Pretty nice spot , only an hour away from home , the overall fields could use some work but overall still a great time. There are 3 fields , 2 of which are pretty good, 1 in which I wasn't much of a fan of. The Refs were great , and explained the rules well to all the newer players. We got there early and were able to set up on the tables they have available under the shaded area. Recommend this place for some casual fun paintball

Got A Groupon and it was amazing. There are Multiple fields, with lots of places to hide. The equipment worked perfectly. Two thumbs up to the Staff!!!!!

    After our epic battle!

I can't say enough about Alpine Paintball Park! From the friendly greeting when we were checking in, to Rodrigo who helped us navigate the Paintball trails. We had an absolute blast. To start off we flew in from Japan to visit family. We were on the hunt for something fun to do with our 3 boys, well we found it here. Our boys are 17, 12, and 9. What really sold me on this facility was their down to earth staff who were laid back but efficient on the safety, respectful, which is obsolete these days. Rodrigo really helped my 9 year old Angelo and made sure he was taken care of when he would get hit. Rodrigo would yell louder to ensure he didn't get hit anymore then needed, when Angelo was hit in the face Rodrigo took off his mask and gave it to my son then cleaned off his mask and face for him. He also checked on my son when he needed a minute to catch his breath in the 97° weather. Honestly as a mom I was touched to see such compassion. I would book again solely on the kindness of Rodrigo.

The BEST outdoor game ever! There are a lot of settings and the ref is super nice! The space is big. I love air bowl setting the most. Btw, ref really wants you to be safe! If they yell at you to put the mask on or the cover on on your gun because they really want you to be safe and want you to not get hurt! Seriously, they are super nice! They(bus driver and ref) are tired and don't forget to tip them after the games.

And this is an example of what they were up against...rifles against machine guns...

I took a group of nine kids from junior high and high school who just rented their off-the-shelf single pull guns and this company mixed them in with adults in full camo strapped with full on accessory ammo and semi automatic paint guns. The kids would be crouched behind trees and other cover and these guys with their semi automatics would just be spraying them with paintballs relentlessly. It wasn't much fun. In the end management I think meant well and they tried to even things out by moving the big guys around but the whole thing was just a poorly run amateurish mess. A very expensive experience as well. At one point they came up to me and told me I wasn't going to be happy because they were forced to mix my kids in with a group of professionals who were practicing for a competition - all of this because the supervisor was going to lunch. I told them to forget it that we would wait until the supervisor got back from lunch so we didn't have to play with pros. They've got some great outdoor courses the place has a lot of potential. But when you drop $300 and it's for a very special birthday, and afterwards the kids were complaining that it just wasn't fair, well just not a great experience you know? They have to figure out a way to even things out otherwise it's just a rip off. Management will tell you that all guns are supposed to shoot at the same velocity - which may or may not be enforced from what I could see and from what I overheard - but it's not the velocity, it's the number of balls per second being shot. They admitted that while the regulars were considerate enough to try and keep things even, the issue was with drop ins. So ask yourself, do you want to take a chance with your event? There is a private group option but there is a 15 person minimum at $50 each - $750. Yikes.

The gun power is less and the bullets are smaller to hurt less. Next time, I will definitely reserve a spot 24hrs prior. 4 stars only because from 12:45pm - 4pm my 9 year old only played 2 games. I don't know if this is an average. Face shield mandatory! Long loose pants, long sleeve shirts, and gloves are recommended. Thick layers or double layer are ideal for pain tolerance and weather conditions. Closed toed comfortable shoes. Wear close that you're okay getting dirty. Non alcoholic beverages, snacks and food are okay. You just can't BBQ or cook anything. 12:45PM - Arrived. The park is in the Barona area. The park shares space close to a Motocross/Dirt Bike Track. Signs will point you in the correct direction. Parking is on a dirt lot. Free parking. Checked it for a walk in. There were no Paintball Soft Guns available for rent at arrival, but the front desk guy said between 1:15pm - 1:30pm he will have an answer. We waited until then. 1:30PM - Paintball Soft Gun available. I paid $65 for 1000 paint balls, entry, mask, and gun rental. They taught my 9 year old how to manage the Paintball Soft Gun. There was a target area where he could practice shooting. 1:45PM - The referee had to take his 30min break. 2:15PM - Referee done with break. He gathered all the Paintball Soft crew. Broke the group up into a green team and pink team. He explained the rules of how to handle the gun, when to not shoot, masks always on, etc. 2:30PM - Game 1. Walked over to the first map. I was a spectator. The players looked like they had fun. Parents can watch from a far. Maps are located on beginner friendly hiking trails 3:00PM - Game end. 10 minute break for next game. 3:30PM - Gather group back. Referee briefs the group again. Walks group to new map. Game 2 begins. 4:00PM - Game ends. My nephew is tired and ready to be done. The park closes at 4PM but there were still games starting after. If we stayed, my nephew would probably have done a total of 3 games.

THERE ARE NO PLACES TO EAT NEARBY. - WATER. WATER. WATER. If you're using a GPS, it will be super easy to find this place. If you're not, then it can be slightly tricky. KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE SIGNS. Lots of parking! This was my first time ever paintballing so I was a little weary of being in pain. And I kid you not, after shooting your first few rounds you realize how powerful your gun is. And with that, how much it would hurt to get hit. I definitely prayed that I wouldn't die that day--and God had mercy. Thankfully I never wanted to rambo anyone so I stayed clear from emminent danger. Others, not so lucky. We had the Living Social deal (6 tickets for 30 bucks including gear, entrance fee, etc. Pay for paintballs) The lady and other staff were very helpful in getting my party of 7 (mostly newbies) squared away with gear and safety precautions. And minus the adrenaline-rushing factor, it was a great feeling when your team would win a few times. 400 rounds of paintballs cost 11.50 after tax. Lasts 3-4 games if you dont go crazy. Air is free to refill. Tips: - Take a dump before coming here - there are only portable restrooms. Ew, man. - Expect to at least pay 20 bucks extra per person. - Make friends and you'll have a lot of fun. We even got a free box of paintballs because a party just bailed and left it behind for us. - Dont be too scared of being hit or else you'll just stand around scared...like me. - If you have stray paintballs on the ground, DONT PUT THEM IN YOUR GUN. Step on them; they are strangely therapeutic and feel funny like you're crushing big berries...or snails.

I bought a Groupon in advance for a party of 12, then went online to make a reservation. A sales rep called me back within 24 hours as the website promised and we went over the usual information. Checking in was a breeze and the guys at registration and equipment rental made sure our group was taken care of. The guys were great and immediately fixed or replaced any rental equipment, they also offered to help troubleshoot any issues from my friends' markers (guns) they brought in. Dylan was our dedicated concierge-referee for the day because our group was a private party, so no walk-on hardcore experts were allowed to blast our group of mostly casuals & newbies. Dylan made sure we checked out all the different fields (maps) and kept the pace moving. He is a cool dude, like the rest of the staff, and knowledgable with the paintball craft. The fields: Urban, Castle, Western, Spools, Grove. Each environment provided a variety of hard cover, terrain type, and boundary size to challenge any skill level. It's not the most number of fields for a San Diego park, but there's enough to entertain our group for several hours when you mix in different game types and objectives. My legs and feet are still feeling the effect of the workout. Another plus is the opportunity to see the Cleveland National Forest and its local flora and fauna. There still isn't a snack bar, so you must bring your own snacks and drinks. We hiked our coolers around the dirt trail from the parking lot to the picnic area. The general community of paintballer groups are respectful of each other's space. Giant Paintball has lockers available, but we felt comfortable enough leaving our coolers and extra boxes of paintball ammo unattended in the picnic area as we went off to play our matches. While some may find exception with the distant parking lot, port-a-potties, or no refreshment stand, I think Giant Paintball Alpine provides a very good time in terms of customer service and available venues that the negatives aren't really deal breakers if you know what to expect in advance. If you're not into the action, there's still Viejas casino & outlet shopping nearby and Alpine Brewery is just down the hill. We'll be back again sometime.

The absolute best airsoft field in Southern California…read more The fields themselves have a diverse mix of medium to large size AO's. The only field type Alpine does not have is some kind of CQB layout. Whether is an open hill focused field with bunkers throughout, dirt mound style, or a forest with active creeks running through it, this park has it. The fields have a perfect amount of variety where you never have a game that you aren't looking forward to playing or a game that feels repetitive. The staff at Alpine is really what stands out. In particular, Jon, really shines through with a passion for the game that comes out every time I go to this park. You can tell that the people that work here enjoy showing up for their job and the customers at the field. The refs are fair and will always find a solution to any conflicts that might arise. I can't say enough good things about the treatment we've received from the staff here. They have even gone out of their way to say hi to us when they run into us at larger milsim events. The facilities are always clean and the fields themselves are well maintained. The other key differentiating factor for this field is the rate of play. Other fields we have played at can have up to 1 or 1.5 hour long waits between playing sets of games. Alpine consistently has 15-20 minutes between games and you never feel like you're sitting around or the staff is just doing their own thing without a regard for the people wanting to play. All of these culminate in the best airsoft field I have been to so far. I can't recommend this field enough for players of all skill levels and ages. Thank you to all the staff of Modern Airsoft and we look forward to giving you more of our business.

I like the longer range stuff, haha. The people are generally awesome and there's a lot of comradeship, (mostly friendly) competition and we have always felt welcomed here! The refs are knowledgeable, friendly and safe! This particular field (Alpine) can be exhausting as some maps are LARGE w hills, rocks, bushes, trees, ravines, etc. But it is also SO awesome bc of all this things. PROs: We play as a family and we all feel welcome! Even as brand new beginners w rentals, most everyone was so encouraging! It is a great community feel and everyone is willing to help each other. The refs are great and there's lots of rugged terrain to get the MILSim feel. The games are fun and sometimes we get to use full auto (only certain modes, per ref) We don't need any pass like Pendleton does. Negatives- -It sucks to share the reload area with paintballers- keep your stuff semi stored away in bags or just out of sight. It's nice that there is rope dividing the area now. - We did have a tick one time when we came home from here, BUT that's because there were so many great places/bushes to hide and search in, etc. - If you are unstable or have an injury, Pendleton may be a little better due to large area, uneven ground, hills, etc. ***but that's also what makes this field FUN!**** TIPS: Come early Bring a chair Bring lots of water, snacks, lunch... If you have an easy up, you may want it if you don't get a shady spot. Shoes: We wear tactical boots and they have worked great.

Their catalog no longer includes the tactical gear, vests or molle pouches though they still carry the DAM and magazines. They just don't give you options on how to carry them on the field. As for the HQ location the building is nice, parking is good and they have a display room. The problem is you don't really have the setup that is suitable to window shopping. You will need to know what you want when you walk through the door. They have frequent walk ins but aren't really designed to support that function. I was able to buy some items but it took a while between the clerk ringing up the order and having someone run stuff from the warehouse. Not really a destination to visit but worth the trip if you live in the area. I ended up here after all of the SD area paintball shops didn't have any Dye gear in stock.
