Usually when a guy goes to the doctor, it's the last resort. We're guys - we don't like to go to the doctor - even when they get us healed or back on our feet again quickly...we're stubborn... unless there's a large metal object poking us in the eye, we're not going. If it doesn't stop us from watching the football game, we're staying home! Simple as that.
But, when we DO go, and we're taken great care of, the baby in us guys comes out. We're so very appreciative that somebody made us feel better and we share that info with anyone and everyone who'll listen. Such is the case here today.
Back in the early summer, I somehow hurt my right knee. It was hard to walk, the pain was at least an 8 on a 1 to 10 scale - it wasn't nice. After several days of hurting and having a hard time walking to go anywhere, I called the good doctors at TOC and made an appointment. They were able to get me an appointment for THE VERY SAME DAY - and I left work early for that appointment. The staff there are VERY customer focused, and do all that they can do to make their patients feel better and back out the door quickly. Dr. Cantrell saw me and was quick to x-ray both my knees (to get a comparison) and he found that I had a strained meniscus. He put me in a cast - gave me a shot in that knee and I was almost dancing down the hall on my way home. Several days later I was back to 100% and it's not hurt since! Thank you Dr. Cantrell! - and whoever it was that fitted me for the brace and shot me with the meds... they all helped a great deal!
For the past few days, both of my legs and ankles have been bothering me. I keep noticing that my right ankle is rolling a lot when I walk - and my left leg hurts a lot when I have to stand for any long period of time. I've not yet got a large metal object in my eye, but since Dr. Cantrell did such a great job earlier in the summer, I contacted them again via their online portal, and requested an appointment.
I hadn't hung up 10 minutes and my work phone rang. When I answered it, imagine how surprised I was to hear it was the good folks at TOC calling to validate my appointment! She wasn't able to confirm when I can see Dr. Cantrell as his nurse is out of the office today, but imagine how pleased I am seeing how quickly they are to get me back to 100%...
