This restaurant tries really hard to be what it's visuals are but simply fails at execution. The front staff had difficulty finding us a table with a restaurant that was pretty open. The staff seem confused as we had two managers try to deliver us food that wasn't ours. The waiters were unfortunately pulled aside by the managers frequently for whatever reason and it caused a huge delay in service. I felt like we had to flag down our waitress with flags. Overall this place looks good but isn't what it sets out to achieve. Further they removed all the things I loved the last time I visited. Frankly, it just isn't worth the cost. read more

Such a hidden gem! The inside is beautiful, upscale feel without the high prices. We sat in the back, and our waitress was super friendly (even shared a few dad jokes!). The food came out perfect and exactly as we ordered. We wrapped up the night with some darts and pinball. Wish we had a spot like this back in Colorado. read more

The only reason it's not just one star is because the server was nice. Made reservations for brunch to celebrate a birthday. Called the day ahead to confirm the reservation. Showed up as scheduled and they didn't have a reservation for us. The buffet was for the most part tasteless and hot dishes were only luke warm. The atmosphere and setting has great potential for a nice dinner and good time afterwards. Unfortunately this is where the positivity ends. The starters were $17 for caulky cheese curds ( I'm from WI so maybe the standards are a bit high) and other under-seasoned deep-fried basics. The ranch served with the starters lacked the viscosity to stay on the food. My wife (it is our honeymoon) got the Cesar salad which was I kid you not a head of romaine lettuce cut in half and drizzled with dressing, topped with cheese and bacon ( which was not listed on the menu). She could barely cut up the lettuce to try to get a bite sized piece. After she did get her 3 bite sized pieces in the dressing was all gone. I ordered a cheap pepperoni pizza since I didn't want to be disappointed on a $40 entree after seeing the starters; which was very small and had a random jalapeño pepper placed in the middle, again not described in the menu. The pizza itself wasn't bad, just a basic pizza you could make at home.. I am not one to expect free anything, but if you are someone who does do not expect a free drink or discount for your meal if you make it known it's your honeymoon. After watching the bartender take multiple drinks from her Arby's cup and walking up and down the bar except for the side the customer were (our side) my attempts to get the check were fulfilled. I went in seeing the prices and pictures of the place expecting to tip $20-$30. But sadly I could not feel good doing so. The brunch buffet should be -avoided-. The steam tray eggs were terrible. The pancakes were dried out. The selection of french toast sticks, sausage, and hash brown wedges eventually led me to the suspicion that much of the buffet was from frozen or canned ingredients. Nothing seemed fresh. A bad brunch buffet. My neice only received part of her order and was told that the rest of it would take an hour to be ready. We just had a delightful evening at The Park. We had glasses of Chardonnay for $2.50 each and we had delicious food. I had the hummus platter and it was wonderful. My friend had the tomato bisque and she said it was the best ever. What made our stay at this restaurant very good waiter named Vaughn. He was attentive, friendly and efficient. He checked on us periodically and was very polite. I asked to see the manager to tell the manager what a great waiter Vaughn was, but she wasn't available. I would highly recommend this beautiful restaurant with plenty of comfortable seating and good food. read more

The banquet & catering group, led by Brianne, executed a wonderful evening for a high school class reunion party of over 100 people. Everything from the planning stages to the well organized set-up and service on the day of the event was perfectly implemented. The Park venue itself is stunning! The banquet room had beautiful colorful LED lighting to match our school colors which made it look very festive and inviting upon entering. The entire restaurant, casino and banquet areas have an impressive modern decor. A large, high tech video system was utilized for a presentation and looked wonderful. The banquet room was large and everyone was very comfortable. The Park staff was very attentive and accommodating to our needs. The presentation of the food was impressive and enjoyed by all of our guests. They offer a large variety of high quality appetizers for these type of evening social events. I highly recommend The Park for anyone hosting a large group event. You will not be disappointed. Thank you to Brianne for her seamless coordination of our event! How do I give zero stars. Third time giving it a try in the last year. Food, when you can get them to take your order, is over priced. The bartender was the only one working and she had a line at the bar. We sat at a table for 20 minutes waiting for someone, anyone, to acknowledge us. It was like we were the ugly girl at the prom. No dice. After getting our own drinks, we sat at our table for another 1 1/2 hours nursing our Whiteclaw waiting to order, waiting for another round, waiting for any human interaction at all. Waiting........ Finally in a hunger fueled delirium we were able to stumble out the door, to our vehicle, past the douchey corvette parked in the NO PARKING ZONE so we could try to find somewhere that actually wanted busines. To find employees who actually wanted tips. Whomever labeled this Rapid City's best has been consuming far too much of their medical marijuana. What ever happened to truth in advertising. read more

Stopped in for a quick lunch and sat at the bar yesterday. I ordered the calamari appetizer. My food was delivered on a rectangle plate with 7 rings laid out, end to end, with a wilted lettuce leaf at the end. With the rings laid out on a single layer, they were already luke warm when they arrived, without sauce and without utensils. I asked for the dipping sauce that accompanied the dish and was brought cocktail sauce (a mistake that happens every time) rather than the spicy garlic aioli sauce, as the menu states, nor marinara, which is otherwise customary). Apologies were made for the wrong sauce, and I asked for silverware again. The bar area had only 1 other customer, which is worse than being packed for a server. I couldn't see my server, so I left money on the bar and left. I've patronized The Park approximately a dozen times since they opened at different times on different days, hoping for an enjoyable experience without disappointment. I have yet to have that experience. It's sad that after all this time and so many changes to management and staff that The Park continues to disappoint read more

The locals have figured this place out. There were only 6 customers in at the morning rush. The ambiance was great, they spent a lot of money on the physical structure and decor. The service was among the worst I've had anywhere, and the food might have been fine just off the grill, but it was cold when it got to us. They need to spend on an executive chef, close down and hard re-start. But it'll be too late for most of us. I will never return. read more

Have driven by many times and happened to learn that they served breakfast so we decided to try. Glad we did! Atmosphere was like a Las Vegas style restaurant and we forgot we were in RC! First time at the restaurant. Arrived about 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon. Very nice decor in the restaurant. Was sat quickly and the waitress arrived soon after I was seated. I ordered the soup of the day, Cesar salad and Walleye fish and chips. Soup was amazing, spicy chicken. Cesar salad was fresh and ice cold with just the right amount of dressing and cheese. The venue location was the perfect place to host an event of this sort; however, the management is not the perfect experience for a couple trying to get married. To begin with, the first woman who assisted us (Jaclyn) was spectacular. Highly disappointed. Came in this morning for breakfast, no one was at the hostess station, once we were seated two of the tables were dirty from night prior. Finally seated and ordered drinks- we waited 25 minutes. No drinks, never ordered food and we walked out. There was also an older man at the bar, who I seen come in get seated and never even looked at. He eventually got up and walked out also. Rapid city isn't known for their great food, but the Park had a wide menu selection and all of the food was good. The Chislic was some of the best I've ever had!!! Super tender and not over cooked. I really enjoyed the jalapeño ranch. They are able to accommodate large parties, but be sure to get a reservation in advance! read more

Went to dinner to celebrate a birthday. Our waitress "#442 Emerald" started off by taking food orders from each member, we put all our orders in at the same time. She then took drink orders. 25 mins went by and our drinks were not out yet. Our waitress was nowhere to be found. A few more mins later she brought half our drinks out and failed to let us know where the rest of the drinks were. We patiently waited. She comes back to the table and asks to clarify one of the orders which she repeated and we informed her we had not ordered that dish. She brought the food out a long while later and had the incorrect side for one order so she took that back, we asked her a 2nd time for utensils and ketchup. When she brought out the correct side we asked her for an update on the remaining drink as well as for the food we were missing for one person. She had a negative attitude from the get go and we tried to give her the benefit of the doubt BUT she never apologized for anything and her behavior got worse. She goes to the bar and slams the serving tray on the bar. Everyone was almost done eating and as we were looking around for the waitress, she was nowhere to be found so we flagged down the manager Ruben and asked him for an update on our missing food as well as asked him where our waitress was. He just said "what else do you need?". We asked for additional drinks and ketchup. Emerald NEVER came back to check on our drinks or ask how we were doing or if everything was ok UNTIL it was time for the check. She brings the check and never asked how the food was or if we needed anything else. Without a word she hands each couple their check which included a tip. One of the checks was incorrect so we asked her to correct it, she did and then comes back without handing us the updated check, she hovers over us asking us if we are paying by card or cash? We asked her to give us the check and to step away that we needed to review it. We ended up removing the automatic tip as we felt we had the worst waitress service ever. I do not recommend the beef broccoli it was not tasty, the beef was thick cut and bloody, the rice was way overcooked and bland! Hopefully Emerald has better days and an attitude adjustment if she expects tips in the future. You don't treat people crappy and expect them to automatically tip you! read more

For Fathers Day they apparently misplaced our Reservation but two their credit they did clean a table and we did not have to wait very long. Then we found that on this special day the menu was NOT being offered and the buffet was the only option. This was a surprise given that when we made the reservation we were not told of this one-time change. This did not fit the dining plan for most at our table, but we succumbed to the mandated buffet. When the bill arrived, we found that they were charging $35 for the buffet that is normally a $20 charge. This price or buffet only today, was not posted in the entrance to the restaurant. We questioned this and were told that on this special day they added special protein items (hamburger patties and sausage links) and they needed to add $15 to recover the supposed additional cost. BTW the hamburger patties and sausage links looked nasty and no one at our table touched any of these items. We felt swindled by this and do not plan to support this restaurant in the future. read more

We have eaten at this establishment several times at different times of day. The food is consistently delicious! The waffles are somehow better than everywhere else. I didn't have the fruit because I prefer maple syrup, which was provided without asking. Perhaps the "pearl sugar" is the special ingredient; I'm not certain. The lunch we had was burgers and Reuben sandwiches and they too were excellent. Portions are large enough to take something home for a late night snack. Tonight we had pizza and calzones, which were fabulous! The men in our group had scheduled a meeting after dinner, so my girlfriends and I went to a separate area and had some of the best cheesecake we've ever had, as well as the salted caramel ice cream. I think the thing that we appreciated most was the friendly and efficient service by Jacob, our Server. He anticipated everything we might want and made us feel like family. Besides the great service I was able to observe Jacob training a lovely young lady named Abbey. He was so kind and respectful to her that it warmed my heart! I hope Jacob can receive some type of commendation, as it is rare to find someone who exemplifies customer service! read more

While, our server was pleasant, she had to apologize for the slowness of the kitchen. We arrived at 11:30am for lunch, and it wasn't busy. It literally took an hour for our food to arrive. Waiting an hour for food with a hungry 3yr old...well you can imagine. A couple of our orders were failures. The child's burger was very undercooked to the point the bun was bloody. The server offered to take it back, but we told her we didn't have time to wait another hour to wait. Then, the other fail was a simple crispy chicken sandwich with pickles and a spicy sauce. It came with Swiss cheese, one of my most disliked cheeses. Her response was, "well...they just changed the menu..." like she was irritated with the kitchen. I picked off the cheese and noticed there was barely a drip of sauce. To he honest, the crispy chicken is way better at McDonald's. Very doubtful we'll ever be back. read more

My wife and I went in at 4pm on Sunday 8/14. The place is huge and well appointed but seems almost cavernous when nearly empty. We asked to sit in the bar. There were zero guests in any areas we passed on the way. There were 6 others in bar area including a minor. Billy promptly greeted us and took our drink order. When drinks arrived, we ordered the Artichoke Dip. And here is where things took a steep downhill turn. While the spinach and artichoke was well-balanced, I'm at a loss to explain the greasy glob of cheddar resting on top. Less is often more, chef. And then Billy's shift is over. Our polite, attentive bartender/server is gone. We should have taken the hint and skated out behind him but had come in hopes of a meal so stayed. Billy's replacement (name withheld)wafted into the room on a cloud of her overpowering cologne. Finally getting her attention we ordered a couple of sandwiches. And until I asked for the check an hour later, that's the last we saw of her. A runner brought our food and no one checked on us again. The prime beef dip was tasty but meat was over cooked. Hardly any cheese, onion or pepper involved here. My wife described her chicken bacon ranch as "underwhelming" and there was some reference to Arby's. Our fries and sidewinders were both fresh and hot but lacked any seasoning. Basically it's over-priced, low-end bar food with cloth napkins served in a big, empty, well-decorated warehouse. This was our 3rd trip here. They don't get better. Maybe we try again after the next management change...maybe we don't. read more

First time here. Beautiful venue but WTH??? Friday before Christmas and there should have been at least three Christmas parties, but there were none. Food was good, prices were reasonable but why is this place empty?? This was our waiters third night. He was struggling but did okay. This s a fabulous, beautiful venue. But why is there no one here?! Maybe Service needs to improve!! My SIL is a professional singer so we moved to the bar for karaoke. We thought we would give this place a second try. Wrong! The waitress was nice enough but the food was not good at all. I ordered a burger and sweet potato fries. The burger tasted old and the fries were cold. She brought out another plate of fries and they were colder! My daughter's ahi tuna tasted old and she couldn't eat it. I really wanted to change my review after eating there for the second time.. The first time, we sat at the bar in the back. We loved the atmosphere, and the staff was friendly (clearly overwhelmed and undertrained), but the food needs work. Fish and chips were alright, but when we got asked how we'd like our burger and we said medium rare, but the only way to make a frozen patty is at least done, why even ask? It then took 20 minutes for 3 bartenders to figure out how to make a bloody mary, and by that time we were unimpressed. We went back 3 months later to the Sunday brunch. Another excuse about how only 1 guy was in charge of it all. The food was cold, the buffet was a disaster (syrup spilled all over, hot and greasy tongs from them falling in the pans- which is disgusting when you have any idea of cross contamination), there was hardly any food even out. It was obviously a challenge for him to keep up on his own. Anyways, we all decided if we would have left our hotels continental breakfast we would have been rather upset. I really hope The Park thrives,, maybe look into Bar Rescue if they want it to be anything big anytime soon :) read more
