Awful organization. The doctors here cancel your appointment when they feel like they need to. If they need you to reschedule its out months from when they canceled it. If you have neuro issues i suggest taking your business else where they do not put their patients first. They are understaffed but continue to accept new patients. i reccomend they should stop accepting new patients and I recommend you to not go here unless you want to get seen two years from now. read more

I was seen by Dr. Kevin McGehrin. He spoke to me in a very condescending way. It was almost as if he was doing me a favor by being there. He had absolutely no bedside manner, and I just felt so badly I could hardly articulate what was wrong with me. He was very cold and I left almost in tears. They call us the DAY OF the appointment to let us know the EEG machine is broken, and offered an appointment 1 month and a half away from TODAY. The manager whose name goes by "Lorena", they could not enclose her last name without her permission, but the first name is more than enough; I asked for a San Marcos location appointment (which is two hours away from us), for the "manager" to tell ME, they won't have anyone to do an EEG in this location. You can't send a tech? Let me just say, I have NEVER IN MY 29 YEARS OF LIVING, have spoken to someone as UNPROFESSIONAL AS HER! Hung up the phone right in my face due to my "frustration" but was so eager to remind me she "understands my frustration" while still reminding me they have NOTHING available, don't know when the EEG machine will be fixed, basically no information, and there is nothing they can do. Lorena gives a very bad look to the Chula Vista location. Our first appointment, we were late by 15 min; they have a 10 min grace period. Understood. They expect for the patient to understand a broken EEG machine? But couldn't understand the fact that it was a rainy day when we were 15 min late, driving 1 hour, just to drive one hour back? So we HAD to reschedule with no other choice..... Only to be told a month later on the DAY OF the appointment (today) that the EEG machine is broken and they don't know when it will be fixed. Dr. Silver is a great doctor and I felt he was one of the few doctors who listened to me about my debilitating chronic pain. Front office and referrals are not good and the reason I won't return. I saw Dr. Silver in March and he referred me to a specialist. Easy to navigate parking lot, just don't park at Scripps next door, big busy building if you are in a hurry to get to your floor, make sure to use the stairs because the elevator takes forever to get thru, make sure to read the map directions, even if it said Neuron Clinic, it was actually all the way down to very end. The staffs at Neuron were very nice and helpful as long as you self check in online, the process will be smoother, Doctor Kevin also super friendly and knowledgable, he recommended all the good services for us while waiting for the insurance approval. read more

I am seen for chronic migraines. I am thankful that I see a neurologist who finally listens and offers options. The quality of care is wonderful and I feel heard. I would say the only downside would be trying to call in. It's hard to get someone on the phone without being passed around with no answers. I have a serious motor Neurological condition and was referred by an excellent emergency doctor. She thought I'd get decent care here. Instead the doctor barely looked at me and decided I was fine. When I'm on medication I'm fine, when not I can walk and in extreme pain. Dr Xing barely looked at me and said "it's not a neurological condition, see a psych doctor' which I did and frankly she was certifiably crazy but still found nothing. As a result San Ysidro took me off my meds which almost killed me (not joking - my partner was with me when I had a 4 hour seizure and turned white as paper. Called to see another provider - never any response as I guess I'm a too hard case. No interest in the patient. No empathy. Ever notice how esp these young women doctors all do some "experience in some far flung underserved country". It's so common it must be surely for their med school community volunteer requirement. But it's not due to empathy. Stay away, currently taking legal action against all involved. None of them should be practicing medicine in my opinion. read more

Providers seem to know what they doing. Middle aged lady at the front office who dyes her hair blonde has serious attitude and needs to be checked. She raised her voice at me and gave me a snarky remark when I was speaking with another front desk employee. She wasn't even part of the conversation. I always feel like when I get there they are swamped, the wait is forever. My mother has early Alzheimer's and I don't feel like anything really happens. I have no issues with the doctor as far as the care recipient's concern but with regards to the office workers here especially the front desk people, this is what I have noticed: There's is absolutely more chit chat heard rather than a patient being taken cared. Customer service trainings needed to lessen the front desk person's misdemeanor. The clinic may be a busy place but it's not a reason to not properly accommodate patient needs and concern. Each patient has individual needs that as a healthcare personnel you need to assess and meet halfway. I don't have to say more. read more

The front desk is horrible. They keep canceling and rescheduling my appointments and then cancel me, a few day after they rescheduled me. Then when I got a new refferal to see a different neurologist because I been having other severe symptoms ( I have occipital neurolgia, and those who know, know), they said that theu are not accepting new refferals with the new neurologist, in spite getting an approval letter from my insurance. So, I told them I have two insurance, which one is PPO, they said that they do accept the insurance. And to my surprise, they said no again. So guess what? I told them why are they reffusing to give me services if I had an old insurance that they first accepted and that I also still have and then with the PPO insurance they said that they did accepted but then not anymore? Needless to say, they also had the nerve to ask why I wanted to see a different neurologist, when it is none of their business to ask me why. In addition, all of a sudden they emailed my primary doctor and now that my doctor accepted the refferal of my PPO, now apparently I can request an appointment, which I am sure they will cancel again. They toy arround with people's health. They gaslight you. Horrible front desk service. My neurologist was a great person and tried to help me. But he did his best to get me to be seen. Either way, the reason I wanted a new refferal was because I wanted more opinions regards my health, having more symptoms and two opions is always best when their are rare cases like mine. And these people in the front desk are VERY unprofessional. And from seening all the reviews from 2024 and other years NOTHING has improved. Something has to give. It is not about the paycheck people. It's about liking what you do. We all work to serve others. Like myself. I am a teacher. Imagine that I didn't like my job, would you trust me with my job? The receptionist here are so awful. They are extremely rude. I have asked to talk to their supervisor several times and they just put me on a hold for an hour, and then it just hangs up. I have not even scheduled my appointment yet because they are so disorganized. No idea if the doctor is good or not. I have been going to this office for 2 years now. While the NP is very kind and is trying her best to help my migraines, the front desk and all the inner working of this place are VERY disorganized. There's intense and consistent miscommunication throughout the entire front desk staff. For example, I asked for an increase in my medication to help with my dizziness, it took me 4 calls to sort out an issue that they made on their end just for me to get the medication. At the beginning of my visits here I needed to complete bloodwork. I made a lab appt and waited a sufficient amount of time to let the lab order process, only to show up at 7am to the lab and the Neuron Clinic never sent my lab order over. On top of this I've asked them to change my prescription pharmacy address multiple times and somehow it always ends up sent back to my old pharmacy. I call and fix it everytime and yet it still gets messed up. I don't have these issues at any other specialist or clinic. Every time I need to get something done here, it's a disaster. Not the kind of place you want to be going to for neurological issues.... the front desk staff will make it worse! :( read more

My review doesn't reflect my experience with the doctor so much as the front office staff. I was referred to this clinic by my Primary Care Physician for some issues I was experiencing. Doctor's visit was nothing to praise about, but she recommended two procedures to help narrow down my issues, one at another hospital and another in house. I go to the front office staff and I hear the manager (she mentions it on her phone call) getting into it with someone on the phone about a bill; I should have taken this as a foreshadowing moment. The staff tells me they won't schedule me until they get in contact with my insurance to verify I am covered, so I get a great feeling that I am taken care of as a few days later I get a call to go ahead and schedule those procedures. A few months later I have a follow up and the doctor recommends a scan as everything turned out normal. The front staff says they had an issue with the insurance and will hold off on scheduling that scan and get in contact with me once everything is figured out. I don't ever get that call back to schedule the scan... Fast forward three months later and I get a bill from the clinic for approximately $700! As it turns out, this clinic is not in my network for my insurance. Now, I understand that it is within the responsibility of the patient to verify insurance details, I will accept that as my own fault. Where I am upset is the fact that I was told that I wouldn't be scheduled a procedure after a call with my insurance to ENSURE that they covered a generous amount and at some point in the conversation someone would have brought up that the insurance would not cover a major portion of the bill because they are not in network. On top of that, I was told that I would be scheduled for a scan and I didn't get a call for that either. I call the clinic in an attempt to contest this bill I'm left with and they tell me it is my responsibility to check my own insurance and when they call insurances they don't know how much they will cover. Take this answer as you will, because while there is a patient responsibility, there is a due diligence of a medical staff to at least attempt to help patients get the most out of their insurance and this clinic does not care. The clinic didn't apologize and told me it's my fault, and their only sign of remorse was to put me on a payment plan. I am still trying to combat my issues and I still have no answers, The Neuron Clinic just made matters worse by adding more stress. I would avoid this clinic at all costs as their staff will just screw you over. read more

My experience with Dr Ana was fine except the insurance denied Botox for migraines in part because the information from her office did not meet the insurance needs. My issue is with the phone scheduling and other workers. I have consistently spent upwards of 20 minutes on hold only to get bounced around from person to person since they have different clinic locations and since according to some of the phone workers they cannot handle Botox appointments. In the Malay of THEIR confusion about my appointment they told me it was for a reason and for a doctor that it was not and so I cancelled it only to later learn I was for a doctor I needed to see for jaw pain. Now I cannot get the appointment rebooked because no one who answers the phone knows what it going on and they just transfer until I leave a message and never get a call back I have left a message about this and the Botox referral several times and no one responds and when I call no one knows what to say or do When booking the appt I was told they absolutely could not get my medical records MRI so I went to great lengths to get it for them only to find out when I came in that they could get those records no problem. Their office is also scented which is a migraine trigger. Do better!!!! read more

After reading both reviews I don't feel singled out by the lack of care. I also have left many messages trying to get a referral. I recently had an appointment and couldn't help but hear the staff bashing a patient that kept calling regarding "Referrals" They all sat around like chicken hens talking about her and her care. Unacceptable, can we say HIPPA and sad that we have to be our own advocates because the people we trust fail us. I left the office and called my primary doctor to get me out of that place. The wait times at The Neuron Clinic are very long. Wasn't able to get my first appointment for three months. After I was an established patient and had some tests, it took another three months for the appointment to get the results. The waiting area is crowded and when you call the office the wait time on hold is excessive. Parking at the Chula Vista office is almost impossible. We came here in order to get papers filled out so that my husband could get cleared to drive again. They let us know that they would fax them and the dmv would send us a letter and we payed the fee. This was in August, I called today because it has been well over a month and we haven't received any news. First they gave me the number to call directly who they faxed the documents to, they let us know that they did not receive any documents whatsoever, so I called the clinic to get clarification. When I was trying to explain the situation the front office clerk cut me off, I didn't mind but when I started questioning what had happened or what the miscommunication between the two places were she became extremely rude, at no point I had been disrespectful and it's so frustrating that this is the way that they treat their patients when we are trying to get answers! There's a sign in sheet to check In they are busy...just let them know you signed in or check in again with them when they're off the phone but, again...everyone is very attentive and nice. Very unhappy with my services here at the Neuron Clinic. I saw their female dr, don't remember her name. She came in, went over my history for seizures and immediately started recommending redoing all of the testing I had done 1-2 months prior with a different neurologist, who I unfortunately had to leave because of insurance. Since I'm now currently pregnant I was unable to do some of the testing. She then proceeded to make me feel like I was in the wrong for denying testing and making me feel bad for being pregnant. She wanted to refer me to cardiology and I agreed. I have been waiting A MONTH AND A HALF for this referral and have not heard anything. I have called 4 different times. I've even called tricare who says they have no received anything. Stay away from here. Terrible customer service. Ok read more
