The view from the top deck.

Because they don't serve food, The Mullet Bar is considered a private "club". They collect a $2 membership fee that is good for 1 year. The lower level is mostly covered with limited seating. They did have live music the day we arrived, which was a nice perk. You can climb the stairs to an upper deck with more seating, but it's completely open to the blazing sun. To be real-- it's hot up there, but the view is worth it --at least a little while! I only saw two staff members: One was manning the entrance, and the other was behind the bar. The bartender could have used some help, which is why I'm giving 4 stars. It took a while to get our first round of drinks. I think they could use an extra hand to keep the tables clean and the drinks flowing, and it would be nice if they added a shade source (umbrellas or a canopy) on the upper deck.

The Mullet Bar is small but has really good views. You pay $1 for an annual membership before you enter. You can order beer or wine to drink, my husband and I both ordered a landshark. The second story can only hold a limited number of people but is worth checking out. We liked the view but sat on the main floor because of the sun. Cheers!

Great views! This was my first time trying out the Mullet Bar and I can say I will definitely be back! There was a 2 hour wait at Provision so visiting the Mullet was just a hop, skip, and a jump away. The chill atmosphere is exactly what I'm looking for in a cute little seaside town. I enjoyed a peach beer of some sort and didn't really get to take a close look at the menu but I'm sure there's something for everyone. The upper deck is small but provides excellent views of the sunset. People watching is also not mandatory but strongly encouraged from this viewpoint. I love every business in the Yacht basin and will continue to come back.

This is the perfect spot. The view is outstanding. Delicious local craft beers and wines. Super chill atmosphere with friendly dudes. Highlights? Adorable yellow lab and hipster "fishing" for customers with a reel and PBR. Come now before it gets so popular you can't get in.

This place was great!! Definitely check out the cocktails and Jell-O shots!

Our girls' trip to Oak Island continued with a stop at The Lazy Turtle, and it definitely lived up to its name--in the best way possible. Parking is located across the street, and even though the place was packed the night we visited, there was still plenty of parking available. We didn't order any food this time around, but the drinks were reasonably priced, poured well, and exactly what we needed after a day at the beach. One of my favorite parts of the evening was the crowd. It was such a fun mix of locals and visitors, and everyone we met was genuinely friendly. It's one of those places where people actually smile, strike up conversations, and make you feel welcome. The entertainment was... memorable! The DJ was wearing a parrot on his head, so naturally I was expecting nonstop Jimmy Buffett, flip-flops, and full-on island vibes. Instead, he surprised me with a completely different playlist--but honestly, it worked! The crowd was having a great time, and so were we. They also tossed out free T-shirts during one of the games, and somehow I managed to snag one! I may or may not have celebrated like I'd just won the lottery. Between the ocean views, the lively atmosphere, the friendly people, and my unexpected T-shirt victory, The Lazy Turtle ended up being one of our favorite stops on the island. If you're looking for a fun, casual place to grab a drink, enjoy the view, and soak up the Oak Island vibe, this one is definitely worth checking out.

There was no one else there, but the bartender happily hopped up to get us some drinks. They had a bunch of liquor and canned beverages. Nothing on tap (I don't think they even had a soda gun.) My husband and our friend got a beer and I got a cider. Everything was wide open with plenty of outdoor activities like volley ball, corn hole, connect four, etc. Plenty of outdoor seating. And it looks like they encourage you do write all over everything. It was a beautiful day and the vibe hear was very chill and awesome. I was a little disappointed that this wasn't on the beach. Not even a beach view. We don't go to the North side of the island very much, but I would come here again if I was in the area.

Good selection of beers and I'm pretty sure they had liquors. We're staying nearer by next time to take advantage of this great spot. She Said: We don't stay at this end of the island very often, but we'll need to remedy that going forward because Tiki Bar is a Topsail treasure. Now that I've found it, it'll be impossible to stay away when we visit family here! Potty Points: 3/5 - functional and clean for what it is. You're not here for luxury potties.
