We were visiting from the states and we noticed that there is a high number of south Asians in the Toronto and surrounding area. Moghul's is definitely a hit when you're craving spice. They have an extensive menu and a dinner buffet. The 2 times I've been in they've been empty (to the point of where I'm the only table inside the store with my friend for a good portion of my meal). The seating is spacious and (thank god) clean. The menu lists all the main dishes (ie. Butter chicken) and then you have to side order for the rice and naan. This enough for 2 people to share and be absolutely stuffed. Our bill came to approx $26 for butter chicken, 2 naan, and 1 rice. The butter chicken was creamy and filled with meat but a little too sweet. The service is a little spotty. There's really only one person on the floor and both times they've disappeared into the back for a while. We were on a mission to find garlic naan! The Moghul's is convenient restaurant located by Best Buy in Hamilton. The space is clean, bright, and they have a fun fake palm tree in the middle of the restaurant. There was no music, but they were playing Bollywood movies on the screen. We started with the vegetable pakoras which were crispy and not too oily (8 pieces for $3.99). The Bhel Puri was a giant portion of rice puffs, chutney, and onions ($4.99). The chicken Tikka Masala ($11.99) was good. The chicken was moist and it was a good portion. The okra was not as spicy and heavy, and enjoyable ($9.99). I liked how the service was quick, friendly, and attentive. If I was in the area and wanted Indian food, I would return and try some of the Tandoori items! read more

Our first time going to Moghul's (and my first time having Indian food). The food was great, not too spicy, and the place was clean and inviting. The basmati rice is good for 2-3 people, and the Nann bread is good for 2 people. There was only one staff member serving, but it was nice not having someone constantly checking on you. I'm not really a fan of Indian food because I find most of it too oily. However, this place does things differently. The food is the most flavourful Indian food I have tasted and it isn't overly oily. I've eaten here twice, and both times the taste has been consistent. Dine in service is friendly and attentive. They said they have an all you can eat special, but it is only during the week and for lunch time I think. I will try to go here to try the all you can eat at some point since I've only had three dishes here and each dish has been good. Best option is to go for their Buffet, it's almost their full menu and gives you the chance to try everything, plus dinner is only $14.95! Now, I realize you don't get your leftovers when you opt for the buffet but better way to explore different menu options! Finally found a new Indian eatery in Hamilton that's worth the money. Atmosphere: Open concept, with 17-20 tables. Comfy chairs and booths. Complimentary orange blue and gold decor. Dishes, platters and silverware go well with the theme as well. Service: 1-2 servers but it's usually the same friendly guy there. He's a great server and knows his stuff. Serving the eldest lady first to lastly the man at the table. That's something you rarely see these days. We tried many dishes and drinks which were wonderful. Drinks: Mango Beer - $6.00 sweet, refreshing and it really does taste like mango. Food: Mixed Vegetable Pakora - $3.99 for 8 pieces. Fried to perfection and served with a nice tamarid sauce. (Next dishes range from $10.99-12.99) Beef Vindaloo - Perfect level of spice and tender beef. It wasn't so spicy that eating the entire dish would be painful but there was enough there to keep you warm. Chicken Korma - Creamy curry sauce with soft chicken pieces which were to die for. Fish Masala - Breaded fish with a chunky curry sauce including fresh tomatoes. Palak Paneer - Cheese cubes and a smooth spinach curry. I FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS DISH! It went so well with the naan bread. Basmati rice - $1.99 for a service for 2. Naan - $1.99 a large plate sized naan, cut into quarters. Seasoned beautifully and not oily. Amazing. Had the lunch buffet. Would rate it a solid "meh". Service was lacking (slow, only one person there, not at all friendly or welcoming). The food was decent, but nothing to write home about. The dishes in the buffet were very sauce-heavy, I had to swipe the spoon several times to even come up with meat. Decor and atmosphere were very good. After our disappointing visit 2 years ago, we hadn't planned to come back here. However, today we were with another couple who like Indian food so we gave The Moghul's another try. We were not disappointed - all the dishes we tried were excellent; good selection and very tasty. Our waiter was very attentive, cleared the empty plates quickly and kept checking whether we needed anything else. All 4 of us enjoyed the meal immensely. Went to dinner with family today. It's great to have an Indian restaurant in the east mountain. The service is great and they delivered food to our table really fast. The food could be a bit better (as compared to restaurants in Toronto). We had paneer tikka, kebabs, and Madras beef and the dishes were good. The mango lassi was on point. Mango fizz not as much. I did love the scene and the furniture and lighting were great. Prices were competitive. Improve food and I'll be there more often. read more

We were pleasantly surprised when my wife and I tried this place. We are both fans of Indian and Pakistani food and found Moghuls to be very good. We ordered takeout and so cannot comment on service but ordering was easy and it was ready exactly when they said it would be. We ordered the chicken korma, lamb vindaloo and vegetable biryani, along with samosas, veggie pakora and naan. All were delicious, with the only complaint being the korma and vindaloo a bit light on the meat, though this seems to be common in most Indian/Pakistani restaurants. However, the flavours were excellent and the amount of heat (medium spiciness) was ideal. Just enough to feel it without it being too overpowering. Might go with hot next time. The vindaloo in particular was perfect and I enjoyed it immensely. The samosas and pakora were particularly good, and even reheated well the next day. Could easily be happy with an order of just those. Overall would definitely recommend and we will be back for sure. read more

First off, we love Indian cuisine. We will normally venture out to Brampton for it, but if we just want take-out we order in the city. We like the quality of the food at Moghul's but I have to say that after last night's experience with staff, we will no longer be ordering there. We are very consistent with the dishes we order as we know what we like. I'm a vegetarian and will get vegetable biryani, palak paneer as well as onion bhaji and samosas. My boyfriend gets chicken tikka masala and sometimes his own chicken biryani or we share the vegetable biryani, depends how hungry we are and if we want a ton of leftovers. Last night I called and ordered and when my bf went to pick up... they had prepared butter chicken, not chicken tikka masala. When my bf told them that was a mistake, they said no, that is what you ordered. The man insisted and argued with my bf for so long, my bf said just make me a chicken tikka masala quick and I'll take both (Again, cause that's what he eats) He said the man kept saying that isn't what "she" ordered on the phone and you weren't the one that called to order. When my bf came home and told me, I called to speak to him. He again kept telling me we ordered the butter chicken and that he has worked there for years and he knows what he is doing. I had to hang up because I was getting nowhere. I just wanted him to acknowledge and apologize for the mistake at that point, but no, nothing! Been back here twice since first going here to eat in the dining room. The last two times we did take out. Again, I was extremely impressed and happy with the food and service. Sometimes when you get take out from restaurants, the quality of the food is not as good as if you ate in the diningroom. This is definitely not the case with The Mogul's. Food is always outstanding!! Hot, fresh, authentic. Both times we did takeout we ordered the dinner for four, for $40. We've tried a few different dishes each time, but always have ordered the Lamb Roganjosh. I will be visiting these guys again over the holidays. read more
