If you need more assistance, they'd be happy to help- but otherwise, you have free reign! If you want to change up the colors on the picture, that's definitely allowed and they'll give you a different paint palette so you can achieve that! Located way down on the left hand side of the center, it is not to be missed! Heartsome Handicrafts is a store that showcases various local crafters. They have everything you could imagine and more. It is like a year round craft show! The prices are so reasonable and the owner herself is a crafter. She is friendly and knowledgeable not only of her products, but of all of her crafters as well! If you see something you like but might be interested in a different customization many of the crafters are able to do so! My pawprint heart was made just for me! I also commissioned a wood portrait of one of my dogs that came out stunning. In the future I hopefully look forward to having a wool husky made from a picture of my other dog. All these things I probably wouldn't have been able to afford elsewhere. So many items are unique and for sure not just the same old things you see at fair after fair. I had such a great first impression at Clayscapes. I came in as a new small business owner and…read moreteacher, initially coming specifically for some tool kits and a specific clay body. The process was very seamless and fast and felt very much taken care of. Andrew, who helped me, was very knowledgeable with bodies and had I had more time I would have liked to have seen more of the site. I walked out with a sufficient amount of tools to get my program off the ground and the clay I really wanted. As Andrew assisted in loading my car, we saw a very injured bird (in this very packed parking lot). It was so disturbing how broken the wing was that I got on the phone several minutes later to find a rescue volunteer or find a way to take it home with me. I was told that there had just been a call placed in Syracuse with the same description and that it might be the same bird. On revisiting the parking lot, hoping to find the "girl from WA" who I was told caught it, we happened to see Andrew again and asked if he might know if it was scooped up. He smiled and said that they were the ones that caught it and it was off to be cared for. These are the kinds of people you want to do business with. My heart just swelled and I could drive back home feeling we did everything we could and what caring people run this place. I will be back again! I'm actually very surprised I am the first to leave a review as Clayscapes has been verbally recommended many times over since it has been about 20 years since I've bought clay in Upstate NY. I hope more follow suit!
