The chicken was tender and the cheese added a chunkiness to it. But the star of the dish was the verde sauce with toasted pumpkins - smooth, generous, bursting with flavour. Could put anything in it and it would immediately taste amazing. - Huarache de Costilla: Tasty base, good grill on the beef, generous amount of veggies to top. - Horchata Pancakes: Fluffy pancakes made extra good with that delightful horchata sauce that added a gritty cinnamon taste to it. - Cafe de Olla and Nutella Latte: The nutella latte had a good frothy foam and was not overwhelmingly sweet. The cafe de olla was outstanding with its strong cinnamon undertones. Besides the food, the people here are great. The owner, Anna Maria, shared with us her dream and passion to showcase the full spectrum of Mexican cuisine. The chef, Jose Luis, made that a reality we tasted firsthand. It's located right at the north east corner of Yonge and Eglinton in the E-Condo building. It was a bit tricky to figure out how to get to the restaurant though as it's located on the 2nd floor. We had a stroller so we were trying to get up using the elevator. One of the 2 elevators is dedicated to get to the 2nd floor but everytime we called for an elevator the other one would arrive. We ended up having to send away the wrong elevator before calling upon the 2nd one. Finally we were able to get to the 2nd floor. Ambiance was actually very cozy and definitely gave off the cabana vibe. Oddly enough though, it was pretty empty for a Thursday evening. Only one other group was in the restaurant however there were lots of takeout bags prepared to be picked up. The restaurant only had 1 staff member that I could see on the floor but she was very attentive and kind. Food was really really good and hit all the right spots. One of the taco's of the day was a pork belly so we got 4 of those, as well as 4 fish tacos, 4 pulled beef tacos and 4 braised pork tacos. Every taco was packed with ingredients and flavour and not a drip got wasted. We also got the guac with chips and the elote corn. Both delicious in their own regards but the elote definitely stood out to me amongst the two. Prices are little expensive but we left stuffed to the brim so I wasn't mad about it.
