Was it going to be the Japanese pancake with karage chicken or the shakshuka or the Mediterranean breakfast? I opted for the Mexican brunch featuring brisket, scrambled egg, and corn tortillas. MOB "My Other Brother Cafe"…read more First time here and I wasn't let down. I'm giving 5 stars for a couple of reasons. The first being the wait staff was fast, sweet, and in gauging. It's not a large place but they had no problem seating 5 on the spot. Second reason was the food presentation. Great plating on simple dishes always makes me smile. Makes me think the cooks are happy and that makes me happy. If you can't make a sandwich look good on a plate then you shouldn't be in the kitchen. The last reason was the food it self. Simple dishes with great flavour. I loved the use of beet powder on the eggs benny, it had great colour and flavour. I was stoked that my burger came on a milk bun, I'm so over brioche and pretzel buns. The sauce on my burger was the best thousand island I've ever had. Sweet and tangy, salty and bitey! Added depth and dimension to a classic burger. Maybe it was the combo of the bbq glaze and the thousand island. Not sure what they did to it but it really made my burger taste more complex. I think maybe they just cared. The sign of a good chef is the quality of their sauces. Maybe Escoffier said that, but don't quote me. Even if the sauces where not made in house my mouth thanks you. I can only speak for the food that I ate, but the rest of the food at my table looked amazing. I will be back to try more dishes. This will definitely be my swap meet cafe stop when I shop at the Camberwell Market. 5 seats 5 friends 5 bloody Mary's 5 dishes 5 stars Thank you MOB cafe !

Almost everything on their menu is a winner, and with daily specials you really get more than what you would otherwise expect from a cafe in a small strip like this. Service is young and friendly, lovely girls on the coffee machine. I popped in recently and saw their new updated menu, I am itching to find time for my next lunch here. Love it.

As such, I ended up going elsewhere.

This place is hands down my favourite place for breakfast in Melbourne. Coffee is delicious, served at perfect temperature and they have bonsoy. We both ordered the big brekky $18.50 and everything was generous and cooked to perfection.. Perfect poached free-range eggs.. Mushrooms, pork sausage, potato rosti, 3 rashes of bacon, tomato relish and sourdough toast. We were both very happy and full after our selection but watching them bring out everyone else's plates was so tempting. Service was on point and you weren't squished into a seat or rushed with your meal despite the endless stream of people in and out. We were house hunting today and thought we'd try and found a local cafe and boy are we glad we stumbled upon Lolo & Wren! Will we be back?? Most definitely!!!

Lots of seating available both inside and outside.  Lots of free street parking (but 1P which is never sufficient when it comes to cafes).  I found the menu quite different as it had two types of burgers, a croque-monsieur, a lamb shoulder moroccan salad, chia pudding, some interesting pancakes, and a chickpea dish. None of these dishes had eggs in them. On the very left hand side, they had eggs on toast, the big breakfast, and smashed avo toast.  My friend and I decided to get the lamb shoulder moroccan salad which was shredded tender lamb (looked like pulled lamb, very fine and long strands), dotted with pomegranate seeds and submerged in sheep's yoghurt. It was nice but felt like it needed to be eaten with some bread, or pita bread. It seemed more of a side dish rather than breakfast/lunch or main dish so quite disappointing.  The roast chicken burger with 4 thin slices of chorizo, some jalapenos and some mayo was slightly larger than a slider and quite bland. I only liked the brioche bun but the filling was ok. My friend who was starving didn't eat all of her food.  The coffee was very weak and my friend did not like her white hot chocolate.  Service was ok. Split bills taken. They do ubereats for most of their menu items (brunch on ubereats - wow). Average food.

We were greeted warmly and had a table right away. First thing first. I love Affogato so the one served here was awesome! The added touch of espresso beans was great! (Gimme dat caffeine!) Daughter just wanted the basket of hashbrowns which promptly disappeared so I reckon she enjoyed that. Partner had the chicken wrap. He enjoyed that. OJ nice and fresh. I have been to this cafe twice now and to be honest am not very impressed…read more First time was a few months ago. I asked for the Eggs Benedict with a side of mushrooms. It came out and the mushrooms were dry and inedible, could not even eat one of them, they had obviously been sitting out for a while. I went again last week (heat wave week). They had aircon on but i suspect it was just on 'fan' with the front door open (on a 44 degree day!) so place was not very comfortable. We arrived at noon on a weekday and expected the place to be busy with a lunch rush but it was pretty quiet. I asked for Eggs Benedict again (menu had no time limit for breakfast and I am sure I had it around noon last time). They said they were not making breakfasts at that time.. (again - no note on the menu about time limit). I ordered the Open Faced Lamb Kebab instead - while my friend ordered a salad. Our meals came out and the Lamb Kebab looked amazing. The lamb was tender and freshly cooked - the highlight of the dish (see pic). Chips were OK, dips were nice and in-house made I believe. Props for good quality meat being used. My friend liked his bean salad however he did not finish it so not sure if that is a good sign.. But what really irked me (apart from the sweltering place) was the music. The owners are obviously passionate about old 70s / 80s / obscure music and had it playing very loud while we were there. It was just simply too loud. One song had a whilstle bit that echoed through the entire shop and hurt my ears. The songs were so cringe-worthy that I could imagine wanting to commit suicide to them. WHY. Why make your patrons listen to it? I could see that the european owners treated it like their own home kitchen with many regulars (other older europeans) there however there were not many general patrons and I think this turns business away. Really not my cup of tea with that music... good kebab and my friend liked their coffee but the noise, ambience and comfort value is off the mark
