I could see that Shannon genuinely cared as much about our puppy, Holly, as much we did and was wonderful with her. She is kind, gentle, diligent, and knowledgeable. I continue to be beyond happy with the service we receive (as does Holly!) and am excited for Holly to graduate to group walks. Shannon's knowledge and experiences really are an asset (our vet thinks so as well - I literally brag to everyone haha). She was able to alert us to Holly's UTI and eye infection so that we knew to seek treatment and was even able to provide us with some helpful tips. The cherry on top has been that not only does Shannon come and make sure our puppy is happy during the day - but she also has been diligent in helping us with obedience and potty training. I love that Shannon gives us advice but is never pushy with how we choose to proceed. She is always flexible to us and our pup's needs.

Memphis, a mini aussie, was (and is kind of still) a major handful. He was super hyper and nippy. Getting his harness/leash on and getting him in/out of the crate an ordeal that required a ton of patience, and usually resulted in some battle scars. For this reason, we were nervous about unleashing him on anyone. That worry vanished the first time I saw (through my dog cam, like a creep) how Mackenzie handled him. She was so gentle, sweet and encouraging - I could have cried. He took to her right away and to this day I would say that my boyfriend and I just barely out rank her in Memphis' eyes. Also don't know if we would have made it through puppyhood without her. Memphis has always had a rather sensitive stomach. One day, while I was at my uncle's funeral, I was notified by my camera that Memphis was stirring and I knew something was wrong. I couldn't get home, so I called Mackenzie and she was there in no time. She cleaned him up, soothed him and left... Only to return an hour later when I called again... and then again (he was having bad tummy troubles, and wound up having to go to the vet. I'm not exaggerating when I say I don't know what I would have done without her that day. Knowing you can't get home to your sick puppy is about as soul crushing as it gets, and Mackenzie's constant check-ups saved me from losing my mind. While that was an emergency, they are actually ALWAYS that accommodating. Even today I got caught up in some work and called, at 11:30, to see if I could get Memphis on the roster late. Mackenzie was there within the hour.

When our family went on vacations, Ginger boarded with Aviva, and we could go away with peace of mind knowing that Ginger was in the best of hands. Ginger was a calm, friendly, and happy dog and we know that this was in large part due to the fact that she spent many of her days as a puppy at Barking Along. Stella is exhausted every evening. Sometimes she only wags her tail when I get home because she's too tired to give me a full greeting. Stella was a sweet, awkward, goofy, and nervous dog that gets car sick. And now Stella is a sweet, awkward, goofy dog that likes going for car rides, and thinks that all dogs have the possibility of being her friend. He's very anxious about getting nail trims due to bad experiences and Caley was amazing. Although Skully was squirming a lot during the nail trim, all of his nails got trimmed and we even got pointers in the type of brushes to get to deal with his heavy shedding coat! Thanks Caley!

I found Metro Dog Stop after the daycare my boyfriend and I had been using for his dog closed down…read more They made us feel super comfortable that our dog was going to be well taken care of and safe by doing a really thorough pre-screen. The attention to detail, safety, and socialization was really impressive. It was also great that we could use them as-needed. When we were calling around to other places, alot of them had contracts and packages you had to buy to use them. Plus the rates at Metro Dog Stop were really reasonable. My boyfriend only has his dog every few weeks or so, so this was perfect! They also have a really great pick-up & delivery service! We found that out once our work schedules changed and taking the dog to daycare in the morning became impossible. But they have walkers that will come get your dog and bring them to and from the daycare, which was a lifesaver! And over the summer our dog picked up kennel cough at a park, and we were worried about him not being able to go to daycare while we were at work. But they arranged for a walker to come over and do private walks with him during the day, so he still got out and had some company! The customer service is really great and they really care about the dogs. The staff have all been fantastic, our dog comes home happy & tired from playing all day when he's there, and best of all he's always super excited to go there...which is the best evidence of all that it's a great place.
