We were able to snag our tickets from Groupon and got the Gondola Ride package. If you're getting your tickets from Groupon, I recommend that package deal. The staff was friendly and directed us to where we needed to go, and they also helped take some of our pictures. Many of the wax figures look realistic (which was a bit scary up close lol), but it was still fun. I liked that the staff allows you to get as close as you want to the figures to take pictures and really observe the art pieces. We also learned from the staff that the sculptures are built to the same height as the celebrities, which was cool because we got to get a glimpse of different celebrities' heights and guess what we thought they would be versus what they actually were when we stood next to them. This was a fun game we played as we went around. I liked that every section had its own theme and music, like actors, '90s artists, 2010s, etc. As you get closer to the end of the museum, there's a Marvel section with a 4D theater. The movie is free and about 10 minutes long. It was a cool animated experience with 4D elements, if you have time, I recommend checking it out. After we finished going through the museum, we went on the Gondola Ride, which is based on the gondola rides in Venice. Such a peaceful moment, you really feel as if you're in Venice. Our gondolier was very nice and had an amazing voice. I liked how he gave us the history of why a version of the gondola ride was made in Vegas and the meaning behind certain songs he sang. Overall, I had a great experience, and I would go back again!

We purchased the basic tickets and spent about 40 minutes walking through talking, laughing, taking photos, etc... It was a really fun activity. Some of our favorites were the Rock, Stevie Wonder, Lady Gaga, Drake, Justin Bieber, Bad Bunny, Snoop Dog, Bradley Cooper, Mike Tyson, Muhammed Ali, and Taylor Swift. I was impressed that my daughter recognized a bunch of folks that I didn't know at first. This is a fun activity for people of all ages. Enjoy!

I know we couldn't top running a 1.5 ton excavator at Dig this, but we could find something more exciting than the strip. My husband's go to activities are museums. We have museum passes and considered going to two other museums, but hey we're both outdoors and it was getting hot out. This one was close by, reasonably priced and looked good so we called a LYFT and headed over. I looked on their website and I didn't see a cafe listed so we grabbed some snacks and headed over. On our way we inquired from our LYFT driver if there was anywhere to eat near by and he informed us that the mall was across the street. As we entered the compound we noted a sign for a cafe on the entrance gate. We were dropped off infront of the museum. Walked down the pathway and made our way to the ticket booth. We were informed that with our admission we could enter both museums. After paying for our admission we headed left to the Nevada State Museum. It was a short walk to the entrance up the stairs. The elevator stated it was out of order, but there was a ramp. We didn't see the ramp so we hoofed it up the stairs. On the outside of the building they offered a Showgirls exhibit. Now that's my the of exhibit. I tried to make a B-line to that exhibit, but it was all the way in the back. We had to go through all the other exhibits first. There was lots of taxidermy animals. Way too much for my liking.The small ones such as the mice didn't look good or cute. The big ones looked better. We eventually got to the Show girl exhibit. It was very informative. It talked about the clubs and the issue with segregation. The people putting on the shows couldn't stay in the hotels they were performing at. The first racially integrated Casino hotel in Las Vegas was the Moulin Rouge Hotel. The exhibit gave much more information and I really enjoyed the exhibit. They also had a photography exhibit that caught my attention. All photographs were taken in Nevada. There were some really good pictures. After we went though the exhibits it was time for lunch. We looked for the cafe, but couldn't find it and there was no one at the information desk. So, we headed back out to the main gate to inquire. They informed us that it was behind the ticket boot. With no sighs we had a tough time finding it and had to ask the maintenance guy where it was and he pointed to the elevator. We were so happy that they had a cafe as it enabled us to say longer in the compound. After lunch we visited the Origen Museum at the other end of the compound. If not we would have had to head out and missed the Origen Museum which was my favorite of the two.

They have a very well-curated museum with century homes throughout the property, including the old print shop, railway depot, a conductor's house, a church and more. Beautiful grounds. Keep your hands and feet to yourself as you walk the path. It's starts with the breath of the old west. What did a young Las Vegas and Boulder City actually look like. Most of the history here are actual. Some are replicated by certain types of groups to aid in keeping the history alive. As you move on you can actually walk through the exhibits. The history of each era is shown in houses by the "Main Street," exhibits. It's too cool ! This is the way to see a little piece of history. That old chapel was saved and has married so many individuals. Come and see our historical past in photos. The artifacts of the era are here too.

Now, it's plastic glasses but you need to ask them for it. The staff working the front was informative and very helpful, but she wasn't aware of the glasses. If they didn't give you glasses, make sure you ask for it!!! Pretty sure all the low ratings were because they didn't get the glasses. I only knew about the glasses because I done it before. The glasses enhance the experience 200%. Without glasses: Meh, it's nice but that's it? With glasses: THIS IS SO COOL!!! WOW!

We have both been to Las Vegas many times, and we hadn't ever visited the Mob Museum. So we decided to visit this time. We enjoyed the experience overall and would certainly recommend it to others. When we arrived, we paid for parking and went inside to pay for the Mob Museum experience. We were prepared to walk around and read a lot of information about the mob. We were pleased to learn when we arrived that there would be a former member of the mob speaking upstairs in just a few minutes. We quickly went upstairs and found a seat. The speaker was Frank Calabrese, Jr., who worked with the FBI to bring down his crime family in Chicago. He told us his story first-hand while telling us about his book and sharing slides as he spoke. This first-hand account was a great way to kick off our visit! After the speaker, we headed up to the third floor and started looking through exhibits and worked our way floor by floor down to the first floor and eventually to the basement. On the third floor, we learned about the birth of the mob, the start of organized crime, the founding of Las Vegas, prohibition, the St. Valentine's Day Massacre, Al Capone, the FBI fighting back, how several mob leaders were taken down due to smaller violations, and how organized crime spread. On the second floor, we learned about the Kefauver Hearings, the historic courtroom that became the Mob Museum in Las Vegas, the Mob eyeing Las Vegas, skimming from the casinos, Las Vegas going straight, the Mob infiltrating the police, and the Mob's greatest hits. On the first floor, we learned about how the FBI took down the Mob (or some of them), various stories about mob leaders, organized crime today (yes, the mob still exists!), use of force by the police, and the mob in popular culture. We also visited the Global Networks Touch Wall, the gift shop, and the Underground (speakeasy in the basement). While we didn't pay the extra fee to use them, there are interactive exhibit options for a Crime Lab, Firearm Training Simulator, and Distillery Tasting. The general admission cost is $34.95 per person to access exhibits without a discount. For an extra $15, you get access to exhibits and one interactive exhibit. For $5 more than that, you get access to exhibits and two interactive exhibits. There are discounts available to Nevada residents, students, law enforcement and military. You can also get tickets before 11 AM or after 5 PM to receive $7 off admission plus 20% off coupons on the internet. The Mob Museum is typically open daily from 9 AM to 9 PM. I had some time before dinner, saw a crowd gathering, and figured I'd stick around to see what all the attention was about. Between the talking statues, special effects, fire, water, and animatronic characters, it was a fun show! It's a free attraction that's been entertaining visitors for years! I am a…read moreyoung Gen Xer, so my interest in punk is more from the '90s: Green Day, NOFX, Social D, The Offspring, and such, so it was awesome to see the punk scene from the '70s and early '80s that I missed as a kid. Highly recommended! I have two recommendations in hopes that the staff sees this. :) 1. The museum allows children of all ages to come with their parents, including on tours. The museum's website indicates that all children must be accompanied by their parents at all times, but this isn't enforced anywhere because the staff is only visible/present at the front entrance. My tour was absolutely ruined by specific parents who had dragged along their two incredibly bored and rambunctious children. I think that they were like 3 and 6 years old? In every room that we toured, the kids were constantly talking, goofing off, playing "tag," shrieking, and overall loudly using potty humor during the poor tour guide's stories (6 year old: "That boy (pointing to a pic of one of Joey Ramone, I think?) is a poo-poo head." 3 year old sister: "No he's not, he's a pee-pee head." loud giggles). Do I believe that kids belong in public spaces? You betcha! BUT....the problem is that many parents have no common sense and drag their young children along because it's easier for them. But that means that tours are ruined due to kids being super distracting and loud and not caring about the museum. So, why doesn't the museum have designated tours that are all ages, and other specific tours that are 18+ (or at least 12+)? It would be very easy for the museum staff to decide which tours on which days/dates are adults-only tours, but I think that no one at the museum wants to take the initiative and figure this out and then enforce it? But doing so would greatly improve the quality and integrity of the tours, instead of having them ruined by parents who drag their young children (and it's so rude to the poor tour guide who's trying to talk and share stories but is loudly interrupted constantly by young children). 2. In most of the rooms, there are AMAZING photos on the walls with a number beneath or next to it with a corresponding list to let you know whom and when. However.....nearly all of the walls that have photos have the captions/guide with the corresponding number on only one side of the wall, far away from the actual photos. The museum printed out one sheet that lists like 10 photos and they indicate who the photo is of and what year and they assign each photo a number, and this guide is on one side. Why not have the individual captions directly UNDER each photo? It takes more time to print that out and cut them and glue them under each individual photo, but it seems worth it. It's hard to keep walking back and forth from the one guide all the way on the side to see each pic one by one, and having the one guide on the side isn't exactly friendly to any guests with physical disabilities who may have difficulty moving back and forth. Here is an example: Also, for some of these photos, the number is super small and either directly under a photo or on the side of the photo - it's not consistent! It's confusing and not very accessible to neurodivergent guests who may have learning disabilities. So, if you're not going to bother to make the captions more accessible to all guests by printing them out individually and gluing them directly under each individual photo, at least please be consistent with your lists! Have them ALL be vertical or in two columns left and right, but please make it predictable so that your guests with learning disabilities may be able to access the info. It's not helpful when some photos have the number under while other pics have the number on the left or the right. It's all chaotic! Ideally, each photo has the caption directly underneath.
