If you're looking for one of those places where everything just lines up--the weather, the food,…read morethe mood--this is it. Out on the pier at Tiki Bar & Ocean Grill, you've got a front-row seat to the Atlantic, and on a day like today, it doesn't get much better. Blue sky, sun hitting the water just right, and a breeze that reminds you why people have been coming to the coast long before fancy resorts showed up. Food Simple answer: they've got it dialed in. Fresh, well-prepared, and exactly what you want at the beach. No overthinking it--just good coastal food done right. That's how it's supposed to be. Service Friendly, easygoing, and attentive without hovering. The kind of service that makes you feel welcome but doesn't interrupt your view--or your drink. Atmosphere This is where they really win. Sitting out over the water with string lights overhead and waves rolling in? That's hard to beat anywhere. Now, yes--the beach itself has those big metal pipes running through for replenishment. Not exactly postcard material. But here's the truth: once you're up on that pier, looking out over the ocean, it barely matters. The view still does what it's supposed to do--makes you slow down and stay a while. Final Take Great food, solid service, and a view that carries the whole experience. Even with the beach work going on, this place delivers what a coastal spot should: good eats, cold drinks, and a reason to sit a little longer than you planned. If the weather's right, don't overthink it--grab a seat, order something simple, and enjoy it the way folks have been doing for generations.

Parking is close to where the patch was (paid) we didn't stay for any drinks or food as we wanted to check into our hotel but I can imagine when it's darker it's an awesome vibe! Love love love this post. Will definitely be back for some food/drinks and ambience!

They have their own small parking lot that is free for customers…read more After ordering food inside or at the little tiki bar, they will text you when the food is ready and then you come back to a small pick up window to pick up the food. They have one highchair available, which does not have a seatbelt. For Sunday brunch, we tried the special pumpkin French toast, made with the pumpkins from the October pumpkin patch, and Sandbar breakfast sandwich. The pumpkin special wasn't written anywhere, I was just told to me verbally from the staff. She didn't mention it had hot honey, so it had a little kick from that. I would've preferred it to not have hot honey, since I was not in the mood for a spicy French toast. Otherwise, it was good, had a mild pumpkin flavor. I was still a little bit hungry after eating all of it. The Sandbar breakfast sandwich was good, had Carnitas, eggs, tomato, cheddar cheese. Coffee is available-don't expect anything great. It was sunny during lunchtime, and there is no covered seating outdoors unless you want to sit indoors. We ended up sitting on the pier, which was a lot more windy, which made it cooler. We came on another day on a Friday night when they were having their bonfire event with live music around 6 PM. It was very busy, tons of people. There were a few bonfires-it was too smoky to sit by the bonfire but there was no room anyway. There were some open bench tables on the pier itself. We tried the burger, which was good but not the best burger in the world. It came with seasoned (looked homemade) potato chips. Food is a little pricey, which is not surprising, given the location. But it is really a nice location, given that it's on the beach. So still worth a visit for the location and fairly good food.

Ok, so I have a love hate with this one... I moved here 2 years ago and my youngest has wanted to…read morego here for the longest time. It's not like he craves crab legs it's the cookies, the atmosphere, the sounds of children and families having a great time... and the vibe and set up allows for all sorts of great times. There's an interior bar and exterior covered bar. The seating is a wide variety with more being exterior imo. Lots of space. The open yard out back allows for the children to run around and play while we adults throw a few back and reminisce about the days we could hold our liquor and hold ourselves upright at the same time lol. The service staff are very attentive and nice. Our waitress was very nice and we sat inside (because it was 500% humidity, plus we technically aren't tourists) so why take up space-- let the tourists have fun out there! Interior booths are HUGE. I'm talking. Seats ten lol. There are also tables. There are individual bathrooms inside but also a few sets outside as well. The set up also allows for those with disabilities to get around easily with ramps to the door to interior. There are t vs playing a variety of movies or shows even sports and there's an arcade room inside. It's not a quiet place to have convo but a place you go to hang with a group or meet for a drink. There was no outside entertainment tonight but you can easily fit some out back with a seated and standing audience. I also like how they created seating around the ramp and standing areas too. Like benches. You can have drinks and appetizers only outside whereas inside full meals. Each table inside is equipped with a full roll of paper towels because you'll need them if you get the messy meals like I did lol. They also supply individual packets of wipes if you ask. Drinks are large size. The sweet tea want fabulous and was watered down. No water was served which surpassed me but this is Wilmington so that may be a good thing lol. The food was ... ok. This is where the love hate comes in. While I know the place OSS great for a good time out with friends the food was subpar. The kids meal was one of those frozen individual sized deep dish pizza with these seasoned fries and a cookie wrapped in packing. My meal were individual size crab legs, came with fries, hush puppies (not a fan of HP btw!) and corn on the cob . Drinks aren't included in meals. All together the total with tip was $75-78. Very expensive. The taste of the butter was very... movie theater tasting of that's even a thing. The crab legs were not large or no king crab legs either. I have yet to be blown away by a restaurant with crab legs and miss SC a lot right now! I would go back with friends and family again but I didn't like feeling like a tourist and surely didn't like the tourist prices. However, the place is fun and worth a shot.

Bartender put his drink/ bottle opener in hit mouth when talking to other servers then proceeded to serve with said bottle opener behind the bar. The side salad came out with the burger which I asked to be served prior to entree. Burger was made wrong, asked for plain and it had garden on it. Fried pickles were good. The "wild things" chicken sandwich was absolutely horrible. Frozen patty thrown together with a faint stream of hot sauce.

A great place to eat!…read more Me and my parents came here for lunch as we heard it was highly rated. Getting there was a little tricky but that was the GPS' fault. It has a nice big parking lot and we were shocked that on a Thursday afternoon, it was packed. When we walked in, we were greeted nicely and seated at a booth. The booth was nice and spacious. The table was clean, silverware was mostly clean, and there was salt, pepper, and I believe paprika shakers already on the table. One thing that impressed me heavily, is that there was a napkin dispenser already on the table. I can't tell you how frustrating it is when you have to ask for more napkins at other restaurants, and your server is nowhere to be found, or when they bring you some, but it's not enough. This is huge for a food critic like myself and this should be the standard at all restaurants. Our server was nice. She was knowledgeable about the menu and honest about what was good and what wasn't as popular. The food was good! I got the swordfish tacos with garlic mashed potatoes and a side of baked mac and cheese. The baked mac and cheese was excellent (it's quite big! You may want to make that your only side or share it with someone). The garlic mashed was good too. The swordfish tacos were good, but would've liked a little more meat in there. Still, flavor was great. My parents both got lobster rolls which they liked and my dad got the crab chowder and he said it was fantastic. Their chowder's is what they are famous for; will try that when I go back. Server was attentive, brought us refills and did an overall great job. Food is reasonable priced too and it looked like the store manager checked up on us a few times which was nice as well. Overall a great seafood restaurant to eat at. I recommend going if you are in the area; would like to go back in the future!

The atmosphere might be nice but set your expectations low when it comes to the mixed drinks…read more I'm convinced the restaurants policy stating no refunds on mixed drinks is because they are that bad. We ordered painkillers and it was missing a key ingredient, the coconut puree. When asking the manager about it and expressing our concerns about the drink not being made correctly, he reiterated the restaurants policy of no refunds on alcohol. When told him the drinks were missing a key ingredient, he brought out shot glasses of coconut puree syrup instead of having the bartender fix them. Not a good service experience.
