    Chicken Phall

My wife and I just returned from The New Jomuna. We started with an order of Dall Puri (spicy lentils with fluffy bread). We also ordered some Chicken Tikka (tender pieces of chicken or lamb lightly spiced, cooked over charcoal, served on a sizzler), plain nan, cucumber/onion raitha, coconut rice, and the fabled Chicken Phall (which is listed as "extremely hot" and came with a warning from our waiter). The Phall was as described: rectum searing hot and capable of testing the intestinal fortitude of any creature with mucus membranes. For those that like to experience hot, try this once. For those with no sense of self-worth who don't care about flavor and only relish pain, try this more than once. The Dall Puri was delicious and well seasoned. The Chicken Tikka was perfectly cooked on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. As for the coconut rice, I read a review before dining tonight that stated "[T]he coconut is flaked by angels..." I was pleasantly surprised to find that comment to be spot on! This is a MUST try dish and goes very well with the many spices and flavours present in any of their dishes. The waiters aren't very attentive, but the food and the prices make up for what this place may lack in service. I would definitely dine here again.

This is axtraditional indian restaurant. We ordered everything to go because it was rainy and the next day we were flying to reykjiavik. The curry were very good. I usually dont like curry but this one has a good japanese style flavor which is much more mellow than the indian food restaurants in Jacksonville. The nan was made in house and i loved it. Rice was plentiful and was more than enough for the five of us. We bought two types of curry and the hot curry was not spicy enough to bother my tongue. Whenever in london its a good place to get food

They have done an impressive job on the remodel updating it with a bright and clean interior tastefully decorated and well equipped. Two large screen TV's play Bollywood music videos and sporting events. When you enter there is a small kebab shop and takeaway, and you enter through the second set of doors to the dining room. The food is amazing! A dazzling array of choices and some special items. We ordered Karahi Fish, Karahi Methi Gosht, Tarka Daal and a whole tandoori chicken. This was more than enough food for four and we were all very happy to try so many tasty items. First the fish was perfectly prepared and delicately spiced. It had a great texture and wasn't "swimming" in sauce. The lamb curry was ordered spicy and the chef actually came to ask us how spicy we actually wanted it, so we explained EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA hot.. he laughed and asked if we were sure and we said we were. He delivered! It was a spicy inferno without being overpowering. The daal was very nice but the highlight was the Tandoori chicken.. it was the most flavorful one we had tried in a long time and came out perfectly moist and juicy and oozing with flavour, and at 7 quid it was quite a deal as well. We also noted on the menu the chefs special.. a WHOLE LEG OF LAMB! We vowed a night of hedonism and drinking accompanied by a lamb feast. We followed through the following week and we were rewarded for our determination with a stunning piece of culinary magic. The leg of lamb was so tender and flavourful that we decided to make it a monthly ritual.. but be forewarned you have to order it 24 hours in advance.. so think ahead! The Lahore Masala House is a welcome addition to the Kentish Town landscape.. they have great lunch deals and they also stay up late for those leaving the locals or the Forum.
