0 stars: Stay away from here. Had my teenager take in a vehicle for an oil change only. I had…read morealready taken time to explain that they will try to upsell everything and to only request the oil change. He did this, then they went ahead and did other services like front and rear differentials not requested and showed him a $1000 invoice. WTH. then then said oh we can get that to $700. WTH. Not knowing what to do he unfortunatley paid and left. I expect this type of company to be shady to begin with their upsells and pressure tactics, but when we do not ask for anything more than an oil change - It basically is a scam. I went back to question the manager on this - and his response completely unacceptable - basically saying that even though we only asked for an oil change - that they had do other items and that they had let my son know - very incorrect, and very unprofessional. I asked where did he sign off for all this extra work, as when I have used other oil change locations they get my signature - their response oh it was verbal. Never again. Very shady company. After searching this company up now - similar complaints are found everywhere.

way way way too much upselling. I 100% get the drive to upsell. But after 2,3,4,5,6 and yes 7…read morerefusals it is too much. and then MORE upselling after the service. I get the economy is tough but really, management, (I assume it must be because no normal human without prior instructions would do this) your returns on upselling drastically reduce after the 1st or 2nd upsell, like this is actually backed by science continue this and you'll drive customers away. your mechanics are wonderful kind people. please stop making them upsell like this. or provide better training so that they can be effective at actually getting a good return for you. Again, if it wasn't clear this seems to be on management.

The kids who work there are always so pushy and never listen until they make me mad enough to yell at them. I really hate to lose my temper as they clearly wish to make me since I come from a background where you never argue with the customer regardless of your opinion of them or their wishes or complaints. This is very unprofessional and I blame both company policy and the management since it's obvious they have a paycheck bonus in place for associates who convince customers to spend more than they need to. Edit: My apologies for not putting this in originally but one example of what had occurred is one time when I went in I specifically stated I only wanted an oil change. The kid servicing my car approached me no less than a half dozen times trying to convince me of services I know I didn't need. For instance he tried to convince me of an engine cleaner which is recommended for cars with high mileage. However my car at the time had around 30 000 km on it, clearly I did not need the engine cleaner and the kid knew that I didn't yet tried to push it on me anyway.

Best of all they didn't pressure me, they asked if i wanted them to do something else while i was getting my oil changed and when i said no thanks that was the end of it. very comfortable, friendly atmosphere, i will definitely use them again

Thanks to Big Al's for bringing honest and trustworthy mechanics to the province. There has been a…read morelot of stress lately with several dealerships charging us for diagnostics, etc., but still having never-ending issues. I guess that's how dealerships work? I brought my XJ to them and thought the issue was the radiator fan, relay, or wiring because it's not spinning. I'm wondering how come Jaguar Calgary missed it during their inspection, since they had the vehicle for two weeks? Jayson and Damien did the impossible things that huge companies can't do. When I asked about my bill for the work done, I was shocked that it was reasonable and lower than what most dealerships normally charge me. Thanks to the owner of Big Al's for bringing us such an honest mechanic or auto repair shop. This will be our new shop for our vehicles from now on. We highly recommend Big Al's.

My car sat at that shop for 3 months after they damaged the Holley Sniper. I asked for the inline…read morefuel pump to be replaced and to redo the intake manifold because it leaked. I said put a 60psi inline pump on to replace the 60psi pump that was damaged. They put a 120psi pump on, which damaged the injectors by over pressuring the system. Then after that, a 100psi pump, because they didn't learn their lesson the first time. They claimed they had a mechanic that knew all about these TBI systems. He doesn't. At all. Anyway, they finally agreed to replace it. Three months later after much going back and forth, I finally got it back. Just a complete mess. The settings for the Sniper were largely incorrect. I was only getting fuel across the blades in 2 of 4 barrels. I returned the car and it sat for a week before I went back and got it, and they did nothing. I fixed that myself in 10 seconds. The fans, not connected to the Sniper, were set up in the settings as if they were. The IAC was not set up. The throttle/kickdown cables were loose as they didn't tighten the bracket. I fixed the issues myself in less than an hour. I still have more to check in the settings, as I'm sure I'm not done yet. They blew up the starter (which was new). They broke the sun visor off. They chipped and scratched the paint. They killed the battery (which was also new). And then to top it all off, their smooth brained secretary, Jason, loudly called me a crook in front of another customer and said I conned them into getting a new Sniper. This from a guy who told me the Holley was seeing my 350 as a 4 cylinder and that's why I wasn't getting fuel in all the barrels. They weren't supposed to touch the Sniper. If they had just put a 60psi pump on like I asked for, none of this would have happened. I spent $2500 in that shop, and I seriously regret it. This is not the full story, I could add to it. AVOID THIS BUSINESS. You have been warned.
