There aren't a lot of places on the road that work for vegans that also happen to have healthy options. I'm so glad that Yelp helped me find The Natural Cafe. Although there are not a lot of vegan options, there were enough to satisfy us, and we were both pleased with what we ordered. The vegan soup-of-the-day was a mushroom-barley. Flavorful and not too salty! Yay. When I saw that the smoothies were made with fruit and fruit juice, no ice/sherbet/fillers I had to order the Peach-O-Rama. Just what I wanted! We also ordered the Hummus Platter (no feta) and the Buddha Burrito (no cheese, sour cream). The hummus was smooth and had just the right amount of garlic. The veggies were fresh and they did not skimp with the pita. The burrito was so good. We should have ordered another one to-go! The young gentleman taking our order was pleasant, charming with all of the customers, and really seemed to enjoy his job, making this an easy 5-star review. Came by on a Wednesday late afternoon for a smoothie. Parking was not a problem when I arrived around 4 pm. There is outside and inside seating. Ordering is done at the counter and staff brings your order to you when ready. I ordered their Blu's Brother smoothie (Blueberry, Banana, Apple Juice) but swapped the Apple Juice with Pineapple-Coconut Juice. Smoothie was fine and not too sweet for me. Staff was friendly and helpful. I considered their Blueberry shake (Blueberries, Honey, Vanilla Ice Cream, Milk) because I like blueberries and never had a blueberry shake. I love this place. Everything there for the most part is clean ingredients. The food is fresh and full of flavor. If you want to try this place out, I recommend going and eating there. Do not order through DoorDash or another food company. We have ordered several times, and each time they have either forgotten part of our order, sent our delivery driver off with somebody else's order or have insisted that an order they have given to the delivery driver has been hours and it most definitely is not. They don't put the order receipt onto the orders so there is no way of checking after they have stapled the bag closed. With that being said, when you go into eat, the employees are always amazing. The food is always top-notch and I've never had an issue with getting a wrong order or with missing items while I have been dining in. The natural cafe is one of our favorite spots to eat when we are looking for something fresh and healthy for our tummies. So we come here almost every time we are in Santa Maria. A bonus is that it's seated in the Kohl's parking lot, so not only can you do some shopping after eating a scrumptious lunch, you can also return your Amazon purchases! Our favorite meals to order are the Nachos Grande and the Butternut Squash soup. I am a nacho fiend, so having a healthier option available (made with blue corn tortilla chips, beans, rice, guac, onions, cheese) gets me full and I feel guilt free, even with the generous portion. The butternut squash is made with chicken broth. I don't know if that's normal or not, but it was a game-changer for me. Absolutely delicious. We popped to get some dessert, because the do a great flourless chocolate cake, carrot cake, and cheese cake in addition to tasty lunch and dinner. When I come in for food their chicken enchiladas and chicken tacos are a nice heathy treat. And their daily specials are almost always amazing. Next take out works really well, but they also have plenty of room to dine in. I can get a bit nosy around lunch, but most of the time the noise level is quite low. read more

Every time that I go to the natural café, the service is fast, the food delicious, and the ambience, relaxing. I have gone twice by now and will be going again for lunch with my daughter! Where can you find that is healthy, YUMMY and in budget!? The Natural Cafe is where! The Santa Maria location is located in a populated, nice area. When you walk in there is a shelf full of menus, so you can grab one and step off to the side, creating absolutely no pressure if you enter the cafe not knowing what to get. When ordering, the service was so incredibly nice! The fresh-cut flowers in mini vases at every table was SUCH a cute touch on the place. The place is like a little restaurant in the corner not a fan of the way it looks inside, the menu is not the best I had a hard time trying to figure out what to get and the difference between the half salad and full in price is so small that's not even worth it. I got to the counter to give my order and the person taking my order was in lalaland so I had to repeat myself which is fine once! But when I have to keep repeating myself is a little annoying. This was a good find for us. There is an extensive menu which was helpful for us as we appreciate healthy choices. We had two different vegan dinners which were both good sized. One was the vegetable tofu stir fry and the other was green chili tacos. They were both just fine but not outstanding. We both wanted tasty sauces, salsas, our other condiments to choose from to brighten the taste. They had various bottled hot sauces, but no fresh salsa on the side counter where one would expect. It was a great place; very clean, excellent service, healthy food, great ambiance. Just a few tweaks and I'd easily give it five stars. Oh! They had incredible desserts to choose from! So went tonight as I saw on their menu online they offer vegan cheese to make a vegan pizza! When I first ordered luckily I checked before I left as they forgot to not put chicken as I ordered without chicken, no biggie just had to wait another 10 min and I wasn't in a rush, but when I got home and opened the container (I should've checked again before I left I would've asked for a refund) this is what I found... bread with not even cooked onions, marinara sauce, and slices of cheese not fully melted. Slices of cheese? I've had vegan pizza before with their options at other places and have never seen it like this. If you're vegan looking for pizza don't come here, go to BLAZE about 5-10 min away. *also I'll note the first pizza I ordered looked great just the chicken was on it I should've just took off the chicken myself and the 2nd pizza looked like something I've never seen before. read more
