I was in room 3 which overlooks the Market Street (although no Market) and another local Public House. Nice plesant public areas including a recently refurbished restaurant which is relatively modern but still in-keeping with this old building. There is also a bar area where lots of the locals enjoy a wide selection of drinks including 4 cask ales, 4 draught lagers and Guinness, as well as a local Cider (Ashton Press). The Front of House Staff are all very friendly and accommodating namely Nicola, Emillia, AJ and Flo. The owner of the property is frequently on site and ensures everyone is made to feel at home (David). The food is good, many dishes cooked in-house and mostly 'to-order'. I couldn't find anything negative to say about this property and (I for one) will be back , they are gradually refurbishing the hotel and what has been done to date is nice and tastefull. Well worth a visit, the room rates are excellent, and includes freshly cooked breakfast to individually placed orders.

The lovely and bubbly Louis checked us in and gave us our first taste of just how friendly the people of Stroud are. The hallways have a funny scent reminiscent of primary school, crayons maybe. As per usual with the Premier Inn, the rooms aren't luxurious, but they are clean, have all of the necessary touches and not outrageously priced. In the UK and Europe, the size of beds is always a bit of a disappointment, but we were pleasantly surprised to see a Super King in our room. The windows in the room open, so if you're a weirdo who likes fresh air and low temperature in the room, no matter the temperature outside, you will like this. A giant Tesco Superstore is just across the street, so we popped in to pick up some goodies for our breakfast, and a few items we hadn't seen in our local stores to bring home. The restaurant and bar downstairs is open until 10:00pm, I believe and does have some beer and wine on, though no real ales or craft beers, sadly for us. All in all, we were incredibly happy with this find, and highly recommend it for your stay in Stroud.

The bar area is wooden floor and there is a raised section of the restaurant too. Bar and restaurant prices aren't cheap - but they are typical of hotel bars and restaurants. The rooms are quite nice too - although some of them aren't very big - but then, they're not marketed as luxury suites!! The hotel has it's own health club - which can get very busy. The pool is only small, as is the jacuzzi - but there is also a steam room, sauna, gym and exercise studio. The gym/pool is open to non residents as well as hotel guests. The hotel has a large car park, a big function room, and several small meeting rooms. It is also accessible from the M5 and within easy reach of the City Centre.

The room provided a comfortable bed, good hanging space and mirrors, a large comfortable bed, TV, but no phones. The Bathroom is large and has a very deep tub/shower. The tub is slippery getting in or out. No wash cloths, and only 1 large bath towel and 1 hand towel for the two of us Free coffee and tea in room as well. The Inn provides a buffet breakfast for extra which we did not try. There are many eating places very close by. We were quite happy with our stay and encountered no problems. Would recommend.
