After tasting a rancid drink of Tomato juice where I could tell it was definitely off and tasted acidic and was bubbling (working). Manager refused to accept it was off. Oddly enough wouldn't try it though. Refused to refund. I have used this restaurant regularly on Sundays prior but I will think again about the future. He just smirked showing his total disinterest.. I think they thought I was just a passing through customer and would not be seen again - how wrong. Overall the food was good and the waiting staff were brilliant. Shame that the manager was less helpful therefore letting the team down. I have made a complaint and will see if they reply. Update: Visited today 24/8. Spoke to a professional supervisor, she listened, understand my complaint, apologised and rectified the situation. So much better than my first interaction with management. Thank you.

Loxley's is an outstanding restaurant in the heart of Stratford on Avon…read more They specialize in European modern cuisine. Our party of six was easily accommodated in their upstairs dining rooms on a Thursday evening around 8:00pm. We made a reservation on open table earlier in the day. Our server was Meghan who was cheerfully warm, welcoming and quite knowledgeable about the menu. Meghan made excellent menu suggestions. Loxley's also has a gluten free and a dairy free version of their current menu so special orders are simple. We started out with a charcuterie sampler that was full of delectable treats. I enjoyed the mushroom risotto and added some tiger prawns. Others in our party enjoyed the pork belly, duck and cod dishes. All delicious and artfully prepared. Of course Loxley's has a wide assortment of beers, wines and cocktails to enjoy with your dinner. If you are looking for less touristy fine dining in Stratford on Avon you will find it here. Double highly recommend.

We had high expectations given the reviews, but were disappointed. The room and patio were not very…read morecomfortable- but the worst of it was the way we were treated. They were just not very gracious about seating us or making us feel welcome. We were walk-ins and felt like second class citizens from the moment we arrived. They offered us a table in the back we didn't like and requested a specific table in the front room but we're told it was "taken" (but remained empty the whole time we were there). They finally moved us to the empty patio but said "we need this table back in one hour." The server was unable to offer any suggestions, instead saying "everything is good." As for the food, my wife had oysters which were fantastic. I had the burger, which was a pile of meat of every kind on a soggy bun. They simply tried too hard with a burger. When I asked to have the sauce on the side, they said that I could have it "on or off" but not in the side. They'd bring me ketchup and mustard on the side. Strange rule... Ultimately, we probably didn't try enough of their food to make an overall comment that n food quality, but in terms of service, they have a long, long way to go even if their food is spectacular.

We weren't sure what to expect when we rolled up to the Croft on a sunny spring afternoon…read more Initially I'd been meaning to wait to eat until we hit Stow-on-the-Wold, but hunger struck just outside of Bourton and Yelp pointed me in the Croft's direction. I didn't have high expectations for a small hotel restaurant on the main drag of a tourist town, but the Croft pleasantly surprised me by holding its own. The inside is clean and fairly modern, and as it is a sit-down restaurant there was table service. Our order was taken quickly and food arrived promptly. I had the fish & chips, a solid British pub standby, and was served a generous portion of breaded crispy fish alongside a bucket of thick, piping hot chips. My friend ordered the burger and raved about its freshly baked bun. Local ale and cider was on the menu and I tried a bottle of Cotswolds Gold, which was a nice, mellow beer. We had a very pleasant, unhurried lunch of tasty food and hyper-local drink, right in the heart of Bourton. The Croft may be in prime tourist territory, but it's not resting on its laurels.

The shop has a good selection of quality seafood and the usual fat filled fried unhealthy food! What sets this chippy apart from the rest however is the fish, especially the plaice. The fish is really the best ever, the taste is great, and batter light and non-greasy. Located in the heart of Banbury town centre in a pedestrainised area, but also by a road running straight out of Banbury, 'Banbury Fish Bar' is easy to get to and from. The shop also runs a take-away service, though I admit we have never tried this. However I expect the warm service and quality seafood is replicated here also.
