Now, this is something that I don't think I've ever ordered before - not just here - but in general. I just can't recall. I'll go a lasagne, burger, sandwich and so on any day. But... A salad?! Never! Just not the thing that gets my tastebuds excited, however, having had a large lunch I wanted a light dinner and the goats cheese salad seemed appealing somehow. My. Word. Don't underestimate that bad boy, it'll take you buy surprise, and rub it in your face when you can't finish a plate of the lovely lovely goodness. Let me explain: You get a full bowl of leaves. The plate is packed with salad, fresh, crisp and bouncy, and delicately drizzled with a thick balsamic. Then come the plentiful tomatoes, cucumbers, and other such little healthy treats. And the final bit of boom is the goats cheese and pine nuts. Huge thick slices of the creamiest, tastiest cheese you could wish for. It was delectable! So, you know the rest. Dare's an ace spot for coffees, snacks, lunch, dinner, and has an excellent meal deal. (Two for one on early bird - which means you can be paying as little as four quid for dinner.) But the secret to this spot? That goats cheese salad, man. It's game changing.

A choice of Mediterranean mixtures that all go down a treat (especially when you choose to add extra ingredients) have rightly given Dare the reputation of being the best place to grab lunch in Headingley. One word of warning, however - the place gets very busy at peak times and the tables are rather crammed on top of one another, so if you're after somewhere to seduce, or even have an important conversation, I'd give it a miss.

Housed in what was a former mill it is a really classy joint. Great choice of food, from gourmet burgers classic chicken dishes, steak and fabulous mussels. The staff were lovely and friendly and efficient. We sat outside in the sunshine beside the dock. I am looking forward to going of an evening when the outside area is lit up with white lights. The interior is classy and spacious and there is a more formal area upstairs. All in all I really like this place.

So imagine my greedy hand-rubbing delight when we popped back into Pour House last Sunday and I spotted an Onion Burger on the menu. Would this be a lie? Would this be a few limpwristed flicks in the general direction of onionyness? (is a word) Would I see my onion dreams peeled away layer by layer until only the bitter root remained? No my friends. It was EPIC. It was a huge juicy burger with chutney, fried onion, sliced onion and a mahoosive onion ring served with perfect herby fries to a woman who was hungry like the wolf. Thighenlargingly yumtastic. The last time I was at Pour House I was sated and pleased, this time I was delighted and stuffed. The sun shone, the beer was perfect and I gorged my sweet ass on cepatic glory until I achieved oniongasm (is). It's a little on the dear side for a burger, if I recall it was £12 or so, but ee gads it was worth it. Be warned Pour House, if you ever take the Onion Burger off the menu I will literally tear your souls apart.

What a wonderful cafe in the heart of Keighley! I'm not the…read morecafe type usually. I'm the type of guy who likes a pub meal or failing that an proper restaurant. However in the need for fuel in the early afternoon with no pubs that provide food around bar the Rodney. I headed here with my Numpty in tow. Friendly greeting by the owner who didn't rush us despite my Numpty being indecisive about the offerings. I ended up picking for her in the end. We chose a variety of toasted sandwiches. Which in past experiences are usually a sorry sight. Here however... Toasted ciabatta which provides the right amount of crunch and chew. Chips and salad on the side. All tasting wonderful. We arrived not long before closing so negative nancy that I am, I thought we'd get scrag ends or they might be out of stock of some ingredients. Nope. Everything was fresh, everything was there. I'll be back. A wonderful surprise.

Scones here are huge and one was more than enough for my whole lunch. I couldn't even finish the whole thing. And it was really really good. They were mopping the floor upstairs to get ready to close at 5 and the place smelled like old mop water, but the girl let me open the side door right next to my table and then it was good. Although we didn't get one, there's tons of tables and seats by the window which means you get a beautiful view of central Leeds. I would come back and recommend it.

The leg came complete with the gravy of goddess, and couldn't have been cooked better in my humblest opinion. It was juicy, tender, and was finished off with a crispy bit of skin. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it, and I rarely find chicken interesting enough to ponder. The creme brûlée was probably one of the nicest I've had. Not overly creamy, not sugary. A perfect balance. As for the ambience, well. I guess this would depend on your preference. I can't deny there's an air of exclusivity, and not least due to the prices. That being said, I'd encourage a visit for several reasons. As a treat it's fabulous, and I can tell you now, I've walked in wearing jeans and had no comment. Not even a look. We ordered the Italian Mojito, Antipasti with Prosciutto Cotto and Scamorza Affumicate, the Nonna's Meatballs, Porchetta Crostone, and Sicilian Paccheri. The mojito was delicious and had a limoncello foam on it. Very refreshing. The antipasti was truly the highlight of the meal. The meat and cheese was delicious and the bread and onion chutney was perfect with them. If we visit again we would definitely would do more of the antipasti. The Nonna's meatballs were served in a bread bowl. These were ok, but didn't blow us away. However, the bread bowl was perfect for getting extra sauce from the other dishes. The Porchetta Crostone was a highlight of the meal. Very flavorful, the bread was crispy and it was a good mix of sweet and salty. This would be something we'd order again as well. The Sicilian Paccheri was a pistachio pesto pasta and was cooked al dente and was a very tasty pasta: they were generous with the sauce too so we dipped the bread from the Nonna's meatballs in the sauce as well. It wasn't too busy while we were there and we were amongst the last customers there for the evening. The staff was friendly and they were able to bring out our food pretty quickly. The restaurant would be good for date nights, meet ups and small or large groups. While we were there a group of about ten was wrapping up and seemed to have an amazing time as well.
