What is wrong with the staff? I paid on line and I was charged again in the office. DO NOT PAY ONLINE just do it in the office.

Have a terrible experience with James Collen. MD, Pediatric Neurology. I do not recommend coming here. Rushing and rude to the child.

My experience terrible experience with Dr. Mesiwala, followed by information from the PUBLIC RECORD…read morebelow, with links: I had 2 failed surgeries by Dr. Mesiwala. The first one left me with a spinal fluid leak (soaking the bed sheets with spinal fluid!) which required another surgery to repair it. This one one gave me a septic infection which put me in the ICU where my wife was told that I probably would not be going home. The wonderful hospital doctor ordered the swollen, infected area around my incision to be aspirated and tested to prove surgical infection. Before the team came to perform the aspiration procedure, Mesiwala came in and quickly ordered another nurse to administer an IV antibiotic (while he stood by and anxiously watched). This would make all of the infection tests from the surgical site come back negative. The hospital doctor on my case who ordered the test was furious about this cover-up antibiotic maneuver. She was very frank with me and said she "was shocked that he was still allowed to practice medicine but said it wouldn't go on for long." That was 18 years ago. Prior to the first surgery, a very well-known neurologist told me that Dr. Mesiwala "Has very poor judgment." A very strong statement from one MD against another, which I wish I had taken seriously. After my disastrous and nearly fatal experience, he suggested I get a lawyer and had his secretary give me the lawyer's phone number. He was on the medical board and wanted to use my case for more evidence to have Mesiwala's license revoked. I was too sick to deal with it and foolishly did not follow up. Also, prior to my surgery, even my home health nurse asked if I had done any research on Dr. Mesiwala. He then told me about the TV exposé on Dr. Mesiwala and the US Department of Justice Enterprise Corruption case for pushing a company's spinal implants after being given part of the company which made them. This is a Federal crime. I blame myself for not heeding the warnings. That's why I'm posting this for others. Now from the public record: Frequent Malpractice Lawsuits, Repeated Fraud, Medical Board Disciplinary Actions for Negligence, and a D.O.J. Racketeering investigation. The information below just scratches the surface. 1. Google search: Dr. Ali Mesiwala lawsuit One of MANY beginning in 2010 to this day: http://lawzilla.com/blog/pasternak-v-mesiwala/ Keep searching, you'll find lots more. 2. Racketeering Investigation https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/united-states-pursues-claims-against-neurosurgeon-spinal-implant-company-physician-owned 5. He was also the subject of a CBS LA news expose where he was outed for a non-FDA-approved mixture of two bone growth compounds without disclosure to the patients. This resulted in patients requiring surgeries to remove uncontrolled bone growth which had crippled them. See link below: https://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2012/07/27/pomona-hospital-allegedly-performs-experimental-procedures/ https://www.massdevice.com/california-probes-hospital-accused-secret-clinical-trials-with-stryker-bone-products/ Again, if you keep looking on Google there is much, much more. Three years ago, I was shocked to see Dr. Mesiwala on a website as one of the "Top Three Neurosurgeons in The Inland Empire". I forwarded the public information to the online publisher. The very next morning he was removed from the list and I got a phone call with an apology from the publisher. This is an unscrupulous man who, if there were any justice, should not be practicing medicine. He quite obviously possesses no moral character demonstrates horrible judgement and extreme dishonesty. To begin, I would like to clarify that this rating does not apply to everyone in the office…read more However, it does specifically pertain to Dr. Zhang and her receptionist(s). On August 20th, we attended our scheduled appointment. During this visit, we emphasized to both the neurologist and her receptionists the critical importance of having certain medical documents signed and promptly sent to the DMV, as the matter was extremely time-sensitive. As of today, September 26, 2024, at 1:30 PM, the issue has finally been resolved. However, it took a total of one month and six days for the office to complete the medical clearance for my wife and submit the required documents to the DMV. Throughout this process, we were told on four separate occasions that the documents had been faxed to two different numbers, and twice that they were sent via email. Unfortunately, none of these attempts were successful. Ultimately, it took a formal complaint to upper management and an email sent from my own account to finally get the documents delivered. Additionally, my wife had to physically visit the office in person to request the documents herself before returning home, where I had to step in and send them via email. Q

Office personnel, Brittany, refused to provide this information, indicating that the information would be shared with my mother in June 2026. This is a violation of HIPAA, the conduct required for doctors pursuant to the CA Medical Board and her rights as a patient. Despite explaining to Brittany that this information was needed so that it could be shared with my mother's other treating doctors, Brittany refused. The medical doctors with this group (Faisal, Zhang, others) seem to be billing the insurance company without providing patients with necessary test results so that patients can advocate for themselves and their medical needs. Waiting until June to receive test results done in April could be too late and could result in an unnecessary delay in medical treatment. I am going to have to file a complaint with the CA medical board against the medical group and I'd advise any person considering using this group's doctors for medical care to think twice because they are effectively delaying my mother learning about an acute diagnosis (acute frequent strokes) which could result in a negative outcome. I will be finding another neurologist for my mother ASAP. STAY FAR AWAY FROM Dr. Bhupat Desai (agent for service of process), Dr. Qazi Faisal (president of the Neurology Group), and the Neurology Group's doctors.
