To begin, I would like to clarify that this rating does not apply to everyone in the office. However, it does specifically pertain to Dr. Zhang and her receptionist(s). On August 20th, we attended our scheduled appointment. During this visit, we emphasized to both the neurologist and her receptionists the critical importance of having certain medical documents signed and promptly sent to the DMV, as the matter was extremely time-sensitive. As of today, September 26, 2024, at 1:30 PM, the issue has finally been resolved. However, it took a total of one month and six days for the office to complete the medical clearance for my wife and submit the required documents to the DMV. Throughout this process, we were told on four separate occasions that the documents had been faxed to two different numbers, and twice that they were sent via email. Unfortunately, none of these attempts were successful. Ultimately, it took a formal complaint to upper management and an email sent from my own account to finally get the documents delivered. Additionally, my wife had to physically visit the office in person to request the documents herself before returning home, where I had to step in and send them via email. Q read more

I do agree with some of the negativity. One of his staff members elaborated that my insurance company did not pay enough for me to be able to return without PAYING CASH PRICE. And of course, good doc or not, who can afford to pay a cash price visit AND insurance premiums. I went upstairs and got in to see Dr. William Baek. He was great. I went to doctor Ries a few years ago. At the time I was having seizure like episodes and a lot of unexplained symptoms. At first he seemed like a great knowledgable doctor. After two tests that didn't really show a problem I had requested to have a 24 hour eeg because I knew something was wrong and he refused to run it saying that I was not having seizures. He then begin cutting me off as I explained my symptoms and concerns. I took things into my own hands + went to the ER and had a 24hr done, and of course it showed seizure activity. I was told by the hospital to follow up with my primary neurologist so I gave his office a call + they said Dr. Ries said nothing was wrong with me, and refused to schedule a follow-up appointment with him, I told them about my test results from the hospital and they still denied me an appointment. I was left without a neurologist at the time + suffering with seizures and other health issues that are now addressed by a much better neurologist that actually cares. I had great insurance during the time, and I wasn't a complicated patient, I didn't understand why I was treated badly by this facility, maybe because I'm a young female and this doctor is a sexist, or just really doesn't care or respect his patients. But if you want a doctor who's going to listen, run tests, and truly get to the bottom of your symptoms and not just write you off as crazy, don't go to doctor Ries. His lack of care hurt me in the long run because my symptoms continued to cripple me until diagnosed and treated properly. First appointment took 6 weeks to see me. Dr. see very nice however his follow up is non excistent. Ordered blood tests (as a first step in determining my issues in my feet) which were completed and sent to his office. After 4 weeks of waiting to hear back I called & staff said that he still needs to review. Another 3 weeks later called back and staff said blood test is fine and doctor does not need to see me anymore ! Really...he said blood tests were the FIRST STEP in finding out what is going on. This doctor is decent. He seemed caring and compassionate. However his staff is downright insulting, rude and inappropriate. My husband suffered a siezure and as a result a brain tumor was found. Subsequently we missed an appointment in January due to my husbands hospitalization. I attempted to make a follow up appt with Dr Jiffry and was successful. However 4 hours later I received a call from his office manager stating how this doctor is so busy and reprimanded us for missing the January appointment. I explained to her I'm sure Dr jiffry was aware of my husbands admission and I'm sure he rounded on him. This "office manager " then proceeded to call me a "flagrant liar" as "Dr jiffry doesn't round in the hospital " well I'm sorry... my husband just had BRAIN SURGERY and forgive me if I got mybproviders mixed up and didn't call your office to tell you his NEUROLOGIST that he was once again in brain surgery. So now I'm a "flagrant liar" ?!? This is unprofessional, and not conducive of effective medical care coordination. We have amazing PPO health insurance and will be happily taking ourselves and our insurance elsewhere. I will also be reporting this to our health plan. Best of luck if choosing this Doctor. This review is based on a lady named Sherry only as I've not seen the doctor. I woke up feeling fine and suddenly got really sick, but intended to keep my appt. I have a 4 month old so I did my best to go, but had to cancel last minute. I expected some compassion given the type of specialist this is, however, when Sherry came on the line I was scolded three times like a child. No empathy whatsoever. Clearly she's a narcissistic controlling person and unfortunately I won't go here if that's what awaits me. Very very disappointed. I need help and now must go elsewhere. Saddening. read more

Today, we had to take my family member to see Dr Ries. It was a difficult appointment because we were discussing a plethora of issues including his memory loss and imbalance . Dr. Ries was able to inject humor into a decidedly grim situation and make it more tolerable. He spent a LOT of time with us and answered every question in a way in which it made sense. After speaking to Patria who is one his staff members last week. I took some medical records to Dr. Ries' office so the documents could be reviewed, so I could get an initial appointment/consultation visit. I was assure by Patria on the phone I will review a call back. After not receiving a call back from Dr. Riss' Office I called. Julie picked up the phone yesterday, and I was asked my name, date of birth and the reason I was calling. I requested to speak to Patria based on how I took to documents to her and I spoke to her. Julie first stated Patria is helping a patient, then a couple minutes later Julie came on the phone a second time and said Patria is busy, and I requested to be place on hold, and the third time Julie came on the phone and said Patria is assisting Dr. Ries with a patient's procedure. Within a five minute period on the phone Patria was doing three different things. Julie stated the office will return my call after the documents are reviewed. Basically, I was indirectly told my documents were NOT reviewed. Today I called and Patria picked up the phone, and I introduced myself and asked her if my documents were reviewed. She said she found a note on her desk concerning my medical documents. I asked her when were the documents were reviewed and said got upset. I believe the documents sat on her desk from last week. Based only on my interaction with Patria and Julie on the phone, and dropping the documents, I would not recommend this office. Patria repeatedly stated their office is full, and the doctor even works durning his lunch break. Even when a doctor is skilled, if the customer service and his bed side manner is not good, the office will not retain patients. Retaining patients only happens if a doctor is skill, customer service is good, and bedside manner is decent. I need to remember to always use Yelp before hiring someone new. read more

Horrible Dr....They just give up on you when they can't figure out what will work to help you. Was under Dr. Reis care for about a little longer than a month. I was put on disability. So the dr and I could figure out what was wrong with my head and why I was getting so many migraines. Once the Dr. "Tried everything" to help, and put me on various medications that did not help, They said I'm no longer under their care and they refused to see me. Basically nothing was done to help me and It was a waste of my time to even see Dr. Reis and his PA Ingalls. The office staff is rude and makes you feel very uncomfortable. I can't speak to how the doctor is since we never got into see him. However the front office is completely incompetent. Had an appointment scheduled for my handicapped father for 7/16/18 when we arrived they said they didn't have him on the schedule and told us our appointment was on 7/30/18 at 8:30 am. Arrived at 8:30 and now the office says we don't have an appointment today we had one for 7/16. This review is for Sherry, Dr. Ries' office manager. From the moment Sherry took my appointment she lacked patient communication skills and came off as a very crude unprofessional person. Sherry called my Rheumatologist office "lazy" because they made sending over my medical records to Dr. Ries' office for my upcoming appointment a complicated experience. Nevertheless, I made an appointment with Sherry to see Dr. Ries because what fault of his is it that she seems harsh right? Well, fast forward to a week before my appointment when Jeremy calls to confirm my appointment for the following Tuesday with Dr. Ries, which I confirm. Monday morning I receive a call from Dr. Ries' office to tell me I have missed my appointment which isn't until the following day. I get transferred to Sherry who is adamant about the fact that she knows she made my appointment for Monday not Tuesday. I waited 3 weeks for this appointment there was no way I was going to miss it plus the fact that I NEVER make Monday appointments;due to lack of childcare on Mondays for my child. I was upset but was accepting of the fact that as humans we all make mistakes and I may have to wait longer to be seen. When I asked when I'd be able to reschedule she said she'd have to call me back after she was able to check his schedule to reschedule. When Sherry called back she claimed to have spoken with Dr. Ries and said that Dr. Ries had said that he would NOT be able to see me as a patient and that I should go elsewhere because of the supposed "missed" appointment. When I asked to speak with him Sherry refused and she also refused to take a message for him to call me. I don't believe that Dr. Reis or any professional person would say that about someone they haven't met but if he did that is very disheartening. All would of been fine if Sherry would of just put her pride aside and made another appointment for me but she chose to be as narcissistic as all the reviews on here claim her to be. This MD took his time and figured out a medical puzzle for me that 3 dozen others missed. I literally owe him my life. As a specialist, we don't have a reason to see him since he correctly diagnosed our genetic condition....but we've sent others to see him. I recently took my mom to see Dr. Ries twice and we were both very impressed with his practice. The office staff are friendly and the wait has never been more than 15 minutes or so which is great for a doctor's office! Dr. Ries spent a lot of time with us and answered all of our questions and was very caring and kind. He presented information in a straight forward manner and was very thorough in his assessment. Every time I spoke he cut me off mid sentence completely disregarding what I was saying. He was condescending and spoke to me as if I were beneath him! My first visit with the office of Dr. Ries today. The office staff was friendly and by far the most efficient in getting me into seeing the doctor quickly. My impression of Dr. Ries is that he is exceptional in the field of his expertise and not only does he explain in detail what surrounds a particular condition, but he genuinely cares about achieving results for you to be comfortable. This is a mixed review: Office is clean, but looks like a lawyers office- stuffy-professional feel. Slightly intimidating. A lot of staff but noone has time to return calls. Sometimes they are rude until you're face to face. Dr. Has a huge ego, but will only listen to you until he is frustrated that he can't help you and turn you away, quite rudely too, I might add. My first visit was several years ago. It seemed promising because he seemed to know the ins and outs of my issues and was very up to date on his herb and medicinal knowledge. I had been seeing doctors for over 15 years and I finally got an explanation for what was causing my headaches and migraines. So I thought. I had previously tried nearly every medicine, herb and otc remedy. After nothing he prescribed me helped, he told me, "you might as well get on something because your issues will never go away." Not the first time a doctor told me this, sadly. Being super sensitive with lots of allergies, one NEW prescription he gave me had a chemical I was allergic to and was known to me to make my headaches worse. I called to let him know and he insisted I take it. WHAT??? Allergy alert! He didn't care. I was referred to an osteopath who was amazing that I still see today. After my issues progressed, I went back to see him and he was very cocky, threw a bunch of info at me as he exited the room. I was left scratching my head- what just happened? A week later I was referred to another doctor who was more helpful than any other doctor I'd seen in the last 32 years. If you have a "textbook issue", then he can help you get on some drugs. If not, he can refer you to better doctors that can help you. Pro- if it wasnt for him, I wouldn't have been able to get the help I needed on other issues unrelated to my head. He gives great referrals. Con- Once he's done with you, he and his personnel are totally rude and treat you like garbage. They love to take your money. They charge for filling out medical documentation and complain about it too! I thought that was illegal... Good luck! Review update: After I quit seeing this dr, he took it upon himself to speak on my new doctor's behalf regarding my health issues. Dr. Jeffery Ries is a Neurologist that I choose, because Rancho Cucamonga is closer to my husband job. I have M.S. and have not been hospitalized until him. He doesn't didn't listen to me when I had an exacerbation, and instead of putting me on I.V. Solumedrol FIRST like my one and only other Neurologist has been doing for 25 years he put me on oral Prednisone. I told him that's not going to work. He put the chart before the horse. I would not recommend this doctor to my worst enemy. He caused my exacerbation which resulted in a new frontal lesion. I was dizzy all the time and my legs became number and number. How do I know this? He ordered a MRI when I had my first appointment. At the hospital they did another MRI immediately which showed a new frontal lesion. The Attending Physician which was with his students said this makes sense. The new lesion in the frontal lobe explains her dizziness. DON'T chose Dr. Ries for your neurologist. First Do No Harm is their oath. The delayed treatment caused me harm. I never had Prednisone before IV Solumedrol unheard of. Listen to your patients especially one who's had M.S. or any other neurological disease for 25 years. I regret leaving my neurologist for a 20 minute additional drive. My appointment with Ries when had MRI and when I went to. ER was a 2 week difference. That's how we knew it was related to delay in proper treatment . Having read these reviews i felt that i have to do my own, my husband M NEW has seen DR Ries for the last 18 years i have been there with him on every appointment, never ever have i ever experienced DR Ries being anything but very friendly,caring and professional at every appointment ,he has always been concerned with my husbands well being, my husband has been in and out of hospital often since 2014 and every time DR Ries has known about this before we have even told him and its issues that has not been related to this profession, this shows me that he takes the time out to look to see how his patients are before he even talks to you, this to me is rare, not too many DRS do this that i have encountered over the years ,in fact i had one DR from another practice tell me he can't possibly check up on all his patients, because i called him out on something that he said, Top ratings to this well mannered, very caring, professional DR Ries, which is becoming so rare these days. read more
