We had an amazing hostess that went above and beyond to help make us feel so comfortable. Unfortunately , we had issues with the owner. The day of the rehearsal, she kept walking through the hall and listing what she wanted us to change. We were told that we had access to the entire property, then she told us the bridal suite was not part of it. Later she decided to open it up for us to change. She left a room unlocked that had an ice machine inside so we used the ice to keep our drinks cold. She then came in again to tell us that we were not supposed to be in the room and told us we should not have used her ice. She complained that we did not use table clothes to cover the entire table. Anytime we would ask a questio, her response was "you're really pushing me today". After a talk with her and expressing my frustration, she left the hall and did not return until the event was over. Be sure to keep a copy of the contract on hand with you to refer to if you choose to use them.

We all booked rooms and the reviews did not lie! What a unique and amazing place this is! A beautifully decorated home that includes a pool, a movie room, shelves of DVDs and books, billiards and more games. You can choose which room to stay in and my husband and I chose the "Steampunk Room." The room was located in a tower apart from the house. It was so cool! The next morning we had a homemade breakfast and it was AMAZING! Our hosts made us feel right at home and were so kind. Would absolutely recommend to anyone, in fact we all wish we had stayed one more day!

I really like how many hooks they have to hang your bags and clothing .. but for a room with 3 people - there's only a total of one chair in the room. Good thing I needed to sort some stuff out and wanted to lay down - but the other two roomies didn't... so no chair for one of them. Tiny mini fridge - didnt seem very cold. No adjustments - hope my stuff is still cold in the morning. No keurig/coffee maker/no microwave in room. But they did have free average coffee down stairs. Did not see any bugs of any kind. Overall clean hotel. Not smelly & sheets looked clean. Good price-would stay again. Update : the mini fridge wound up being ice cold! It was great overnight - and btw - we do not travel much (we are going to out of state wedding) ... our next town/hotel tonight ... is older and no where near as nice !! I'm thinking the Avid has one of my favorite features ....all those hooks to hang out bags!! Missing that tonight !
