The Owl is one of our favorite coffee stops on our way north to Michigan. The place has great ambience, a lively Saturday morning business, great coffees and lattes, decadent pastries, and terrific customer service. At one point, I literally felt bad for those who don't get the white chocolate hot chocolate. That drink was not expected, especially that white chocolate is the best chocolate ever even though it is nowhere. The bathroom (the one around the corner) is so cute, probably because there is only sunlight out the high up windows. Service is amazing ! read more

This place is a great alternative to Starbucks. The drinks are always great and the coffee/hot coco is always hot and tasty. They never have forgot anything in my order and the service is always quick. The overall vibe and ambience is great with local bands playing music occasionally and the holiday decorations and lights make it feel very cozy. SUCH a cute place. Indoor outdoor seating and inside you have booths, tables, barstools. It's a great place to study or enjoy a social hour. From craft cocktails to coffee to fruit smoothies, there is literally something here for everyone. Super friendly staff and environment is cozy all around. I read my book and enjoyed my coffee and treats while my son(coffee date) watched their tv and enjoyed his hot cocoa and homeade muffin. It was lovely. We will definitely visit again. read more

This hip place located in downtown Milan serves coffee (frozen and hot), tea, beer, and wine. The atmosphere is very welcoming and cozy. It's a fairly large place with both indoor and outdoor seating. Inside there are dining type tables and an area near the front window with a couch and two comfy chairs. It's those comfy chairs that welcomed me! Dave and I both ordered a frozen caramel mocha, since it's our favorite and we wanted to "play it safe". The employee went out of his way to make them just right for us. Whipped cream? Salt on top? Of course, we said yes to both. The salt on top was so yummy!! Although we mainly tasted it towards the end of the drink, it was the perfect ending to a delicious drink. If you are in the area, check out this unique coffee shop! Best place to hang out with a coffee or beer in Milan. They carry fantastic coffee and are all very knowledgeable on the subject. For the afternoon, a full line up of beer and wine. Also a shockingly large selection of whiskey for whatever your heart desires. WiFi available. Plenty of booths and tables with plugs for laptops. Good for work away from home. The Owl (formerly the location of the Lighthouse coffee shop, and now under new ownership) is a valuable part of the small community. There are events, board games available, and during the non-peak hours, a calm, quiet place to rest and reflect. There is trivia once a week, big video game nights once a month, often live entertainment like music and plays, and the drinks are great! There are also some things to eat, clean bathrooms, beautiful wood furniture, and lovely music. You will like it!! The Owl contributes to the community by being a drop station for donations to Toys for Tots, a pickup point for the local free newspaper, having a community bulletin board, and being a regular gathering place for organized entertainment. Stopped in at this adorable coffee shop while I was in Milan last weekend and totally fell in love! My pumpkin pie latte with almond milk was delicious as was my pumpkin pie muffin (I couldn't help it!). The staff was so friendly and nice, we asked for directions and they gave us recommendations on disc golf parks in the area. I'm going to move to the area soon and would absolutely make this place my regular stop! read more

Not just a cup of coffee, but an experience. Games, books, movie night, art fairs, gamer night, wi-fi... And, the owners clearly care about the world around them with the fair trade coffee they sell (which is a very good cup of coffee). They also are pure Milan, supporting and hosting local events, getting involved in local causes, and have you seen the new counters? Made of salvaged wood from the renovation on Main Street, built by local craftsmen, and enhanced with intricate wood burning by a local artist. The Morning Owl loves Milan and Milan loves the Morning Owl. Oh and their Peppermint Mocha is to die for. read more
