This place is set in The Meeting of the Waters, a spot which is very pretty and the location for a famous poem (though I didn't know it - you can find it on a big plaque by the actual meeting of the waters though). The Old Coach House is not quite as old and traditionally Irish as I might have liked - for one thing the hosts are very nice but they're not locals. It has been nicely done out. Our room was a bit small, but it was clean and everything was good quality, so it was still a pleasant place to be. There's a good roaring fire to enjoy downstairs. It's easy to get out for good walks from here, the hosts were very helpful telling us about good trails to find, including the mines. Just down the road is Avoca, known to many of us as Ballykissangel. read more
