There were eco-friendly home goods, bath products, a plant your own succulents station, artwork and cards, crystals, vintage home goods, vintage and hand made clothing, jewelry, and so much more. It is one of those places where you will find something you just HAVE to get! I bought my mom a beautiful local artisan papaya necklace for Mother's Day, some local artist stickers for myself, and a special crystal for my son. I saw about a dozen other things I loved. I don't think I've ever paid more than $9 for a pair of shoes. And I know I've always found a pair of shoes that I 'had to have' for the baby (now that I'm done with my shoe fetish that I am possibly passing down to my 19-month-old son)... Their clothes always seem to be in great condition. I don't remember how much I spent on an average outfit, but I know I've never found anything in there I didn't think was a fair price. I've even found brand new outfits there, with the tags still on, for thrift store prices. They have a great selection of adorable clothes, as well. I honestly drive over 40 miles to come to this store, that's how good it is. And FYI: They have a FaceBook account that you can friend and they give a 'word of the day' which gives you prizes that range from new items to gift cards. Everyone there is friendly, helpful, smiling, and seems to love their job. And that makes all the difference (especially if you've read my review on The Monkey Cage.)

Each visit is at least a 1.5 to 2- hour ordeal as I gab away and meticulously go through each rack (and most times double back). Madewell, J Crew, Urban Outfitters-- oh my! ...and in Gainesville, FL?! I stan. No matter when I visit, there's always something (basically everything) rare and wonderful in this store, and also I run across an amazing shoe or two. Weddings, events, and whatever-- I know I can always find some fabulous piece at Urban. The time and attention put into buying and restocking is clear and evident. The prices are great, and the sales are even better. I have run into some store hour issues post-Covid, but I am also and regrettably aware of a few health issues that make it so. I truly hope to always have this store to visit when I'm in the area. It's become a must-stop, and amazing treat that I look forward to when I'm in town. Most of the time when I have gone in there the store is either completely empty or only one customer shopping. I find it strange that all of the Yelp reviews are 5 to 10 Years old. Nothing recent. I took in 2 Totes of clothing. And then a couple months later, another tote of clothing. After 6 months I called them to ask if I had sold anything and they said I had $17 cash or $23 credit. Mind you, this was after waiting six months for things to sell. I was told it would take three months though for a check to be cut! After 3 months I still had not received the check so I called them and they told me I could just come on in and pick up the check. It really made me wonder if they are struggling financially, and if that's why they can't pay people in a timely manner. I asked if I could find out how much stuff I still had left there and I was told that they don't keep track of what has sold and what hasn't!!! I've never heard of a business working like that. I'm not trying to be mean, but I've just decided to let it go. Waiting 9 months to make $17 definitely is not worth my time and I honestly think they need the money more than I do. It's a shame because there aren't that many thrift stores and consignment shops in this area. But I honestly just feel like i'm done with Valerie's Loft.

Then you call back to ask how much money you have and you can get the money in store credit or a check. The difficult part is that it takes forever to get your check. I have been waiting 3 months to get my check. Every time I call back, they say it'll be 2 more weeks and then I never receive anything. I regret taking my clothes there.
