I have lived at this complex for almost 5 years. I am a good tenant and have always paid my rent on time. When I first moved in, this was a great place to live with a great management team. They were very kind, helpful and efficient and any maintenance concerns were addressed right away. I had to contact emergency maintenance one time due to my smoke detector battery going dead and beeping in the middle of the night and my ceilings were too high to reach with a normal ladder. I called and left a message and my call was returned within 15 minutes and the maintenance technician was there within 30 minutes to repair the issue. Within the last year or so, new management has taken over and everything about this complex has gone downhill. The halls are dirty, there is mismatched and chipped paint all over the halls. The elevator goes out on a regular basis. The halls smell like marijuana every day. Packages are regularly stolen from tenants' doorsteps. When I reported this issue, the solution provided to me was to get a ring doorbell camera. Upon reviewing my lease, we are not even allowed to have ring doorbell cameras without written permission. I have had issues with roaches for the last year. I woke up one Wednesday morning with roaches on the walls and ceiling of my apartment. I went to the office and asked them to have pest control come address the issue since there is a pest control fee included in my monthly rent payment and was told they were "just water bugs" and would have to wait until Monday for pest control to spray on their scheduled day. I was not even able to pay a company to come spray the apartment at my own expense because the staff said they have a contract with a specific company. I continue to have issues with roaches to this day. My AC unit has not been cooling properly since the beginning of September when it was 100+ degrees outside. I have submitted 8 maintenance requests, the first few of which a maintenance tech came to my unit, turned the thermostat down to 50 and told me "everything is fine." During my handful of in person office visits, I have been told maintenance is not on the property which is odd since I am paying for maintenance services in my rent. My roof unit was supposedly replaced a couple of weeks ago but still was not working. I have gone to the office in person countless times and made 10+ calls to the office, the majority of which have gone unanswered. When they have been answered and I have asked to be called back with updates, my calls have never once been returned. When my AC went out completely last Sunday, I called the emergency maintenance line twice and left messages due to the temperature outside being 85+ degrees at the time and never received a call back. I showed up the next morning at the office when it opened and was told the maintenance technician would be purchasing a coil for my unit and would be fixing it that day. I came home from work to a window unit, no repair done to my AC and no call from management with any update on the issue. I called the following day to ask for an update and was told they would speak with maintenance and call me back. I called again 5 hours later with no answer and left a message. I never received a call back. The following day, I woke up to maintenance knocking on my door at 9 am to fix the AC unit. After 2 hours, I asked how much longer and he informed me it would take 3 hours total. He informed me he had relayed this information to management and asked them to let me know he would be there at 9 for repairs and to let me know the amount of time the repair would take but I had never received a call from them. I had to pack a bag and go to my parents' house to shower since I only have one bathroom in my apartment. The repair ended up taking 9 hours. When the maintenance tech was finished he apologized for how long it took and said "I didn't know it would be that hard or that high in the ceiling." I had been told by management that this maintenance tech was HVAC certified but this information indicated to me that he had never fixed an AC unit within the complex. A few hours after he left, the AC unit began to leak consistently. I submitted another maintenance request yesterday evening for the leak. I called this morning to see if the office would let maintenance know about the leak to which they responded "he is working on work orders today and will see your work order at some point." There is a complete lack of communication, respect or accountability to tenants of this complex. The staff is rude, disrespectful, inefficient and seemingly unbothered by legitimate concerns expressed by tenants. My rent has continued to increase to prices more than the offers made to potential new tenants as listed on the website despite many units being vacant. My resident services fee has also increased. I have no idea where this money is going since it is clearly not going towards the upkeep of my unit or the complex. read more
