You stay here for the buzz, service, pool, and I recommend you book a room with lounge access. Staff are gracious and always available to help. The pool and staff are great. The spa is so nice and the services are wonderful. The rooms are just odd and cold. Sterile, old, and from a boxy chain hotel. The photos tell the story. Very strange control system for lights and the only limited heating/cooling controls. You can't really control the temperature- it has a few up and down buttons and you can't pick a temperature, I really didn't like it at all. The hotel is a celebration destination and the energy and constant parties is fun.

We were invited for a dinner at Manila Peninsula while in the Philippines. It's located in the heart of Makati. It is known for-as " Jewel in the Capitol Crown ". It is very luxurious and sophisticated. It was rated five star rating luxury hotel. The place was beautiful . Seated in their restaurant with amazing architecture. We were served with authentic Filipino foods like Kare kare, lechon kawali , spaghetti , veggie salad and a taste of chocolate gnache for dessert. It was an amazing night . The servers were very friendly. For sure we will back once we visit Manila again.

The Peninsula Manila is located in the Makati area, which is 15-20 mins from the airport and about 1.5 hours away from the center of Manila. I'd consider it an elegant and timeless hotel that is meant to offer a luxurious experience. From the moment you step into the grand lobby, you're greeted with a sense of sophistication and a somewhat hospitable reception from the staff. The lobby was interesting because it's used for afternoon tea or cocktails, along with live music. So it was slightly overwhelming but still breath taking. We checked in on Dec 22 around 8pm after leaving Tokyo. Just a heads up that MNL is one of these worst airports on earth so if you're reading this review, meaning you had to fly into it, you know what I mean, but I digress. Upon checking in, we were so hungry that we immediately headed to Escolta, their on site restaurant. It was buffet style but the food did nothing for me. Wasn't a fan and it was quite pricy. The breakfast was much better! We headed to our room and it was incredibly spacious, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully designed. The beds were comfortable, and the views of the city added to the vibes. The room did lack a bit of modernization in some areas, particularly the bathrooms. Nonetheless, it was good enough to lay our heads down. I also enjoyed the pool and spa area as it was a great way to start the day and/or relax. As for the service, it lacked when compared to the other hotels we stayed at. I didn't find any of them personable except the staff at Escolta and the spa. I will say the best part of the hotel is the location because of the shopping centers, restaurants, and cultural landmarks that are close by.

You'll notice that numerous reviews is in regards to the restaurants at this marvelous hotel, and that's because they are locally known for their halo halo and afternoon tea within The Lobby at the hotel. The Escolta is known for their numerous stations at their buffet. When we arrived the hotel, we saw a jeepney to the left for a photo opportunity. The porters were available to help us with our luggage, but we chose to roll ours in ourselves. They were helpful in placing the luggage on the baggage scanner. There were numerous employees greeting us at the entrance. We walked passed The Lobby restaurant. The concierge was on the left. We proceeded to the right side to check in with the front desk. The front desk employee was very polite and friendly. Then again, everyone at this hotel was very courteous and helpful. We were given the option of a king sized bed or two beds. We chose the two beds, but we were surprised that the two beds were twin sized beds. The front desk did say twin beds, but I guess I was just accustomed to the two beds being full or double sized beds. I was pleasantly surprised as to how convenient all the controls were within a panel on a nightstand. I thought I took a picture of the view from our room, but I am sorry that I didn't. I was happy to see that there were 4 bottles of water, since my thermos was empty. The bathroom was spacious with two bath robes available. It had a shower stall with amenities. The bathtub had a brochure which promoted their spa. The bathroom had a phone and a bidet. The bathroom sink had 2 dental kits, travel size lotion, a disposable shower cap, cotton pads, and cotton buds. The best part about staying here was that the room included a breakfast buffet at the Escolta.

Had a lovely lunch here courtesy of my cousin on my last day in the city. I had no business having a buffet option for lunch when I had dinner plans that involved a tasting menu later that evening. My cousin, who is a frequent visitor of this place, decided to take me out for lunch and surprise me with our other cousin and his wife. The property is quite spacious and super fancy. Everything was smooth sailing because we had a reservation. I decided to focus mainly on the Filipino dishes as I don't get to have those options often in LA. They had so many choices that I got overwhelmed on the first round, but as soon as I found my footing, I got all the things all at once. Everything I got was super tasty. The wagyu was a great treat. The only thing I really didn't care for was the dessert options. I guess I wanted the ice cream to taste like the ones you get on the street lol

World class ambience and service. Beautiful and cozy suites. The fitness center and pool were great!

This was our first time staying here based on recommendation from friends. Hotel is impressive and staff are great. Concierge is great with recommendations for restaurants. simple breakfast and getting laundry done. We did have the hotel ala carte breakfast. It was a lot for one person. Highly recommend.

Classic, old world luxury hotel in Manila. We stayed here during our trip to the Philippines. It's a comfortable stay, a relatively quick ride to/from the airport and the hotel restaurants are quite nice. Like most establishments in the Philippines, the hospitality is top notch! Would stay here again for sure!

Great times in the lounge.

I was at first very impressed when I walked in the front doors. The foyer is elegant and made of marble, leading into a timelessly majestic three tiered lobby. A pool, garden and gym act as a self enclosed resort atmosphere complete with two large windowed restaurants offering views of the pool. The bar and function room are replete with the grandeur of Victorian themed mahogany and leather accoutrements. The bell hops are dressed in classic white costume and hat, and the bar tenders sport the classic vest. Rooms are large, luxurious, offering a bath and marble fixtures while the exceptional bed faces a TV that sputters to life daily at 7 AM with an eerie hotel soundtrack looped at 30 seconds, giving a disheartening and jolted wake up call (whether or not it was requested). Some of the features feel dated and signs of use are rampant. The hotel was constructed in 1975, or so says their in house produced documentary that plays on repeat one channel away from the wake up channel. The arcade looks like an early attempt at incorporating shopping into the hotel experience, and comes off as a crowded basement with interesting options. The food is almost too predictable and bland; the burger however is on point. The options are uninspired and very little resonates. The servicié is outstanding, and maybe too much so. At times, personal attention teetered on pestering. This is probably a personal bias though. Expats abound and the classic bar lounge is worth the trip. Most hotels in Makati and luxury hotels in Manila in general lack the character and charm of this place. I love Marriott Bonvoy points, but I'll forgo the perks to enjoy a lobby serenade by a perched grand piano and lounge singer reminiscent of an earlier era of travel that may have only ever existed in the fantasy of our minds.

The hotel is stunning, everything from selection of restaurants, bars, pool area & fitness center made for a wonderful stay.

My home away from home! My second family and I stay for weeks at a time and let me tell you, it's absolutely the best hotel! From the service to the rooms. All the feels of vacation and luxury. They know you by name and make sure you're well taken care of.

Escolta, locally famous buffet restaurant in The Peninsula Manila, is located at the heart of the commercial business district of Ayala, Makati City, Philippines. Famous for its western, continental and Asian buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner, hotel guests and outside patrons flock to this restaurant to savor the well prepared spread of sumptuous meals. Food, salads, dessert and beverage are always being replenished, fresh and/or freshly cooked and warmed. Whenever we're back in town we see to it we dine in Escolta to rekindle our asian taste. The place is cozy with attentive staff who gives warm and fast service. Reservations is not allowed so it's best to come in early. Parking is a challenge in the area but you can get a valet in the hotel entrance. After your gastronimical trip you can practically walk to the high-end malls.across the street to chill!

The Peninsula Manila holds a special place in our hearts. My sisters and I all celebrated our 18th birthdays at the Rigodon Ballroom. My parents celebrated both their 25th and 50th anniversary in the ballroom as well. I have stayed in the hotel in the past, so on a recent visit to Manila, my husband and I booked a room for a couple of nights. The hotel may appear dated, but the warmth and charm we've always enjoyed through the years remained intact. The staff were warm and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The lounge and some of the restaurants have not reopened, but we did enjoy two nights of in-room dining. Food came on time and hot. We would definitely stay again... and again.

Events Center at Century City Mall is a 400 sqm plus events space with an adjacent 100 sqm plus al fresco area. It can comfortably seat 200 to 250 people and 300 to 350 people standing up. Air temperature is not a problem because they have more than enough air conditioning units. Every Sunday, the mall hosts Catholic masses in this space. This space is located at the 5th floor of the mall, right beside 12 Monkeys. I love the service pantry and kitchen that this space provides. It's all fitted with stainless steel counters and cabinets that rival professional kitchens. Century Mall is strict when it comes to heating equipment though: only electric appliances are allowed. There's also a male and female toilet available inside the space. Take away: the Events Center of Century City Mall should be a candidate for all your events space needs because of their awesome layout, high ceilings, and nice views.

Against a minimalistic backdrop displaying no more than a giant frame and white blocks to imply a living room, the actors had read their lines from the script with such emotion and vivacity that I now see the Events Center as a place where people are free to express themselves as they choose, to applaud and laugh should the occasion arise. It was really enchanting to see this particular interpretation and production of "The Glass Menagerie" come alive at the Events Center, and with such a bare yet evocative set, a space that could easily function as a performing arts venue as well as a spot for a press release. Also, they gave away free Krispy Kreme donuts that night, which pretty much clinches it for me.

Since we had no plans, we decided to just check out Circuit Makati, the new Ayala development on the site of the old Santa Ana Race Track, which was on our route home. I have passed by the Santa Ana racetrack area since it was still a racetrack and have been seeing the progress of the construction on it, but have never really checked it out yet. I know it's been open for a few months already, but I felt like there was nothing there yet. Anyway, this was my chance to finally see it. CIRCUIT MAKATI Parking was free, thankfully. I'm sure once it's fully opened, parking won't be free anymore, so if you're curious to see it, now 's the chance! About half of the establishments are already open, mostly restaurants. Some shops are still closed. It has an open design, which seems to be the "IN" thing in malls now. It reminded me of the Ayala Serin Mall in Tagaytay. A lot of the space is open air - this is great if you are a nature lover; I think you'd be able to bring your pets, like in Serendra. It also saves the mall on air-conditioning costs. On the other hand, it can get hot, humid, and muggy, and on that night, it was drizzling, too. However, I appreciate the abundance of plants and little pocket gardens and oasis-like ponds. Pretty. Circuit Makati is 3-floors high, with 2 long buildings with balcony walkways facing each other. The 2 buildings are connected by several bridges. The little balconies with the orange umbrellas by the water remind me of the ones in The Venetian in Macau. I'm sure it will become a prime spot once Circuit Makati is fully opened. There's a Grab Taxi stand out front, and I saw signs for a free shuttle service to Makati. Somewhere, I can't figure if it's on the side or behind the mall, there's a kart racing place, and beside it, there's another area like a big, big tennis court where many kids were doing sports things. Haha, I can't tell what sport it was and I was too lazy to walk there to check. I am actually looking forward to going back there to hang out at CBTL or Starbucks. Why not? Parking is free, and even on a Saturday, there weren't too many people there. Sometimes you just want to hang out at a place where it's not too crowded, almost secluded, 'ya know? Appreciate it while it's still not filled with people. To me, the picture below looks very inviting, because I'm really just an introvert, truly. However, security still seemed to be a bit lax, maybe because Circuit Makati is still new? I saw a group of more than 10 pre-teen to teenage kids hanging out near one of the pocket gardens, with no visible adult companion around to keep them well-behaved. I don't think a group like this would get past security at other malls. Anyway, it seems safe enough, but best to still be alert and keep to the main areas and avoid the darker areas where a lot of shops are still closed.

Just a couple of years ago, when the metro was affected by Ondoy, White Space opened up its doors to anyone who would want to help pack food and clothing to give away to the flood victims. Just last month, I attended two events in the same week. One was for the Jack Daniel's On Stage Final event wherein they had a number of bands performing to culminate their two year music campaign. The other was for my grandfather's 90th 1950's themed birthday. Last December, Status Magazine had their annual Yardsale, a bazaar showcasing different independent stores and artisans of Manila. And they also had a little stage for a few bands to perform. A few years ago, Sonic Boom Philippines brought in Four Year Strong for a concert. And a year before that, they celebrated one of their anniversaries, setting up two big stages for various local independent bands to play in. White Space is humongous and perfect for any kind of event. It's easy to decorate and if you find it too small, you can rent out only half of it. I think the main problem though is parking. But don't you worry, at night, parking in the street is allowed. And if you run out of space for that, right across is Eco Plaza who has plenty of space for parking.

Another reason is because of its spacious and spotless bathrooms. From an event organizer's standpoint, Whitespace acts like a blank canvas for any sort of event one would want to organize in here. How's that for being adaptable?
