Sigh. I had to come to The Orchard when I was having problems with my old iPhone. My closest Apple Store is in Baton Rouge, so Apple has these little orchards popping up in cities so they can diagnose your problem without you having to have to drive too far. While I appreciate the clever name and convenience, having to go through phone issues is always so annoying. Especially since I didn't consider my iPhone 7 to be a dinosaur yet, but I guess I was wrong. Look I'm an Apple girl all the way but I've come to realize that all Apple users are basically their bitches. Think about how attached you are to that thing and when it breaks you're shelling out the dollars just to get it or the newer version of it back in your hands. All that aside, the guys here were so nice and helped my issue but basically warned me to brace myself...my phone was not much longer in this world. They were right. I'm an iPhone X owner now. I brought my phone in because it wasn't holding a charge. The staff was incredibly friendly and took the time to explain the repair process to me. They tested the phone, identified the problem, and ordered the part all in the same day and, when the part came, the repair was very quick! They even allowed me to keep my phone while the part was arriving. Will definitely be back! read more

Had them change battery in my phone. Afterwords, speaker and front camera did not work. Their solution: charge me another $170 to replace the screen. Stated it must be a hardware problem. Did not offer to look at my phone again, even after explaining it had all worked prior. Diagnostic said mic was failing prior. Salesman told me it was dirty and they would clean it when replacing battery and never mentioned word failing. Failing and dirty do not mean the same thing to me! Manager unhelpful and condescending. He's also the repair technician. Go figure. read more

I went in for a question and had set up an appointment. First off, despite a sign by the door, several of the customers were not wearing masks which made me uncomfortable. Then I got in line because there was no other clear direction for me. Having set an appointment beforehand, I assumed I would be seen accordingly. It did not really matter because I was seen within a minute or two. The guy behind the counter was helpful and friendly. I'm a software engineer at Fortune 500 company and deal with lots of similar things. I've had 3 interactions with The Orchard. I really don't look forward to going there... Pro Tip - Unless your issue specifically needs an "Apple Authorized" service provider, please goto the other place in town that does this work. --- First Interaction: I scheduled an appointment through Apple support to repair a damaged iPad. The Orchard was listed as an Authorized Service Provider. When I arrived for my appointment, I was informed that they could not repair my device on sight. All they can do is mail it off. Fun fact - I can do that myself. They also don't take appointments from Apple (which is only somewhat true). Someone from this facility should have contacted me about the appointment to inform me that they could not do anything. I highly recommend taking the trip to the Apple Store in BR to address any issues. Most things will be fixed immediately at an Apple Store. Second Interaction: Warranty repair on a Mac actually went really well.. it was extremely fast and well done. The associates were friendly and assured me it was under new management. By far top tier hardware repair service. Third Interaction: Back to the "we don't do appointments from Apple" again. Rather than explaining the process or being considerate of a customer not knowing the inter working of the system, the employees just talk down to people. Beware, they will lie and tell you anything just to get your money!! Right before my vacation I wanted to get a phone so I didn't have to worry about water. We were going to be boating/beaching and I didn't want to worry about my phone due to a cracked screen. I was on my way to purchase a brand new phone from AT&T. As my husband and I were walking up to the AT&T door, Nick one of their techs were right outside the AT&T store. My husband asked him if he could talk to him for a second, Nick stopped and talk to my husband and I. He asked him if we were to pay almost $400 for the screen to be replaced if it would still be water resistant? Nick went on to tell us we had nothing to worry about to not go waste my money and purchase a new phone when the newest phone hasn't came out yet it will be coming out soon . He convinced us it was the right thing to do. Here I am today, two weeks later with a cell phone that is no good to me. It's as good as a paperweight to me. I can no longer trade it in for an upgrade or do anything with it because it is now ruined due to water damage. Let me say that phone was never submerged, underwater, or anything. So now I'm out a little over -$2500, and the store, not wanting to reimburse me, or help me in any type of way as if it's my fault and a new phone when I did it too. Brought in a computer with suspected virus. They kept it for a few days and tested thoroughly, wiped and restored the drive and made sure there was no sign of viruses. No extra charge after the initial check in fee! Very well worth the money and very professional! read more

My iMac decided to crash on me during COVID-19 so Apple recommended the orchard. I called and they told me to bring my computer in and I did. They gave me a quote for services and told me they would let me know what the issue was in call me back. A few days passed and I hadn't heard from them so I called them back and they told me that I would need a new hard drive. The cost was on par with what I figured it would be so I didn't have any complaints and was happy with explanation of services needed. I was also happy with a time frame in which they said that the service will be finished. Once my computer was picked up I ordered a few other items from the store, Checked out and left. I got my computer home and it seems to be working OK. I did have a few glitches however I am not sure they are related to the repair from the orchard. Overall I would recommend this place and I would return as a customer. Thanks for a great service. read more

Terrible company! They deleted all of our precious baby photos and videos, which are now gone forever. We bought a $2000 computer from them and they deleted all of our photos and videos when they were supposed to transfer them from the old computer. They say they back up everything for 30 days, but they didn't. They didn't even take responsibility, apologize, or offer anything to compensate us for this. This is my second incident with The Orchard.. the young guy was sarcastic, rude and although I just hung up with Apple support and they told me they called them ahead of time ..his response (while rolling his eyes was "no she didn't haha" I had an appointment and I also have AppleCare. When I saw the appointment take a fast turn for the worse and he was loud talking, I figured it best to pick up my phone and walk out. As I did he started yelling "So what you gonna do, just walk out, listen to me, I am the manager" I have never been so embarrassed I said "this is exactly why I am leaving." he said sarcastically, "well then, have a nice day " and started laughing! Friendly customer service cannot cancel out the incompetence I found at The Orchard. After dropping my IPhone and purchasing a new one, I was told I could bring both to The Orchard to transfer everything. After discussing with an employee, I was told a screen repair was needed first, so I paid upfront and signed my phone in- only to come back to an iPhone restored to factory settings. I wasn't offered a refund, and upon asking was told I signed a form saying they were not liable for this type of mistake (even though this was not what I was told I was signing). I lost $200, important pictures/contacts, and wasted my time. read more

Do NOT I repeat NOT go there. Last resort, unfortunately I was on mine and had to go there. They rip you off first off. Some of them were nice this one guy was very rude and talked to me like i was dumb. But I dropped my computer off to change the battery and they took OVER A MONTH. When I told them I needed it back the next week ( and they said they would have it done) also, every time I called them they would lie. I would call them on Monday say it would be ready by Wednesday ( they would never call on Wednesday) and then on Thursday I would call and they would say some new lie. The orchard should be a last last last resort they are a rip-off I took my Mac air because it was glitching before going out before even looking at it I had to pay $99 two days later they called claiming my screen was crack on the inside can't be seen just looking at it cost additional $599 to fix keep in mind I paid it $1100 I told them it was never dropped even though they insisted that caused the issue I contacted Apple for warranty purposes they extended the warranty to cover the damages but the orchard claims I still had to pay $599 because it wasn't gonna cover the physical damage supposedly next day I pick up my Mac from them contacted Apple told them the situation they sent out a box for me to ship it to them and it was covered under the warranty at No cost to me an Apple advisor said they having problems with 3rd party dealers double dipping they are charging Apple and the customers because obviously the customers are gonna believe when they say it cost more to repair their merchandise especially we want our macs or phones back ASAP in working order Beware of the scams they pulling at the orchard how sad taking advantage of people there's other places in Lafayette that can repair Apple products without charging a fee to tell you the problem Sad part the guys in there making the store rich by getting over the customers read more

I brought my daughters NEW I phone 13 into the store to get all her data transferred from her three year old phone. These guys KNOW THEIR STUFF!! Everyone was so professional and so awesome in their job. The job was no small task I came to understand because it took HOURS to transfer. So many hours that two of the guys stayed an hour passed the normal operating hours! Nicholas was the prime champ in staying until the job was DONE! He even helped box up the trade in phone so that we could mail it back to AT&T. I kept apologizing that the transfer was taking so long. Everytime I said this, the guys just told me it was part of their job. That is dedication and service to the brand. I was in customer service relations at one time and this is what we look for in a great employee. The store even had all the accessories that we needed as Apple does not include everything they used to in buying a new phone. My daughter goes to college out of town and I needed to make sure that her phone worked for all purposes. These AWESOME guys made sure that took place. In a world where there are so many people short handed and busy, this store had such great representation to be TOP NOTCH!! I will not ever hesitiate to go back or send anyone there because you have a great experience while in the store and a greater appreication after you leave. read more

I was quoted $50 and 1 hr to replace my iPhone7 battery. Long story short, they charged me $160 for a battery they never gave me, and they broke my phone and said they would replace it in two days--when I went in to get my phone after two days, they "don't know what happened to my old phone" and "don't know why that guy told me two days" because it would be a week. They also didn't keep my contact information for when my phone came in, so they were never going to contact me. read more

Below one star. Went in because of the Solid State recall on MacBook Pro. They told me to purchase a USBc adapter cord so that I could back up my Mac beforehand. Adapter cost $86. I didn't realize that one came with my external hard drive so I went in same day to return the Adapter and they charged me 10% restocking fee..../... Sorry guys..... After spending $2500 on my laptop with you this is the thanks that I get. You just lost a customer over $8.60. Hope it was worth it. read more

All the workers were very snooty. Treated me like an idiot and made me pay a crazy fee to fix my computer that had a problem. When I later looked up the problem, turns out it is super common, but they acted like I was the only one. they were NOT helpful, I had to call the store in Baton Rouge to get some help on what to do. This place charged me $400 and didn't even fix it! I recommend going some place else! read more

I wish I would have read all the negative reviews before going to the Orchard. I was told my phone needed to be replaced by Mr Sonnier, who I later found out was a manager. He suggested I go to my provider (sprint) where I could possibly get a replacement phone. I went to sprint and they did a soft reboot by pressing three buttons. No replacement needed. Wow!!! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE GOING TO THE ORCHARD IF THE MANAGER IS NOT CAPABLE OF DOING A SIMPLE REBOOT. read more

Seriously, best customer service I have had anywhere. The communication was exceptional. They called to give me updates on my computer the entire time they had it. They also were able to recover all my date/ pictures/ music from an encrypted back up. They are magical!! Went here desperately trying to get pictures off of a broken iPhone. They charged me $30 to look at the phone. Called me the next day and said they couldn't do it but if I went through them to a data recovery company they recommend I could save 10%. Oh and that's ten percent on a charge of anywhere from $1700 to $4500. Obvious scam. Took my phone to In and Out in North Lafayette. $40 and 20 minutes later I had pictures. We are traveling, passing through Lafayette. Our laptop stopped working and our warranty expires before we get home. The staff, especially Brett the manager, went out of their way, spending a long time on hold with Apple, to be sure Apple had it documented that the problem occurred before the warranty expired. I can't say they fixed the problem because the problem will be dealt with when we get home. But I was extremely impressed by the courtesy and the lengths to which they went to help me. If I lived here, they would get all my Apple business. read more

I had a great experience. The sales staff that we interacted with were very friendly. They worked with us in making our selection and I am an IT manager. I had my choices narrowed down and know what they are talking about. Bought a new retina MBP 15" and brought it home it worked fine the first night but would not boot up the next day. The staff worked with us to get a new laptop and even transferred the apple care onto the new one. They took as much time as it took and were very friendly. I found the sales staff to be knowledgeable and had an overall great experience. No it is not an Apple store but for our small town it is great! I rated them a 4 of 5 because I thought the accessories selection was somewhat limited and they were out of a few things. Otherwise they are great.
