But for my last 4 visits I've been ordering food before live music events or when my organization selected it to support the establishment. Today we (12 of us) went for late lunch and it was the worst experience I ever had. As a rule, I never openly complain about any shortcomings that an establishment may have but this had to be mentioned. #1- I already knew about the extremely slow service when food is ordered. So I intentionally ordered an item off the menu that normally wouldn't take long...a cheeseburger and fries. After the two waitstaff had a brief disagreement over who would be taking our orders, they got settled. This is where the "fun" began. :40 minutes after I placed my order, I asked the server "how much longer for my cheeseburger?", she immediately took offense by responding in an tone that seemed she was irritated, "your food is on the way...". I responded "but it's only a cheeseburger and it's been forty minutes ". She left and came back about ten minutes later with the lemonade I ordered...almost forty five minutes earlier. Then my plate was finally brought out. #2-Returning to when I first arrived, I usually order the Catfish plate, but I noticed that the prices across the entire menu had risen. Not a problem but when I saw the Catfish dinner had in parentheses "Swai" indicating that this was NOT what we customers know as real catfish, but a lower quality/cheap substitute for the normal Catfish. But the price reflected the more expensive Catfish. I researched there at the table that establishments cannot rename and market Swai as catfish...hence the name in parens after Catfish is initially presented on the menu. At this point, while my party and I were discussing the disparity and slow service a lady came to our table; and introduced herself as the marketing consultant. She listened and said she would get the owner to come discuss it with me, I declined saying that I didn't want to have that conversation during our social get together but I'd be happy to return at an appropriate time. Now the real problems began. For at least four of our group, for every item ordered the response from the server was, "we're out of that...", "we don't have any...", it was embarrassing. I suggested that she just tell us what you DO have and then order. Had to ask for silverware; three of the party had to have their orders returned because they were cold; dining in orders were changed to carry out due to the wait times. I'll just suggest to the owner/manager on top of all of the other issues that your staff shared about the problems during our visit, remind them that we as customers don't need to know that people called off; you have a person that's new in the kitchen; the server is forgetting to do drink refills; and to the owner/manager, stick to what's sustained you all these years...the live music and reduce your menu so you won't have to deal with telling customers that you ran out of food or can't complete a menu item. As for me, I will continue to make this my destination for great music but I won't be ordering anything from the menu.
