It's a wonderful place to take your girlfriends for a weekend of art or getting ready for a wedding. It is spacious, but you still feel connected to everyone there. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the equipment you might need to cook if you so choose. The beds are comfy. The sun room is the place to be. It has a sleeper sofa and a day bed with a trundle. It is such a happy place with light coming from everywhere. The almost floor to ceiling windows to the 4 large skylights make it a wonderful place for coffee or to read a book. The garden and patio are bonuses. It sleeps 10 comfortably. I highly recommend it.

No notification. After forcing the Inn's hand they changed the accomodations closer to what they originally had been. The room we stayed in was dirty and lacking in amenities such as towels and soap. They are extremely behind on offering items such as non-allergen soaps. There were dead bugs all over the floor. The crank on the window was broken off. We received a lot of "I don't knows" from the staff. When I arrived home, I did check my credit card activity. At that point after asking them on the first night and on the last day, if any money was owed and told repeatedly that it was not, since they had made the mistake, I found they had charged us more - even though it was unauthorized. I called and have been told the last charge would be reversed. But we will see what happens. This is not a trust worthy or reliable place to visit. Watch out.

It smelled musty for only the first couple of seconds upon entering--then it was all good. The bedding was perfect; I wanted to take it home with me. The main floor was either preserved or restored with great care. The best thing may have been breakfast. The innkeeper was very accommodating of my vegetarianism; she asked follow-up questions to make sure I would happily eat my fill. Yogurt and grape nuts in shot glasses! Oreo pancakes! Halloween candy! Plenty of coffee and tea available. Highly recommended!

I had wanted to offer…read morethem an amazing New Harmony experience, like one I had had several years ago in a different B&B that has since closed. The owners of that one recommended AC Thomas House. It is indeed a beautiful property, from the spacious veranda and lovely, historically appointed rooms to the perfect downtown New Harmony location. But upon arrival, we learned that it is up for sale. The current owners were nowhere to be found - apparently one is ill and the other is engaged in other projects now. The owners left everything in the hands of one very part-time staff person (you have to call this person if you need anything - there's no one on site). Even under these conditions, with just minimal attention, our stay could have been much improved. For example, they could have put water bottles, tissues, and soap in the rooms (all of these staples were lacking). The breakfast was a big disappointment. The staff asked us in an email what we wanted for breakfast but then did not come through for two of the three people in our party. Minimally, real half-and-half for coffee is essential for any place offering breakfast (they had bought that horrible creamer at the Dollar Store even though we had indicated in the email that we would appreciate half & half). And a box of nice black tea is another essential for a place like this that was lacking. Again, the breakfast issue can be remedied easily enough. The staff person was very nice, and was helpful to the degree possible, but perhaps isn't being given the resources or direction to do these things? Also, there was a baby shower there the day we arrived, and some of that wasn't cleaned up, leaving traces (stray napkins, cups, decorations) in the common areas for the next 24 hours. That, too, can easily be remedied. The larger issue, which hopefully the new owners (when there are some) will attend to is the plumbing. Neither the toilet nor the shower in the Duchess Kate room worked (fortunately the staff person gave us keys to the adjoining room, empty that night, or we would not have had even a working toilet). The showers in all of our rooms need to be brought up to contemporary standards. Hopefully the new owners (when there are some) can remedy these issues and bring this place back to 5 stars, which it richly deserves, but right now, sadly, it is not. Also, not having an inn keeper (or even a more permanent staff person) onsite made it feel more like an airbnb than a Bed & Breakfast. Part of the pleasure of a stay in a place like this is being able to converse with the owners (which I was able to do in the previous place I had stayed).  I'm very disappointed as I had wanted to offer my guests a special weekend. It was still great being in New Harmony, and this place has all the potential to be amazing, and aesthetically it's an absolute treasure - but right now, sadly, I cannot recommend it. The current owners need to step up their game here or stop renting rooms.

We were renting a Duplex Cabin for a family reunion weekend. The price is right and it's a pretty…read morenice cabin, however I say that with a couple caveats. The beds are horribly uncomfortable. You will feel every single spring in them. My body was really sore the next day and I am not old! I would recommend that you bring some extra blankets to try to make the bed softer because it's really hard to get to sleep and honestly almost painful. The bed was also very noisy, so if you are tossing and turning because of the extreme firmness, that will also keep you away. It's also really, really dark at night. There needs to be some exterior motion detector lights so people can see to get in the cabin. We just used our phone flash lights but you can't really even tell which cabin is yours in the dark (at first arrival) so I would advise them to at least install a motion light near the door so you can see the lock. We also had very luke warm water in the shower. I can get by with that, but others might not. We also had some wasps and a stink bug in the cabin, but that's to be expected in the woods and they do provide a fly swatter. If I was going to stay here again, I would want a different cabin due to the bed. Otherwise, it was fine.

I thought that I would catch more fish but I was wrong. For the record. I didn't know my fishing license didn't carry over from state to state lol. THE MORE TOU KNOW! Please make sure that you buy fishing license when you cross over state lines. Lol as I didn't know my Kentucky license for fishing was no good. The good thing was that the game wardens were nice enough to issue us a warning. All sowed is to buy one online while they waited. Which made it awesome. I thank them kindly for their patience and respect. We spent the whole day on the lake and it was so relaxing and fun. I know that being on a boat all day is great but no one warns you about your body adjusting to being in the boat all day. You feel like your on the boat hours after you have been off. It's like being drunk without liquor. There are plenty of fishing places to be had and they even rent you a tube if you need it. Then again they can rent you out everything. Soooooo there is that. If you don't want to go far but want to relax on a wonderful lake. This is your place. I recommend staying on a boat all day fish and relaxing and taking a swim. It's worth the trip. I rated this 5 stars not because it is perfect (the décor was dated and the toilets and showers were small) but because it fully met my expectations given the price (only $130/night for the large Captain's room and high-quality breakfast for 2) and the age of the building (the house is over 100 years-old). I'd happily pay 20% more if they opted to refresh the décor (e.g., wallpaper, improved baths). We will return either way

We were told it was about to be replaced--definitely needed! It sound like other rooms were more updated on beds. We loved the house and owners and would love to return.

The cabins are very comfortable and up to date with satellite tv service, comfortable beds, relaxing sitting area with overstuffed furniture and a fireplace. However, the best thing my wife likes is the hot tub! There's nothing like a hot soak to loosen you up after spending a day running all over the place with our son. One of the best perks you get is you can request fresh eggs to be delivered to your cabin porch which you can make for breakfast in the fully equipped kitchen. HIGHLY recommend this place!
