Cost- Expect the cost to be significantly more than the cost of a basic membership at your gym. When you're comparing personal trainers and cost is a big factor don't think that "more expensive" automatically means "better results." Price varies depending on your availability and plan chosen (2-3x/week, 4x/week, etc) Personal training with Steve and Stephanie was affordable. They worked with my budget. It was worth every penny!
Location/Parking - It is located around other businesses and shares a parking lot with 1 other gym? Parking lot tends to be full especially before and after work, but there is street parking. Be prepared to walk a few minutes!
Gym - This gym is shared with other personal trainers that do 1 on 1 and/or group sessions. Occasionally there are afterschool programs that rent the gym as well. The gym is equipped with multiple benches, bars, free weights, and a variety of machines and workout equipment. Rarely are you waiting on someone else. And if you are waiting, it is usually only a couple of minutes. Big plus, everyone is nice and doesn't mind sharing
Length of session - I never felt rushed during my workouts. Unlike your typical gym personal trainer, you are not paying by the hour and they will not cut you off if you hit the 1 hour mark. Instead of paying for 1 hour sessions, you are paying for the session itself - in other words, you're paying for however long it takes you to finish the session.
Session - A typical session consists of warm up, stretching, 2 circuits that are repeated 3 times each, and a cool down activity. Each circuit will have 4-5 variety of exercises (a mix of body weight, free weights, machine, boxing, bands, etc..) You will never have the same boring routine. Every time you come in, your session activities are always different and you're always working on different muscles!
Personal Trainer - I worked with Steve for almost 6 months. Steve was great at making me feel more comfortable at the gym and not intimidated by the variety of equipment or exercises. He made sure I knew how to use the equipment, corrected my posture, and talked me through the different muscles I was working on. He pushed me to lift more or do more reps, but also encouraged me to listen to my body's needs whether that be taking a break or lowering my weights. Steve was very attentive to any pain or discomfort I had and knew how to alter my workouts or give advice on how to stretch my muscles. Steve worked with me to develop a nutrition plan and answered any questions I had regarding my eating habits. He was available by texting and always responsive to my messages. Steve was also very flexible with my schedule. He understands that life happens, and was always more than willing to move a workout session. Steve and Stephanie were friendly and interpersonal. They took the time to get to know me and help me achieve my fitness goals.
Results - Results vary per person. I worked out 3x/week and ate a lot healthier. Sticking to the nutrition plan was difficult at times (but that is totally my fault). I didn't see much change in weight, however I am a lot leaner and feel stronger, healthier, and more energized. I have been getting many compliments from family, friends, and colleagues who have all noticed the change.
Overall: Trainers aren't cheap, but the benefits can be priceless. Steve and Stephanie are awesome! Would definitely recommend! Looking forward to coming back read more
