Their current winter "Port No 6" menu has drinks starting at $12 but you can tell they put a lot of care into each creation. We stopped by on a Wednesday before 6pm and they did offer $2 off tap beers so I got a zombie dust tulip for $5. Not bad! Staff are friendly but things may move a little slower due to the care they put into their cocktails. This is definitely reminiscent of island vibes. Wait for a good drink and relax at the bar or outer patio (which has heaters in the winter). Street parking is pretty easy to snag, even around dinner time.

It's a clean looking dive bar full of regulars that didn't make you feel out of place and the young woman bar tending was very friendly. The young woman bar tending had the mouth of a sailor which I really liked, a real person and no dainty proper woman here. I felt like a Makers Mark which I asked if they had and she said let me look, she came back and said only Makers Mark 46. Ok let me get this straight, the dive bar doesn't have regular Makers Mark but they have the more expensive Makers Mark 46 OK. The game was playing on several TVs all over the bar which everything was into and it was not the packers playing. The sign on the wall had limited pizza options for food and all frozen I'm sure. Sundays are $3 mini pitchers of domestic beer which most people were having judging by how many were on the bar and the tip off to me asking if it was a special today. Overall it's a nice neighborhood dive bar with friendly people where you can hav a drink and relax.

What a taproom environment!…read more It's been a while since I first visited Ope and decided to go back recently. It was packed on a nice summer Saturday with food trucks and everyone enjoying their huge patio with plenty of lawn games and board games. We decided to sit inside the tap room which offers such a large variety of seating styles for everyone to enjoy and making it a great place to meet up with friends. We also enjoyed both their N/A and draft options as they offer such a large variety with options for everyone.

Date of visit: March 28, 2025…read more Things didn't start out great with a dismissive wave from the serving staff when we entered and looked around with uncertainty as there was no visible sign regarding the procedure for customer seating, but once we got The Wave, we found a high table off to the side in the back like the riff raff we are. Thankfully things got better from there, with the two servers both assisting and providing suggestions for food. Speaking of the food, it was quite good! I went with the mushroom swiss burger and a side of tots, and both were delicious. Initially I was a bit disappointed by the lack of tots, but given the size of the burger and my desire to shed some post-holiday weight, the portions were perfect! The burger was cooked just as I wanted, and the tots had the perfect amount of crisp and crunch.

Ran into a bartender I knew from a Milwaukee east side bar. Great drinks, an excellent bartender (Lissa), and a friendly and engaging group of other patrons at the bar. I haven't been here in years and forgot how great this place is for bar food. This is one of my favorite fish fries in the city because it's hand breaded with a flavorful coating with flaky hot fish. The coleslaw is perfect because it's very fine with a celery seed. The rye bread is fresh and not dried out. My best advice is to get the breaded mushrooms. They are some of the best I've ever eaten because again they are hand breaded. On Fridays you must get free fresh cake again homemade not bought. We tried three of the desserts and they didn't disappoint. Drinks are a strong pour and if you're lucky the owners wife will serve you because she's awesome.
