They have an incredible…read moreselection of crystals, books, jewelry... the owner and another woman were working while I was there and they were very helpful when I had questions but they also gave me space to browse- they have such a huge inventory I was there for a while just looking at everything. They were very knowledgeable which was lovely. I have just recently been tapping into my spirituality more and felt very welcome here. I ended up buying a few crystals and bracelets- on the shelves by most items they had small slips of paper explaining what each item was and its significance- I thought that was really nice and you can take the papers home with you. I thought the pricing was very fair and those working were very kind to me. I loved the energy in this place and I am so excited to keep learning and go back soon!

It's slightly scary when someone you've known for only a little while says "I know a place you'll…read moreabsolutely love" but won't tell you what it is. Also with a name like Diving Cat Studio what the store is is a bit oblique...is it a pet store? A gallery? OK, go with it. Yeah, they were spot-on. Diving Cat is a seriously eclectic, funky, new-age-y, hippie store with lots of cool jewelry, home items, art, candles, soaps, perfumes, statues, even mobiles and prisms. The store does a very good job grouping items by category - Namaste and Yoga in one area, Judacia in another, items related to cats, items related to dogs, mystical items, etc. Yeah, just my kind of place. The store has a good deal of inventory and it's not very large, but it's not uncomfortable unless it's very crowded. They even have "Honey" seats outside for partners who are waiting for the other to finish oohing and aahing. Staff were nice, unobtrusive but helpful when needed. I got some very delicious smelling perfume in a steampunk - cool flask and a badass name (OK badass for a mid-life Main Line Mom). It's in 'downtown' Phoenixville, on the same block as the Colonial Theater. Parking is street and tight, better to find a lot just off the 'main drag' and walk. You know, like in most downtown places.

Collectibles, unusual clothing, boss looking t shirts, tarot cards, jewelry and many other things. I found a gorgeous navy blue dress that I LOVE! While we were there she did have to step in and put some misbehaving kids in line. A shame that parents don't handle that on their own, but as a business owner you have to protect your merchandise. I see nothing wrong with what I witnessed. Parents don't do their jobs, then store owners must step in. I would love to visit Ellie's shop more. If you go during the week you might luck out with free two hour parking in the afternoon. She mentioned there is parking lot close to the store for 25 cents an hour. Unfortunately due to the parking issues I avoid Phoenixville the majority of the time. Too bad because there are some stores and restaurants I enjoy.

I wanted sconces that would hold taper candles, not the electric sort that leave you having to hide the trailing cord. So I decide to run to Sweet Magnolia to replace a candle that had recently burnt out completely when, lo and behold!, there is the most gorgeous pair of gold-leafed wall sconces hanging right before my eyes! This is why I love Sweet Magnolia - you can find such elegant pieces here when you least expect it. I also appreciate that their prices don't put a huge dent in your wallet. $58 for the pair? I'll take them! The store also carries the greatest soy candles ever by Aquiesse which last a rather long time and come in several delightful fragrances. They also carry an array of other home goods - Forte teas, place settings, bath and body products, stationery, baby gifts, and jewelry. Definitely a great little shop for finding last minute gifts or a treat for yourself. I've seen similar items at other stores like Anthropologie for twice the price, so why not patronize a local entrepreneur instead?
