Needless to say, as soon as I discovered this place I stopped, jumped out, and grabbed a coffee. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to grab some breakfast, but I did grab what turned out to be an awesome coffee. Yeah, my gut feeling turned out to be correct, this place was awesome, but then again many of the awesome coffee shops happen to be located in the back streets, much like this one.

When I asked for a refund, it took quite a while and only the sandwich was refunded, not the coffees we'd had while waiting. The food in the display cabinet looked fairly average, so perhaps it was just as well we didn't wait any longer. Overall, a disappointing experience and not one I'd return for.

But the Gooby Goose is a breath of fresh air! The coffee is so delicious that I'd consider bathing myself in it if they made large enough containers! Seriously, this place rivals my favourite over at Delicia O'Halloran Hill. The place is cute, the staff are friendly, and I'm yet to have a bad coffee there, highly recommend!

Yeah, this place was rather nice, and being close to the beach as well also helps, but that is probably why it happens to be one of those takeaway places.

The menu is basic with burgers and wraps getting a strong showing but don't let that turn you off as they all taste great. If you have kids this is a really great venue as well. I just wish I lived closer to this gem as a typical visit takes a 20min drive for me

Today we came and tried the sloppy joes which were amazing and great value also at only $15.90. Keeping it in the Greek family…read more This classic inner Adelaide suburban corner shop used to house George and his family serving up deli items when every suburb had a reliable deli for the last minute, need it right now milk, ice cream or bread before we had supermarkets open to 9.00pm (yes this is awhile ago). Back then Parkside was a bit dingy, a bit boho and very multicultural - Greek and Italian families predominated. Fast forward 25 years and Parkside has now been gentrified and and is a bit yuppiefied but blessedly Duthy St deli harks back to its deli origins and not just in name only. Vasili our host, has been smoothly operating a very successful cafe here for a number of years. Good service, well trained baristas, efficient chefing on view and a consistent, reliable extremely well presented selection of breakfast and lunch cold and hot items. Shrewdly but thankfully very competitively priced in a locale that could cough up more. Always good and always fresh -congratulations on maintaining the tradition in a slice of slightly out of the way suburbia. PS I do miss the Haigh's dark chocolate buttons though that used to accompany the coffee (I'd be prepared to pay a little more to have the chance to drop one in to create a gooey chocolaty melting moment on top of my latte/cappuccino froth). Ah - those were the days. Sigh!

Especially got a laugh from the visible work 'notice board' reminding wait staff to generally stop being idiots and stay off their phones during service piled amongst other threats. Does explain the faultless service on their part. Food is pricey but utterly amazing, the space is huge and the service is awesome so ruling with an iron fist must be working for them! Coffee was made by who I assume was the owner as he exuded the kind of confidence with a coffee machine only decades could foster. The eggs were perfect, my partners french toast and burger were beautiful and all up it was a great and riotous experience. Will be back!

From a train driver barista, to a hord of trendy looking bearded men making coffee and food for you this place is a haven for women and even the odd beard-fan man. Holy trout the Smoked Ocean Trout on pumpkin bread with horseradish cream is finger-licking good! Sam (the owner) says "we're more about serving up good coffee here," but I tend to disagree... these guys talk down their ability to serve simple, delicious meals for breakfast, lunch and linner (yes lunch and dinner) or even lessert (dessert for lunch). Arguably however, these boys obviously take a lot of pride in serving up good coffees too (with bonsoy to add - tick!). They must have had experience with similar customers to me saying "I really want another but I'll be climbing the walls if I do - how can you help me?" because they certainly know how to make a mean (I can't believe it's not coffee) decaf. The layout of the cafe is simple, there aren't many chairs outside, but it's light enough inside to make you feel like you are in an open aired warehouse most days. What a great little local!
