We stayed 05/2017 for 5 nights with the all-inclusive option. Overall, it's a good place to stay; we had one fairly MAJOR let-down (I'll explain at the end of the positive review).
- Great location: near lots of little shops & restaurants; near several great clubs; right on the edge of Playa d'en Bossa so you get the party vibe, but not the $250/night costs of other hotels in that area.
- All-inclusive: Food was better than expected especially with just 1 restaurant. The drinks included in the all-inclusive option were very basic; you can pay (per drink) for fancier drinks at a different bar by the pool. Snacks provided were decent, but not made to order; it was a display box they kept stocked with pastries & sandwiches, which was sufficient for our needs.
- Decor: Decor was pretty basic. I've seen other reviews complain about not having enough pictures on the walls, etc. But I liked it that way. Everything has a clean, modern look. The scenery outside is gorgeous and the lobby has big windows as walls so you can see out to the beach/ocean from anywhere in the lobby. The rooms are also basic, but again it has a clean/modern look and all the rooms have a view of the beach.
- Activities/entertainment: they had live music & dancers around the pool in the afternoons. There is also table tennis. We saw them setting up for shows inside on small stage in the lobby a few times, but we were usually on the go and never stayed to watch any of them.
- Early check-in: I'd verified in advance with the hotel that we could check-in early if our room was open when we arrived. We arrived super early, at 6:30am. Our room was empty & ready, but they couldn't check us in until 8am (when their day shift technically started). They did check our luggage while we waited & we walked the beach, watched the sunrise, & grabbed breakfast (which consisted of pizza & Corona from a little stand that was preparing to close after their long Ibizian night). At 8am, we checked in without any problems; although, the didn't issue our all-inclusive wrist bands until later (which is understandable & was not a problem).
- Sound/noise: The hotel was overall quiet and calm. However, the walls are paper thin and you could hear (very clearly) anything above an inside, talking voice from the adjacent rooms.
Now the negative...
My BF fell asleep in the hotel lobby the first afternoon. His phone was laying in his lap (as we had a picture taken by a friend). As we came back up to get him, at most 5 minutes from the time the picture was taken, a security guard was speaking to him and ushering him on the elevator to go to our room. That evening, we realized he didn't have his phone. The next day, we thoroughly checked under every couch near where he was laying & even between the cushions of the couches. There was no phone. Later, we realized we had the picture with his phone on his lap so we showed it to the staff at the front desk & asked about video cameras in the lobby. They neither denied nor confirmed having cameras (even though there are signs in the lobby about having them). We were told they would contact the police because the police were the only ones who could go through the video footage (IF they had video cameras) and that they would notify us of what the police determined. On our last full day, we'd not heard anything so we asked the staff at the desk. They immediately presented an envelope with the phone & a note saying it was found "under the couch." We have high suspicion that the security guard or another staff member took it and we have reasons for thinking that... 1) We THOROUGHLY searched under and around all the couches in the areas. The gap between the couch & the floor is high and it would've easily been seen (plus we even moved &/or picked up some of the couches to check)... 2) The phone case had been removed... 3) The SIM & the memory cards had been removed.... 4) They didn't tell us about it; we had to ask them again. And we wondered if they would've even notified us it had been found if we hadn't checked again. We didn't say anything while we were there because we didn't want to cause issues for ourselves, but I assure you that it was NOT under the couches and the case & cards did NOT magically disappear from it. And it's not likely that someone took it, removed those items, then dropped it back under the couch (especially since the value of the phone was higher than all of the items removed from it). Our best theory is that it was a hotel staff member and the hotel did not want us to press charges or blame them for it. Honestly, if they'd told us the truth, we would've been FINE because we know that some people are simply dishonest and the hotel isn't responsible for an individual's actions. But because of their secrecy & poor handling of the situation, I have a negative view of the moral compass of the hotel management, which is far worse than thinking that just one employee was dishonest. read more
