stop the leak, then stops in my unit, looks for a few minutes then says he'll be back in the morning. That was Thursday night, they still have not been back in to check on it. So, I have a whole in my kitchen ceiling and standing water in my bathroom ceiling. The maintenance guys also confirmed these leaks were from the people remodeling the unit upstairs. They took apart sinks and then didn't put the stop valve in correctly when putting them back together so they leaked for 12+ hours until coming in to my unit. We also share the cost of water as a unit so I'm sure that's going to have some increase in our water bill. And with all of this bs I'm sure they will try to charge me a buttload for move out fees read more

Try to avoid this place if you can..I lived there for a year because it was "affordable" but it was pretty terrible. I'm overall a super simple person so I skated by with little requests but once things went wrong the complex truly showed it's colors. If you ever need something from the managers, odds are you'll have to reach out 10 times before you're heard or taken care of. TONS of turnover in the office. Every blue moon you'll get a good person who seems to care about the people living there but they usually quit/get transferred after a month due to the stress. I had a cockroach infestation. The exterminator "wasn't surprised" and said he's at the complex every week. He did a great job over weeks to exterminate THOUSANDS of cockroaches that were already living between my walls and cabinets. I was obviously pretty upset about this and had to get a hotel because it was inhabitable and the complex agreed to reimburse me for the hotel, but never did. Don't even get me started on the stress of getting my pets out, cleaning after extermination, my air fryer/kitchen supplies were destroyed. Overall had absolutely no sympathy or even time from the managers. Power went out all the time, fire place rarely worked, pelaton that was advertised as a perk of the complex during leasing process isn't even free...NOW let's get started on the people..lots of "lost" people in the this complex. Some just trying to get by, but lots of people with substance abuse. It was pretty common to be woken up by screaming or by police lights. I have been screamed at multiple times in just passing even in the middle of the day. Once again, I'm an easy going person so I just try to keep my head down and mind my business. Highly recommended If you're going to live here. I can't speak first hand but other residents have also experienced mold issues and hot water problems. ALSO CHECK YOUR LEASE! Mine made no sense, it was a 13 month + a couple days vs a year and didn't match my Welcome letter. I didn't catch this and it ended up screwing me once I was trying to move out. There are also quite a bit of additional fees to your base lease so definitely expect to pay a few extra hundred dollars...I had a really hard time getting proper lease information before moving in and it was like pulling teeth so that whole process was rushed unfortunately. I asked for a lease to look over before signing for 2 weeks but never saw one until I was there with the Uhaul.. Definitely dumb on my end but I had already put all my eggs in this place and didn't have a lot of time to keep looking. When I arrived they charged me utilities for months even though I had xcel coverage, that was a pain to resolve and get reimbursed..and my closet door was removed because they were waiting on a part which never came in. As an easy person I just removed the closet door and stored it away. Replaced the door with a curtain and really dropped it...However that's coming now to bite me because they're taking it out of my security deposit (or atleast I am assuming.) The maintenance man who was working on this no longer works there so I have no proof of the situation...I moved out in December and have called/emailed 10 times about my security deposit. Have not received one call back, and just got a check in the mail yesterday (3/23) for $20...The place was clean (also not very clean when I moved in!) and really can't think of another reason my $500 deposit would be docked. The scum landlords steal tenant money. We are charged common area fees for inaccessible and/or nonfunctioning common areas. The elevator (4 floor building) was out for 2 months over the holidays until almost February after constant malfunction was reported in August (we got the exact same "waiting in a part" excuse for 5 months). The laundry rooms are full of perpetually broken equipment. At the moment we have 3 functional washers for 145 units. The dog shit always all over the ground is rather offputting. The often over-full dumpsters are infested with critters. The management here, though, is as bad as the ownership. They seem to actively avoid tenant relations (or contact in general). When one does come in contact one is lied to. They are shady. They always find ways to keep the deposits in addition to charging even more money upon move out. They refuse to inform tenants of malfunctions on the property (water shutoffs, electricity shutoffs, ...the elevator....) but are quick to send aggressive, authoritative notices of inspections where one will be (illegally) required to leave the unit while they inspect for lease violations. Oh, we have been without hot water with absolutely no notice or communication from the office (unless you count calling them repeatedly for 20 minutes to inquire when it will be fixed and what vacant unit they are allowing tenants to use for bathing) for 37 hours. read more

Let's just start by I'm on month 4 almost month 5 living here. I had a water break while I was out of town. So maintenance came and fixed it. Here's the problem I had no idea no phone call no email this was going on in the place I a single 22 year old female living alone, well live. I find out by walking into my apartment with a man in my apartment with no notification anything is going on. Then got scolded for not seeing the water mark that all happened while I was gone. Okay I let it go. Well only a little bit of time passes, another pipe breaks and is leaking in my apartment. I travel a lot with my job so I was home for 5ish days leave and day I come back I go straight to work. I get a phone call once again getting scolded for not reporting the problem. I haven't been there. I explain and then they apologize they didn't know. And say I a single 22 year old girl can stay there well these men I don't know re drywall and fix the problem It's not your responsibility to know I pay my rent and utilities. My life is not part of their contract or business, it doesn't matter if I'm there or not, I'm paying for it. So because of all of this and not being notified of people being in and out of my apartment I haven't felt safe or comfortable living there. To top it off when I decided to go back, There are dirty towels that are not mine shoved in my sink, in corners of the floor on my bathroom, oh and get this, in my pantry with all my food in there. Towel rack in the bathroom half ripped off the wall, brand new shower curtain ruined, because they drywalled they didn't cover anything, my brand new couches covered in dust from the dry wall repairs. In that line of work # 1 rule is to cover and tape off all rooms and furniture to not let dust get everywhere, (not my first dry wall rodeo). Paint on the floor funny part is my walls where the repairs were were not re painted there's just patches everywhere. So for not being in my apartment for a month and water shut off utilities not being used, no updates no knowing what's going on no returned calls to me this is what I came home to AND I PAID ALL UTILITIES AND RENT FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO LIVE IN THESE AWFUL CIRCUMSTANCES. I have lived in many apartment complexes but this is one of the best! The staff is always friendly and willing to please. Events scheduled every month for the family! And the grounds are clean and well kept. I had s maintenance issue and given all of the apartments that are here it was done in a timely manner and followed up for satisfaction! I was moving from California to Colorado. I called 52nd marketplace in Arvada CO and spoke to Danielle Montoya the assistant manager of the apartment complex. I needed a month to month lease because we were eventually were to by a house in Colorado. She told me they have a month to month lease, gave me pricing, sent me an email with this info. And sent pictures of the apartment. 2 1/2 weeks later I called to firm things up ( two weeks before we would be there) and spoke to someone else who told me that I was misinformed and that there was only a 6 month or longer lease. I was moving in 2 weeks and had to start all over looking for an apartment. I was so upset and stressed out. Do not consider leasing from this place. The new management staff is a 100% improvement over the last. It's about time AMC made the change and believe me, what previous reviews say about the old management staff is true. Since the arrival of Stevie and Sharee, everything that I've asked to have repaired has been taken care of very quickly. Before, I asked to have the same three things fixed... countless times and mind you these were issues that were present when I moved into my apartment 1.5 years ago. These ladies care about the residents. It was made even more apparent to me when they sought me out to verify that the repairs had been made. My husband and I lived at 52nd Marketplace for about a year and a half. We would still be living there, had it not been for my husband receiving a job offer in Iowa. We loved the location of the apartment! There is plenty of shopping, restaurants and Olde Town literally within minutes from the complex. There is a light rail station that is being put in, and should be up and running soon. Otherwise, it is about a 20-25 minute drive into downtown Denver, which I don't think is a bad drive at all. The staff has improved dramatically over the period of time that we were living there. There is a new manager, and she will work with you and take the time out to address any and all issues, as long as you communicate with her. I can't stress enough how important communication is. By making all requests through the office they can and will track everything and make sure you are completely satisfied with the work that has been done. She is very personable and goes above and beyond for her residents. My husband and I both appreciated her and everything she did for us. I would highly recommend this apartment community. Like I said, we would still be living there had it not been for us moving to Iowa. read more

Maintenance is practically non existent. Staff is difficult. 1 1/2 years here and still have problems that existed when I moved in. I wouldn't reccomend this place to anyone. Staff was very rude when I told them that they could not come in because it was not a good time. That was after waiting for months for repairs. They lie about having fixed things and say that there is no problem when there is. Staff locks the doors to the office and club house for hours to watch soap operas. Every resident that I know has problems in their apartments that are never resolved. Very difficult to get a hold of any one other than the manager and after trying to get results from her for 1 1/2 years. I have given up. Major problems Heating (boiler runs constantly even in summer) sprays scalding water when adjusted. A/C 1 window air unit for entire apartment does not work well. Water temperature is scalding or freezing. Improperly installed dishwasher Refrigerator leaks water (a lot) Laundry machines are dirty and do not work well. It is difficult to refill prepaid laundry card at times. Elevator is out a lot Have had many other problems that I have had to nag to get fixed. Maintenance told me that if I didn't have any thing nice to say, not to say anything at all. Manager is more concerned with residents personal matters than issues that we have. Many things that I was promised when I signed my lease are not available. They spend a lot of resources to get new residents but do not take care of them once they sign a lease. Promotions received at signing are taken back within a few months through fees. Private correspondence is left clipped to apartment doors facing out. When I complained about that Glenda (manager) told me that she can't remember everyone's phone number. I pay my very high rent each month on time in return for poor service. read more

I just recently moved out. Be aware, they will charge you for everything. They informed me that it was my responsibility to leave the apartment in a move-in condition. To me this is pure laziness from the management company to rely on the old residents to do a professional level of cleaning for the next residents. Management also tried charging me for closet doors in the bedroom that I never had. I had to informed them multiply times that I never had them and will not be paying for them to replace them. They charge over $100 in CAM fees when they have issues maintaining the place. The buildings washer and dryers would be consistently breaking. There was a time that only one washer worked for over 3 weeks. Not to mention when it snowed, it took days to shovel some of the main sidewalks. read more

This was the worst decision of my life. Not only did I have to throw away more than half of my personal belongings due to a cockroach infestation, my boyfriends car was stolen from the parking lot here twice, and the overall disrespect from the staff; they are now, a year later, trying to come after me for more money without a leniency. They claim to have worked "diligently" to get ahold of me, even though I only got one email from them. They kept my entire deposit and claimed that I paid less than half of what I did when I moved in. This place is a giant scam, amongst the horrible living conditions that they half-ass maintain. Don't move here: you won't get any respect, even after they threaten eviction on you, due to THEIR OWN mistake. (That happened twice in a year-long lease as well.). I have lived in these apartments for over a year now and love it. I is very quite and I have never had any problems at all.

For the past 3 years, I have called the 52nd Marketplace Apartments my home. If I did not have to relocate for work, I would still be there. I am going to summarize this review based on a couple of key categories. 1.) The Property: The management and maintenance teams have been working diligently to make upgrades to the exterior of the property and the interior of the units. In just the past couple of months, there have been significant improvements including, but not limited to installing new flooring in the laundry rooms, renovating the gym, installing an awesome fire pit by the poolside, installing new community BBQ girls, and installing walkways throughout the courtyard to remove the ugly and useless stone path. The parking lot was also recently re-paved and re-coated. The exterior of the buildings as also re-painted to give it a fresher, modern look and not look like a motel from the 80s. 2.) The Management: The property manager was recently replaced with a different person. When comparing the previous manager to the current, it is night and day. The current property manager has an amazing knack for customer service and has a surefire "get it done, by any means necessary" attitude. She came in guns blazing (so to speak) and was getting things done. She goes the extra mile to learn and remember your name and has conversations with you. None of the pre-fabricated generalized conversation pieces. 3.) The Maintenance: I have been fortunate enough to only need to make a maintenance request one time in my three years of living here (that should give you an idea of the condition of the units and the upkeep services). My toilet was overflowing when I came home from work (11 PM, mind you) and Phil was there within minutes of calling and he fixed the issue within seconds. He also provided a wet-vac and offered to clean the mess up himself. The maintenance guys are always around the property and all of them are genuinely nice. Ray, the lead maintenance gentleman, is one of the nicest maintenance guys I have ever met. When it snows, Ray is the one out there in the morning shoveling, laying salt, and plowing the walkways. This apartment really is a solid place to live. The prices of the units align with other properties in the area and with all the upgrades that have been done and are continuing to have, you get your bang for your buck. Everything you would ever need is within walking distance if you needed it and I have never witnessed any police activity, drunken fights, or loud noise afterhours like other reviews have indicated. The management office does have a package pick-up service (which they do check your ID's and ask you to present them the package so they can verify the names). Overall, 52nd Marketplace is a great option if you are looking for an apartment in the Arvada area. With the addition of the light rail station coming to Old Town, I would jump on the opportunity while you can. read more

OMG this place has screwed so many people. I sugggest looking at how many times it has been taken to court, and for what. And how many times have they changed management and what the issues are that continue. Money is the bottom line no matter what. Service continues to be rotten. The price hikes have caught up with place because they are presently scrambling for residents. What comes around goes around. Utilities are increased without explanation. I have a dog Berkley and I will take Berkeley to the office and they will give her a treat! I recommend living here!! Always refreshing when you have new Management take over a place where you live. I really appreciate all that I have been seeing lately. The new manager Glenda is a genuine person and really cares about the property. I love living here and being within walking distance to many amenities. Being close to transit is also a huge plus. I have enjoyed my summer here so far at the pool, other residents seem to be very happy as well. My lease is up in a few more months and I plan on extending my stay here another year. Oh I must say that the other staff are good and under Glenda I think she'll lead them to great lengths. Hopefully I will get new neighbors very soon. Big plus if they are dog friendly. And speaking of my dog Shout-out to the staff for the dog treats (nice touch). I always see kids get suckers and my dog is my kid so I was very pleased they put thought into knowing she is part of the community as well. DO NOT MOVE HERE! This place has terrible service. We had ants in the apartment, wasps on the balcony, and bugs coming from everywhere. The property managers are not willing to help with anything. I had to call several time just for the wasp problem. They did nothing for the rest of the bugs. But, ok that's fine I took upon myself to stop the bugs. And I must say for anyone with ants to sprinkle baby powder along the baseboards and they will not cross it works great. We lived there for about a year and had nothing but problems. We were in the newer building so it was kind of nice at first. You can hear the neighbors above quite easily especially if they are kids. Sounds like they were going to fall through the floor. Our water heater went out on a Friday night and it wasn't fixed until the following Thursday. So didn't have hot water until then cold showers suck! The one maintenance man for the whole complex only did a filter change once when we moved in and changed the smoke batteries once. The management company will schedule investors to come into your place and take picture whether you like it or not. The rent is over priced for the service you get. Good luck getting your deposit back. I work for another company doing maintenance on 7 apartment buildings. I know what it means to turn apartments or make-ready. So I did that pretty much to my apartment when my lease was up. Cleaned the crap out of it, I shampooed the carpet myself with a commercial carpet machine, I patched up all the holes and just made the place look new again. I called the office several times again asking about the deposit. Come to find out I got charged for all the work I did. Charged for cleaning, shampoo, painting and drip pans? Seriously? This is what the lady says "Show me the receipts that you did all that work!" Oh really why don't you show me that you have all that work on contractor? Can you imagine going to do work and you have to pay them for the work you did! That's freaking ridiculous! This was the worst service for an apartment ever. Worst property managers I've ever encountered. A/C unit was out for 15 days after I was emailed it was being replaced. Then supposedly gave me a concession but never COMMUNICATED with me confirming until after late fees washed out the amount of concession. Now experiencing retaliation from them. This is only the second apartment I have ever lived in as I owned a house for 15 years prior to joining the ranks of apartment dwellers. I was so impressed by this complex and Laurie (the manager) that I didn't even need time to think about whether or not I wanted to make it my home. Although I am disabled, I am on the top floor. This was an amazing option for me because they have elevators in most of the buildings. It is a true joy to live here and I wouldn't trade it for the world. Laurie is always pleasant and makes sure I have anything I need. There was a time when a neighbor watched television all night on a t.v. with surround sound and it would keep me up. It was horrible because work days start early for me. The same day I told Laurie about it, she contacted the gentleman to remind him that surround sound systems are not allowed in the complex- per the lease agreement. In the year since that time, sleeping has not been a problem as the gentleman respects the rules. Laurie truly cares about her residents and it is greatly appreciated. I would recommend this apartment complex to anyone looking for a community to call home. read more

Wow, where to begin. I had the unfortunate experience of having a 13 month lease in the worst place I've ever lived. One of the first things you'll notice when you meet with the management is Laurie, the office "manager" is completely crazy and acts like a high school teenager. This was very apparent when you step into the office and she bad talks other residents behind their back right in front of other residents and future residents. That should have been a red flag enough. She is the absolute worse property manager I have ever encountered in terms of doing her job. When I put my deposit and paid my fees a couple months in advance when I showed up and said I'm here to move in and get my keys she said "no you aren't." I sort of looked at her not sure if she was serious but she was dead serious. She had completely mismanaged our move in date. I then produced paperwork to show my move in date that SHE signed. She then had to have the maintenance guy scramble to get the apartment ready so we had somewhere to live. Keep this in mind if you moved from out of state. She can't do a basic thing like mark a move in date on a calendar so you may not have a residence when you get there. When we moved in our "upgraded, mountain view" we immediately noticed long hairs painted into the bathroom walls. The rest of the walls were just hastily painted over and they didn't both covering the light switches or anything else so there's paint everywhere. While living here there is next to no maintenance. The 1 maintenance guy who is responsible for the entire property is a nice guy but he is clearly stretched too thin. If you have something broken expect it to take a long time. Parking is atrocious. This apartment has no problem allowing unlimited people and vehicles with no policing over it whatsoever. In fact, they encourage it considering they do the student housing. Meaning, they allow 4 grownups to share a 2 bedroom apartment. So that means 4 cars per apartment. This doesn't just apply to students either. At the time I moved out the "family" that moved in below us had at minimum 3 adults, 2 teenagers, and various kids living in a single 2 bedroom. They had converted the living room into a bedroom. This is perfectly fine at 52nd Marketplace. There are no covered or reserved spots so when the 9 residents living in your bedroom come home from the bars at 2am don't expect there to be any spots until they wake up at 1pm the next day. On the grounds the garbages get changed maybe once a month. Once they are full people throw the garbage on the ground around it. It is absolutely disgusting. The dog bags are always empty so of course nobody cleans up once they are out. The pool is fun if you don't mind 1 adult supervising their 9 kids that are running around screaming. The gym is a joke. If 3 treadmills and 1 machine is a gym then okay it's a gym. All in all I would HIGHLY recommend avoiding this place at all costs. When we moved out we received a $250 apartment cleaning fee in addition to Laurie taking our deposit. Afterwhich it was paid she filed a dispute on my renters credit report to say I didn't pay. She clearly did this in spite as I have receipts and it clearly shows everything on time on their own website. For this I am filing a complaint with the BBB and filing a dispute on the credit report. Cops were here every weekend. I would not feel safe on the ground level in this place. Parties all the time. As a matter of fact one day I came home from work and there were college kids who climbed to the roof of our building and were drinking beer, lighting fireworks and even peeping through the 3rd floor skylight of a single ladies apartment. I knew this as I talked to her when she called the police. She had gotten out of the shower and happened to look up and they were there. Take it from me. A college graduate, with a nice car, a good job, and a head on his shoulders. Stay away from this place unless you have absolutely no where else to go, need to house 5+ people per bedroom, and enjoy not being able to park at home because the college kids have parties every weekend. Laurie has absolutely no idea how to run a business and she loves to talk bad about her residents behind their back while being best friends to their face. I've heard her threaten to evict people on numerous occasions. She has a power complex that is really exasperated by her 28k a year job and position of power of the poor people in her complex. read more

I wish I could give zero or negative stars. The absolute worst!!!!!! We went to look at this place in October and put down our deposit while we were waiting to look at the apartment because it was not yet available. The day we viewed the actual apartment we hated it (so small and ghetto for the price they are asking) so we came back an hour or two later and said we were not interested and wanted our $250 deposit back then they tried to pull the "it is non- refundable" card on us. My boyfriend and I both have dads who sit on the board of realty and the law is you have 72 hours from the time you VIEW the apartment to get your money back. The manager is a really really mean person with an awful temper (oh and her and the receptionist talked crap about me while I was on the phone because the manager apparently does not know how to put the phone on hold, so I could hear absolutely everything they said). Needless to say, we got the $250 back after a long fight for 4 months, but these people are seriously crooks and you can get a much better apartment for the same price down the street. read more

If you like living somewhere that isn't maintained with rude and incompetent staff move in here and pay more than you would anywhere else for less room and less amenities. I haven't even been here that long and I hate it. Everyone I talk to that lives here has no intentioned renewing their lease. It's a ridiculous apartment to live in. read more

This was the first apartment me and my now husband ever lived in, and lets just say I think we would have been better off living in somone's basement. First off when we moved in we had to pay over $1,200. The office manager had told us that half of that was a deposit, our first mistake was not getting that in writting. We'll get back to this later. When it came time for us to move in our apartment was nowhere near ready. It was suppose to be ready at noon, we had to wait until 6:00 that night to move in, we were trying to beat the snow so had a Uhaul and everything there already, needless to say we were hauling stuff in and out while it snowed. We did our walk through the next day and noticed that the weather stripping on the door was coming off, along with some other small issues that we could look past. We asked for the weather stripping to be fixed. When June came around, we had asked about 3 times for this to get fixed, their solutuon? Pull it off and don't replace it... From the minute we moved in we had an ant problem from the guy next door to us who honestly shouldn't have been lving on his own. We had a cat and the ants were constantly in her food. Pest control came out 5 times! The pest control place they use is a joke. The 3rd time they came out we had no idea about it so couldn't plan to get out cat out to make sure she was safe. All the sudden while at work I'm getting a call from the office manager stating that pest control just left. I had asked about my cat and she stated "I don't know what they did with her" Fine, I get that, that's not her fault. I had a terrible feeling about what was going on so I called my husband and he left work to go make sure she was ok. They had locked her in the bedroom, with no cat box, no food, no water and we weren't suppose to be home for another 5 hours! What's worse is we don't know if they sprayed in there and locked her in there with no open window or if they didn't spray the room and put her in there. I know this isn't the office managers fault, but the reason I'm writing about it is they obviously just hire who ever is the cheapest and not the best. Any good pest control company wouldn't have done what they did. There was one Saturday when we were gone all day, came back about 10 that night to a flooded bathroom. On the side of the office there is a number for after hours emergency so we called it and low and behold, who's every phone it was was turned off and there was no voicemail set up! So we had to clean everything up ourselves, snake our own drain and throw away the rugs that got ruined. We told the office manager that Monday and no one seemed to care. We were on the first floor and about half way into our lease when a girl moved in above us and was extremely loud. We let it go on for about a week before we complained to the office manager, her response? "She just moved in and is living on her own. Give her a month before we say anything to her" I'm sorry, it's in the lease "quite time" is from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am, and yet we are purposely allowing her to break the lease and get away with it?! We let it go on for a month and complained again, she stated "Well I guess I'll talk to her" I think you can guess what happened here, nothing got resolved so we had to live with what almost seemed like a heard of elephants above us for the remander of our lease. When we were almost done with our lease my husband and I decided we wanted to buy a house and not rent anymore. We had asked the office manager what it would cost to live month to month if we had to for a little bit, she quoted us an additional $150 a month; which wasn't a big deal to us as that was still going to be less than our mortgage. Until we went through our lease to confirm that and right on the lease it stated it would only be an additional $100 a month... Thankfully we didn't have to do month to month to deal with that headache. When we were ready to move out we gave the office manager our notice and asked about getting our deposit back as there was no damage to our apartment. The $600 deposit we were told we were making was all the sudden only a $300 deposit! The rest was just "fees" to move in. They also get you by stating they charge their utilities 2 months behind and we could either get our $300 back and pay $200 in utilities or she could just take it from the deposit and we would only get $100 back. We opted to have her just take it from our deposit so we could just be done with that place! There were a lot of other issues that we had to deal with but I think this is enough for anyone reading to think twice about moving here. There's better options out there, don't make the same mistake we did. read more

Welcome to part 3 review of my current review if 52nd market place i was asked why the second bad i told them my ceiling they finally fixed was still not painted from 5 months ago put a work in 2 times for aircondioner both times still didn't work the short in my outlet they did fix after it blew up 3 of my fans. Office told me if it was fixed by Tuesday oct 8th would i take down bad review well it's still not done i watched a tenant carry his bike up 4 floors because as of today elevator is broke and heard another tenant asked why do you slam your door 27 times or more he answered the bolts are loose everything is falling apart around all this occured when manager and asst manager were sitting in commons area smoking like i have seen them and the maintenance man smoking and laughing numerous times in a single day when they should be tending to tenants concerns also i had to get a money order for 6cents because my account wasn't at zero i asked how much to buy out my lease if i could afford it i positively would i want out of this nightmare now i wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy maybe coporate will contact me and listen to a word i say i doubt it!!! read more

The worst property manager ever!!! First off she never wanted to accept the money that was due because she was demanding next months rent even though we still had weeks before the 1st. Since we weren't going to pay next months rent she filed an eviction even though she didn't want to accept the money. When the officer came to the apartment she told him money was never paid but minutes later she handed me the money order saying she wasn't going to accept it. She also said she never even met my brother but how can that be when his name is on the lease. She is a liar and can not be trusted!! read more

DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! I have had the worst experience living here and thankfully only signed up for a 10 month lease. I'm half way through and already counting the days to move and searching for another apartment. The cost to live here is ridiculous for what you get, unless you are looking for a temporary place to stay. The manager is the most unprofessional person I've met and has only one person doing maintenance on the whole complex. Do yourself a favor and don't even look into them. I didn't get to see where I would be living until our move in date because someone was living there a couple of days before so they had to clean the floors and sloppily paint over the old paint. Before we moved in we noticed so much rust on the stairs, but nothing some paint can't cover up! These apartments are old and need more attention than just paint. For the two years I lived there, there was construction going on at all hours of the day with little to or no notice. Sometimes I couldn't even get into my apartment because they decided to lay new concrete or paint. The rent is severely over priced for the size and location of the apartments. The neighbors are loud and disrespectful of the grounds. Police were often there all hours of the nights due to domestic disputes. The laundry rooms and elevators were usually broken and filthy. Often they would schedule apartment inspections with less than 12 hours notice as well. The management has changed since my initial move in but it has solved none of the problems they have. They keep terrible book keeping and are never in the office and don't return calls. I had been waiting 6 weeks for my deposit return only to find they mailed it to the incorrect address. I waited another 3 weeks for them to correct it only to find that they still have done nothing about it. I would not recommend living here to any one. read more
