They were evern fine with me playing my guitar in the former chapel space! We spent years coming to the Long Beach penninsula and have stayed at many places. No, this is not a bed and breakfast, but very resonable and perfect for anyone who wants to bring their own food and cook it up in a very nice facility. This is now our first choice. Highly recommended for a couple or a large group.

It is very accessible from Portland and the drive there is beautiful, and when you arrive at your destination you immediately feel at peace. Brian and Linda do a great job of making you feel welcome. We brought our own snacks and had a picnic in the gazebo and enjoyed the view of the river, which is so wide at that point that it almost gives the visual of being at the ocean as ships rolled by. We stayed in the Hummingbird Room which has a very comfortable bed and a wonderful view out of the window. The rates are very affordable and include breakfast - Brian is a great cook and they offer several meal options. We added the firewood package and were so glad we did, as I type this I wish I could be back there next to the fire while looking at the river. They only have two rooms so if you went with some friends you would have the whole place to yourselves. This really is a hidden gem and I highly recommend making the trip while you can.

We stayed in the "Beach House" studio room and to be honest, it could use a remodel. The wood floors were a bit sticky and the gas fireplace was not plugged in when we check in. Walls/ceilings are thin, we could hear our neighbors stomping around all night. The jetted tub in the room, while nice in theory, looked very dingy yellow and the caulk needed to be replaced. It is nice that it's pet friendly, but there wasn't much pet amenities other than treats at the Adrift front lobby. A bandana, dog bowl to borrow, or extra sheet for our dog would have been nice. They do have free EV chargers, you have to ask for a card at the lobby. Be careful tho! Other guests unplugged and used our charger while we went to get a card.

Since…read morewe live in Portland, about 2 hours away from Astoria, it is a quick getaway for us and we plan on making the trip as often as we can. Pam and David are the sweetest and most hospitable hosts, and their B&B truly feels like a cozy home. They collect really fun items, and each room has its own character and its own unique homey decor. The location of the inn is close enough to walk anywhere you would want to go out for dinner, drinks, or shopping. The best part of the inn (besides Pam's breakfasts - which always include the BEST fruit bowls) is most definitely their 13 year old chihuahua, Penny. She often makes an appearance after breakfast and steals the heart of everyone she meets. If you aren't able to use a tub with a shower handle (like the kind popular in Europe) to bathe, then I would suggest getting one of their rooms with a shower/tub combination. I loved having a clawfoot tub to soak in (we stayed in the Rose Room this time) each night while I read and drank a cup of tea. There is usually hot water and teabags or instant coffee available at all hours (freshly brewed coffee is available starting at 7am) on the stairway landing and I took full advantage of that amenity!

It is very special!…read more Wherever we looked in Windwater Suite, we could see evidence that Rafael and Patty, the hosts, had thought deeply about the needs and wants of their guests--to the very last detail! As guests, we felt very special, because we sensed that the hosts wanted to make our stay there a most pleasant and memorable experience. When our two-night stay was over, we wished that we could have spent our whole week's vacation at this most beautiful, peaceful, and welcoming place. We have already made a reservation to stay at Windwater again next year to enjoy Rafael and Patty's friendly hospitality, special breakfasts, and to kick back and enjoy the view and the many local interest books and brochures, and all the amenities in the kitchen, like the Chefman electric kettle for heating water for our hot chocolate at night.
