Holiday Inn Express Princeton

Holiday Inn Express Princeton

When I see the name Holiday Inn, I usually expect a certain level of class, elegance, and comfort…read more The first thing I noticed upon arriving was about 5-6 men all hanging out in the front smoking cigarettes, and at least one of them smoking a joint, despite the "No Smoking within 8 feet" sign on the door (which was propped open). As I myself have no particular issue with either of these things, I did not want to have my wife and 7 month old daughter subjected to this. After checking in (the staff at the desk was very friendly and helpful), we loaded our belongings on the luggage cart. The Luggage cart was narrow in the front, and extremely wide in the back, making it difficult to maneuver in and out of the elevator and doorways. Once we got to our room, we were surprised with the size of the bedroom. For having to pay $275 for two nights, the room was exceptionally small. The walls must be paper-thin, as we could hear everything the person in the next room was doing. There were no bags in any of the trash cans. There were no laundry bags in any of the closets, either. We had to kill at least 5 stink bugs that we found crawling around the bedroom. You can tell that the room must have been recently renovated, as there were holes in the wall and ceiling. The air conditioner was extremely noisy, and made loud rattling noises while it was running, and loud banging noises every time it turned on or off. The bathtub had gross stains and calcium build-up by the drain. I do want to note that the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The television was a nice size, and it was convenient to have Netflix access as well. The coffee area, mini fridge, and sink area were nice as well. Although I did not have the chance to use these amenities, I did investigate the pool and workout area, and they looked clean and would have been nice to use if I had the time. For a complimentary breakfast, I would label it as fair. The pancake machine was broken down both days we were there. It would appear that the kitchen staff bring things out maybe once or twice, as they had run out of gravy 2 hours before breakfast was over, and staff said the kitchen crew was gone for the day. The best thing about the breakfast was the hot pastries and juice machine. All in all, if I had to return to Princeton, I would probably take a look at the Hampton Inn before I came back here. This did not live up to my expectations of a Holiday Inn. For the price you pay to stay here, you would be better off to find a hotel in Evansville and travel the 30 minutes.

They need to change their policy especially for 18 year olds serving their country trying to book a room to avoid driving long distance through a storm. There are a lot of responsible 18 year olds and it doesn't make sense that some holiday inns accept 18 and up and some do not. Again spreading awareness, PLEASE don't book this location until they change their policy! Thank you.

I've never stayed in such a small "suite" ever at a holiday inn express. The bathroom was tiny and toilet was in a tiny nook by the shower. Sink was in the hallway next to the door. Awful terrible set up! The microwave wouldn't warm food and had a burnt smell throughout the room from trying to use it. There were only two towels left for swimming in the pool area. I had to ask the lady at the front desk to find more. She gave us bath towels and asked when we were finished swimming to turn out the lights. We always stay at holiday inn, but i will be looking elsewhere next time traveling! This hotel needs a serious overhaul of updating!

Exceptionally Well Run and Modern Marriot Property…read more The TownePlace Suites in Owensboro is one of my top choices of places to stay when I'm in the Owensboro area. I have found over the years that the hotels close to the river are always way overpriced at certain times of the year so if you are willing to stay a little off the beaten path then give this hotel a shot. The hotel is located right off the highway and no more than ten to fifteen minutes from most of the major attractions in Owensboro. This hotel has all the amenities you need for a one or multiple-night stay. The staff are professional and this hotel is very well run by management and staff. My room was clean, and spacious and had everything I needed for two nights. The hotel has an excellent fitness center, indoor lounge areas, outdoor lounge areas and a very busy pool, Breakfast includes a variety of hot and cold choices, pastries, bread and cereals, fresh fruit and above-average coffee. The rooms have full fridges and useable kitchenettes, and depending on the size of the room you may have a bigger kitchen area. The room has many electrical outlets and USB charging stations for all of your devices. If you have USB-C then bring your charging blocks. The AC and heating units in your room work very well and are not that noisy. Wifi is easy to connect to and if you are a Bonvoy member you get the upgraded wifi at no additional charge, Lastly, this hotel has digital keys so you can skip the line up when you check in and they automatically send you your bill when you check out. Overall an affordable, well-run Marriot property and my number one place to stay when I'm in the area.

We ate a huge dinner at the Gasthof, drove ten minutes to our room and took a nap. You might do the same. The family who run this motel are friendly. Many of the folks who stay here are traveling workers. They were quiet and respectful, go to bed early and leave for early shifts. We smelled some delicious BBQ someone was making on an outdoor grill. The fridge in our room is unusually large for in a motel. Make sure to plug it in if you stay here. The A/C works great.

The first lovely surprise was that I'd forgotten about the time change, so it seemed we were even later than expected. The kind owner called to ask if we were ok. He probably wanted to get some sleep, but he only showed kind concern. The second lovely surprise was all the rooms are nonsmoking, and our room was beautiful. The outside isn't as fancy as the inside. It's the inside that matters to me. The third surprise was the powerful hot shower to unwind. The 4th was the powerful A/C that cooled the room in minutes. The 5th was the comfortable beds. We fell deep asleep without ever turning on cable TV or using your free WiFi. Thank you, Theroff's owners, for your warm hospitality.

Hampton never lets me down!…read more We came here after checking in a not so great hotel, and it was so different and lovely. It smelled fresh and clean, the staff was kind, and the bed was so comfty. Breakfast was good - obviously not restaurant level, but yummy. The oatmeal bar was fantastic! The rooms are the best maintained I've in town across several work trips, the front desk, attendees are polite, helpful, and courteous, and it's located right in the middle of everything. It offers a large waiting pool, hot breakfast, and clean eggs, biscuits, sausage, waffles, and all the rest, and fresh, hot coffee, and cookies at the front are a nice touch. The downsides of noticed are that the sheets and beds, well comfortable pillow tops, seem to likely be synthetic and have me feeling confusingly, sweaty even with the air conditioner turned on, and the fitness room is long overdue for some very basic maintenance: the cable machine only has one side that works because the adjustment is broken on the other, and the weight bench adjustment knob has fallen off, keeping it flat and making a lot of exercise exercises not possible. Nonetheless, the pool is quite nice and large, and two treadmills, and elliptical, and a peloton spin bike are available.
